BambooHR made my HR Manager role much easier!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use BambooHR for all HR and Payroll facets now. We use the ATS system, the HR Management and just recently added Payroll, Time Tracking and Benefits. We love the ease of use and the way the system flows into each module. Payroll has made a huge difference in our process, and we enjoy it.

Pros

  • The Applicant Tracking System is pretty good. Has a couple flaws but over all it's a really great module.
  • The HR management system works really well and we love how much we can customize things we need.
  • The Reporting feature is one of my favorite things about BambooHR. I can create any report I want and I love that.

Cons

  • I would love to see a DARK mode in BambooHR. The white is super hard on my eyes, and as the admin, I spend a lot of time in BambooHR.
  • The Rehire protocol in BambooHR's ATS system is non existent and needs addressed.
  • Need to have the ability to have more details on the Benefits module. Not being able to download or email an election sheet to our agent is frustrating.
  • On approvals of Time off requests, it would be nice if the approval inbox notification would show what the employees current balances are for PTO, Vacation, Sick Time, etc. so we know if their request is valid. Right now we have to open another window to review their time off tab to see if it's okay to approve their requests.

Return on Investment

  • This has impacted our cost savings overall in respect to better management of our Time Off policies and not overpaying on benefits.
  • This is a time saver for administration and managers and helps them be more productive in areas that are of more urgent need.
  • It provides a huge resource for our company in reports that we didn't have before.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In my case, I used Bamboo as a human resources management tool. Vacation requests, days off, recording work hours, document requests, etc. It's incredibly useful and user-friendly, with always timely responses and very comprehensive information.Although I didn't use it regularly or constantly, whenever I needed to manage any kind of request, it was always available with up-to-date information, so you can fully trust what it says.

2 Years In to BambooHR®

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I manage a team of about 20 via the BambooHR® system. I review and approve time cards biweekly including approving time off requests. I help team members use the Goals area for setting personal improvement goals as well as team goals. I also am in charge of hiring for our branch office, so I am familiar with the Hiring/Jobs section of the software.

Pros

  • Digital Time Card Tracker
  • Automated Emails for Hiring
  • Automatic PTO Balance tracker based on submissions.

Cons

  • Sometimes employees who have overtime and PTO in the same pay period...I find it confusing to make sure they have everything submitted correctly. Wish there was an easier way to do this.
  • I've noticed some bugs with the Hiring Emails not coming to my actual inbox. It seems hit and miss...and the status of "opened" or "delivered" etc...isn't syncing with the ACTUAL last email that I've sent to a potential hire or they've sent to me.

Return on Investment

  • It has definitely improved onboarding! We were doing so many manual forms. It felt like it took a whole week to onboard someone. Now they 're doing most all of the requirements before they even have their first day at work
  • I would say yes, overall HR efficiency has been stepped up a notch. We do have a couple of new employees in HR, but it has taken a time-suck...load-off of me as the office manager.

Prior to moving to BambooHR®, we were using a collection of File shares, spreadsheets and none of it was well maintained, updated or accessible to the correct levels. We now use it for all hiring/termination documents, background check, contact data, emergency contact data, pay tracking, employee timekeeping, employee feed back and company policy access. There is probably even more items I am not currently listing.

Pros

  • Clean design
  • Very easy to use
  • Good support

Cons

  • Feature improvement always includes additional charges
  • Some fields/ areas are a little to shallow
  • Would like more depth to augment or add fields.

  • Single Source of Truth for information related to HR
  • Much better access to data at all staff levels

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are using BambooHR® mainly for HR purposes, such as quaterly assesment and performance meeting. This is also where all our employee request time off and we store all their informations in their personnal file, such as salary, CV, and other important documents. We also export some vacation reports for pay purposes.

Pros

  • Performance assesment

Cons

  • Vacation reports (correct number of days for a period instead of the whole request from the employee)
  • Integration with other pay system (ADP)
  • Honestly we love BambooHR® and don't have much bad things to say!
