I have used Cvent Event Management for 10 plus years and continue to use it. It has been pleasant to watch Cvent grow over the years. In my current role, I use Cvent Event Management for reporting and communications as well as Cvent on Arrival. I have been extremely happy with Cvent and the products that they offer and continue to offer.

  • Using the communications function of Cvent Event Management is easy to set up and use.
  • Conditional logic is an important part of my registration sites and Cvent Event Management's ease of set up removes the headache.

Cvent's one stop shop provides everything you need for an event from inception. From site searches to post conference surveys, you can utilize it for all aspects of your event, whether onsite, virtual, or hybrid.

Our department is Event Services and we are tasked with being the One-Stop Shop for the University for any meeting, gathering, conference, training seminar, wedding, student event, or party on campus. We used another event management software previous to Cvent, and it was a very challenging system to learn and explain to new employees. It was not user-friendly at all. That's what we love about Cvent is that it is very user-friendly and the customer service team is amazing!
  • Combines multiple systems into one place - Registration, Abstract Management, Speaker Management, Travel/Hotel.
  • Ability to create flexible event types such as In-Person, Virtual, or Hybrid.
  • Provides excellent customer service to help make event planning run smoother.
  • Improving the badge, invoice, and certificate template designer. It is very clunky at the moment.
  • Create a double-check tool that runs through an event after it has been set up but before it is made life that will check all the settings to make sure there aren't any conflicting things so that launch runs smoothly and you avoid having to make huge changes after the event is made live.
  • The ability to combine Registrant information and question answers into one report rather than having to combine multiple spreadsheets.
We have found that Cvent works very well in planning and executing workshops or conferences either in-person, virtually, or a hybrid of both. It makes creating a registration site and sessions very easy and the branding stays uniform. The drawback of Cvent is that it doesn't apply to smaller meetings and gatherings very well mostly due to the per registrant cost to the clients. Some of the University departments just do not have the budget to use Cvent for every single gathering or smaller event that they plan.

Cvent Event Management is critical for planning our internal events as well as our external customer events. Cvent helps our team to manage every detail of our events, from dietary needs to travel booking. With so many moving pieces, Cvent allows us to collect every single detail and roll-up reporting to our senior leadership team at a moment's notice (yay for reporting and planner alerts!).

Perfect for the meeting professional who manages multiple events or large scale events. It’s a one-stop shop to show case your events, provides a consistent customer experience, and allows for efficiencies within our strategic meeting management workflows. This is less suited for restaurant based functions as they are mostly not included in the Cvent Supplier Network, but you can still use the registration component for these simple meetings.

We use it to manage course registration sessions and we integrate it with our university student info system so that academic units have visibility on orientation reservations. I hope to see Cvent Event Management enhance more of its higher ed usage and features. For instance, it would be helpful to incorporate more flexibility in guest options and registration options.

We currently use Cvent to design websites for events and conferences hosted by my organization, as well as for clients hosting in our event space. We mostly use this in-house for our department since we are new users, but intend to one day use it more for the latter mentioned reason.

Especially in these trying times of the Pandemic[.] Town halls have been held through the platform and we've been pretty pleased with the outcome for the most part. Our organization has used Cvent for our organizaton's 3 regionally focused annual conferences and professional development events hosted at schools and hotels throughout the world. Additionally, we use Cvent to manage the registrations and certifications process for our Online Workshops. We currently use Cvent to manage our registrations, data, RFPs and vendor submissions, surveys, to run our conference apps, and to manage our certificates and records available through a contact website built through Cvent.
  • Data Management - Easy to build reports can be used to track attendee preferences, locations, and trends and easily report out. The reports sections continues to receive improvements and updates and is one of the best features of the system.
  • Requests for Proposal - Easily manage, review, and confirm RFPs and hotel selection for events of any size throughout the world. One of the most user-friendly RFP systems I've used.
  • Stakeholder Communications - Efficiently manage your email communications to stakeholders and attendees through the events email system. Using invitation lists and filters, easily send messages only to the intended recipients for targeted mailings.
  • Attend Hub features for in-person and virtual events.
  • Formatting of reporting in new Flex has some limitations versus the old system.
  • Formatting Emails and Documents - Recent changes to the system with Cvent Flex have improved this functionality, but with the traditional builds we still face difficulties with formatting emails, documents, and webpages. The new GUI system is improved, but for older events some programming knowledge is helpful.
  • Avoid Over customization - Cvent is a great product out of the box, but it may be tempting to over-utilize custom fields. The larger the number or more complicated the logic of the custom fields, the more difficulties you may face in integration with other systems.
While the system still has space to grow, it is the best management and event registration system I have yet used for events from dozens to thousands of attendees. For building registration pathways, gathering attendee data, communicating with attendees (on and off-site), and managing surveys, Cvent is a great tool for organizations that regularly organize events, trainings, or conferences.

We use Cvent Event Management for 20+ events per year. We use it for both virtual and in-person events. We manage e-mails, registration, payments, refunds, post-event surveys, reporting after an event and we use features for badge printing during an event. We also track attendance and issue CPE certificates after the event based on attendance throughout the event.

I think anyone managing and hosting events will benefit from using the event management platform. It is very to administer the back-end processes, checkin, monitor registrations, and so on. From pre-event registration, sending attendee emails, to onsite check-in/badge printing, lead scanners and using the Attendee Hub for virtual and hybrid events. We also use the Cvent mobile apps, abstract and speaker management and integrate Cvent with Salesforce for easy reporting.

