Adobe Connect
Adobe Connect is well suited for education. There is a lot of flexibility in designing the meeting room layout and the ability to have breakout rooms is a major advantage over other platforms. For simple meetings that are just there to have webcams so you can see all the meeting participants (rather than a face-to-face), and do not require sharing many documents, Adobe Connect works well but is overkill and other products would suffice.

RingCentral is great if making a large volume of calls or all of its services are useful to a business, such as in our case. For users just wanting a softphone (no webinar, telecon, etc.) there are cheaper options available. However, many competitors charge for call time by the minute, which can easily shoot costs way higher than RingCentral if making a lot of calls (our users make around 40 calls/day).

- Slides and images can be pre-loaded and deployed easily, but we have noticed some buffering issues when attempting to show video as a pre-loaded file.
- Shared Templates offer a great way to set up and save multiple pods and layouts, however, we have encountered some issues when attempting to set up and save Breakout Rooms in a Shared Template.
- When demonstrating screen-share tutorials for software, some parts of the application do not always render correctly for the viewer. In our experience, this problem typically occurs with more complex, multi-window applications.

- If you keep reusing users in the system, it will eventually lead to corruption. Whenever you reassign a phone number, it's best to delete the user and recreate it with the phone number.
- Tracking support tickets could be better and I would like to be able to reopen them instead of creating a new ticket based and old ticket, based on a ticket, based on a ticket, etc.
- They need to polish up their backend in general. We have random errors only they can fix about twice a month for our company size of about 250 extensions.
- Their support chat is just text. It would be great to be able to have an email address so you can forward evidence of issues to them, be able to attach pictures or other files.

Given our recent success with Adobe Connect in deploying enterprise-wide training solutions and our subsequent investment in on-boarding designers and facilitators to deploy additional projects using it, I can see no reason we would not renew or change to another provider at this time. While Adobe Connect is a sophisticated solution, the learning curve is not nearly as steep comparable to other products, which has helped us quickly expand our use of it across the company.

We are grandfathered into our unlimited toll-free minutes plan. We are very unlikely to switch because of that. It has been the major factor saving us a lot of money compared to switching to other solutions. I don't know any other company that still offers these unlimited plans.

As sophisticated a product as Adobe Connect, the ease of use is outstanding. In my experience, even a user with very little knowledge of Adobe Connect can begin using and even leading sessions with very little training to get started with the basic features. Additional training is needed to become comfortable with the number of available features, but learning curve even for those is no steeper than would normally be expected from similar software.

Prices do not seem to vary much among resellers of the Adobe Connect hosted license; the only price variation you're likely to find are among the audio providers. When implementing, you may also wish to look into expanding the amount of storage you are allowed on the server to avoid any problems later on as your library of files starts to build up

Alternatives Considered
We looked at GoToMeeting and WebEx, and for our size and the number of sessions we do, they did not make as much sense financially. Although Adobe Connect may seem like it requires a lot of money up front, the others make up for it in the end because of additional charges for meetings over a certain size, etc. We also preferred the interface of Adobe Connect as well as the high-quality recordings and server storage.

Vonage, as of February 2017, offered all the features of RingCentral at a competitive price. For the conference bridge, which was a big driver in the decision, they only offered 1 bridge at $14.99/month + $.03/minute charge. Based on our historical data, we used on average 5,000 minutes monthly and would have paid an additional $150/month with Vonage. With RingCentral, they include a conference bridge for each user in the monthly price per line. This gave us savings and flexibility with each user having their own line.
