Likelihood to Recommend For our use case we have been using it extensively for centralizing the automated backup creation per scheduled time intervals for critical datastores and servers. Designed a backup plan DR plan accordingly and have everything integrated. To have better sleep for operational overhead in the event of ransomware attack or cloud systems going down in one region, this automation tremendously helps us to get a new env running in few minutes with less manpower.
Read full review Durva Phoenix is well suited for the VMware platform and has great restore functionality during disaster recovery. We use a different VM platform so our disaster recovery has a longer timeline if there is a critical failure as we need to get a base OS loaded before we can restore the VM data to it. This is the tradeoff between an expensive VM platform and a near free VM platform. Druva Phoenix is well suited to file version recovery if a previous data state is required by your employees or customers. Very quick to restore.
Read full review Pros We like the option of downloading backed up files both individually and as a group. The ransomware protection is a security feature that puts our minds at ease when it comes to the safety of our data. The Customer Success team does frequent reach outs and technical health checks. Read full review The best part about Druva is that you deploy, which is fairly easy especially with your technical rep being available for the whole process, and then you let the system do your work. If a backup fails I get a report, there is no need to check it every day or even weekly. The file server backup is great. Searching is easy and the capability to pull back a full folder or individual file makes life a lot easier to support my end users. Read full review Cons Advanced Ransomware Recovery doesn't work for all Druva offerings, that would be a great feature to have. The archiving feature could also offer more price flexibility. Seating up the initial configurations can be a little tedious due to the length of the documentation involved. Read full review The UI is good, but a bit inconsistent. Some types of backups are shown differently to others. It never gets in the way, but a bit more consistency would be good. The system is usage based, which is understandable, but a shock after using inSync, their other backup product, which is not. Careful planning and thought is needed if you are on a tight budget Read full review Likelihood to Renew This is the second company I've brought to Druva. Just today, I was tasked with recovering a file from a user that last saw it 6 months ago. I was able to restore it in under 5 minutes of getting the request. It's really that easy.
Read full review Usability The product is easy to navigate and manage. Setup and configuration is also easy. We did not need to pay for any additional professional services. Our account team worked with use on the integration. It was not complex or difficult to learn how to setup and use. End users also have the ability to log in and manage their own files and emails
Read full review Certain backup solutions can be cumbersome on how they actually work. Where that's properly deploying hardware or software that will house the backups. Druva is different where the software and infrastructure is completely managed. All we needed to do is deploy agents and proxies and point the backups to Druva Phoenix
Read full review Reliability and Availability Like any service, there are scheduled maintenance periods and unscheduled outages, however outages have been very limited and fortunately have not had any impact on our environment.
Read full review Performance Page response in the admin center is acceptable- rarely are we waiting for data to load. Backup speeds seem fine, and restore speeds are OK considering it's likely pulling data from cold storage. It often takes 30-60 seconds for the restore to begin transferring files, but speeds are acceptable thereafter
Read full review Support Rating We had an issue in my first year that took a long time to fix. The support guy was awesome, took screen shots, filled me in, was professional, but it just took so long. I do think that was an anomaly, but it certainly sticks out nonetheless. Beyond that, we've had pretty good support "relationships" with the reps. They're usually pretty prompt at getting back and quite knowledgeable. Just make sure you have your proxies updated, because that's always step 1!
Read full review It's been pretty easy to get a hold of the Support team and they work well to resolve our issues. I wish I could email support directly (which we used to be able to do) versus having to login to the console and report an issue from there, that's a feature I'd like to see brought back but otherwise, their Support team is pleasant to work with.
Read full review In-Person Training They are very well knowledgeable. They conducted a two day training session and they explained each and everything.
Read full review Online Training As an administrator, if I had a user who needed additional training, it was available. As an Administrator, the product was so easy I didn't need it
Read full review Implementation Rating Implementation from cloud ranger to Druva Data Resiliency Cloud platform was a seamless integration experience to upgrade the policies and license for continual backup/recovery support. This may be one of the best "set it and forget it" apps for backup solutions, that also allow notifications for failures etc...
Read full review Alternatives Considered When evaluating Druva Data Resiliency Cloud, we compared it against several market leaders. After extensive testing, we confirmed that Druva Data Resiliency Cloud stacks up well against these products due to the following features: Ease of use Simple to setup & configure Eliminates up front cost, commitment and capacity planning Immutable by default Flexible configuration options Single management interface
Read full review Druva stacks up well against its competitors. I do not remember it being at a disadvantage in any category. Phoenix couldn't provide message-level restore on an on-premise Exchange server but after we moved to the cloud that requirement went away.
Read full review Scalability We started very small with this product, only backing up key officers' laptops. After our initial experience, we found it very easy to scale up the product to all company laptops and expand into file servers, VMWare servers, and other production-level data, like Office 365 and Teams. We found the product very easy to scale while remaining intuitive and efficient to use.
Read full review Return on Investment Using Druva has simplified greatly the backup process. Once fully configured to your business needs, Druva provides a fast amount of backups. Druva has saved a lot of time for the IT team. Usually time is wasted by staff members searching for a missing email. Now, they reach out to us or use their own Druva account to locate a missing email quickly and easily. Read full review This is a necessary service to keep your information safe. I would not say that there is a tangible ROI unless you reach a point where your server gets attacked and wiped-out. Then, you can recover your information in an easy manner, which could represent a potential several-thousand-dollar savings.