Cvent is a very robust platform! We manage well over 50 - small and large - events per year so an event management tool like Cvent is vital for our company. Creating a streamlined process and easy to navigate is key. This platform has helped us create, produce and organize our events seamlessly. Managing various meetings and events, we have built simple to complex registrations, particularly customizing registration types and paths. We have explored and used many Cvent event management products from payment administration, integration, appointments, and mobile app tools. We also use reporting and inquiries for metrics.

It is a user-friendly software, allowing planners to build and manage registrations, send emails, manage surveys, and run reports. Cvent has made and has continued to make enhancements in the ever-changing events industry. They are innovative and welcome customer feedback for product improvements. Currently, my marketing team and I use Cvent Event Management to keep track of all attendees coming to our events. We share the registration link to invited guests, they sign up and fill in all information we need on our end, and then it is easily organized in Cvent! Super easy to make an event website and it tracks all data so you can make/see all types of reports. Cvent solves the problem of disorganization with attendees and creating events in general, and there are still so many other features I have yet to discover!

  • The event refund process should be smoother and auto return $ to the people who signed up. We had to cut personal checks for each individual that paid for an event that was then canceled due to covid.

  • When designing our websites, sometimes the format is a tad off when making a schedule, so maybe some more detailed and aligned formatting options or templates for common event website pages?
Cvent is great for: Keeping track of attendees and registrants for upcoming events, building many reports and collecting data, creating event website,s and sharing easy links Still could be improved: The entire refunding process. I know Cvent has to make money too, but we had several issues (a lot to do with communication, as every Cvent person we talked too, had a different response on how to successfully refund the event admissions) and it was ultimately a long process to complete the refund.

We use Cvent for our conference/tradeshow. We are a very small organization with only one person organizing the event. Cvent Event Management makes it easier to coordinate everything in a timely fashion. The ease of getting the analytics and reports helps us make good decisions every week. I highly recommend Cvent Event Management.

We use this software ourselves and so does the event agency we use to run some of our events. It is just great as a platform for delegates to register and to manage registration of other attendees. We also enjoy the flexibility of the software and the help from the team.

It is mainly run by our marketing department for conferences and admin things but used by our sales team to do their webinars and market to their user base. For us, this addresses a lot of business problems of management. The system allows us to keep everything in one forum and as one base for everyone to jump off of.

It is used by the whole company of the client I support. It allows for specific branding guidelines to be followed so that a consistent message is always being delivered to their clients and partners.

Cvent Flex registration tool allows for an easy and user-friendly way to get out the event or conference details to the targeted market, easy to use registration process and a quick and concise confirmation in their email inbox. Prior to the event, it allows to relay all final details, be it URLs for webcasts or hotel confirmations for onsite conferences. For onsite check-in, OnArrival speeds up the line, allows for any messages to be relayed and gives a great end-result participant report.

  • Provides an always ready, 24-hour hands on customer service help desk
  • Allowing more in depth paths for registration questions (i.e. drill-down questions as needed)
  • Hotel widget does not model in a user-friendly way, allowing for customer confusion and cumbersome work-arounds
  • Flex Email customization widgets need to integrate into the emails more smoothly and be able to customize to have the same look, feel, font of the written text. At this time it does not allow for the same level of customization.

1. Quick or complex Registration pages for any event, conference or webcast for 10+ attendees allowing for details and confirmations to be presented and details sent
2. Allow for notifications to hold dates for upcoming events
3. Allow for a temperature check in the form of a survey of a group for making decisions, checking needs, etc. (open or blind send)

Not as suited:
1. Trying to make the wrong Cvent tool for the job at hand. (example, using standard flex registration tool for one on one appointments instead of the appointment tool)

A few departments across our organization use Cvent Event Management to help organize and run our in-person events smoothly. It helps us break down silos, more uniformly and effectively execute high-quality events, and put together more seamless end of event reports. It also allows us to put together event branding/marketing materials without overburdening our already very busy creative and design team.

Cvent Event Management is very well suited for organizations that put together multiple events across multiple departments/stakeholders. It is less appropriate for organizations that only put one 1 event a year, or are very small and agile on their own. If you need to create a great event quickly, Cvent is a one-stop shop!

Cvent [Event Management] is very robust, but the most beneficial item from the platform would be the ease of cross-event surveys and the ability to send those to a shared portal our entire company has access into. I save hours per year by not needing to pull reports daily for staff members.

I would love to see Cvent [Event Management] add event feedback survey reporting to the cross-event reports. I spend a good amount of time collecting this data manually and manipulating it for a full year of events.

Cvent [Event Management] can be customized to solve a multitude of problems. In my personal role, I use Cvent [Event Management] to solve the problems that come with registration: "Who has registered? What are their registration details? What information do I need?" I can set up a registration page, capture all the data needed, and then push a report to a shared portal so I do not have to answer my team each time they have a question… I can direct them to the reporting portal and they can be autonomous.

  • Email Tracking: You can see if your event invitees have opened the invitation email, registered, declined, or even what step in the registration process they made it to.
  • Automated Emails: You can send emails manually or schedule emails to specific invitees, registrants, or no-shows.
  • Reporting: I can create a customized report, manipulate it when needed, and event send it to a shared portal so my co-workers can login and view a report in real time without emailing me requesting a specific report.
  • Feedback Cross-Event Reporting: I would love to see [Cvent Event Management] add event feedback survey reporting to the cross-event reports. I spend a good amount of time collecting this data manually and manipulating it for a full year of events.
  • OnArrival Application Login: If you make an error logging in 3 times in a row, it locks you out for a good chunk of time. Would like a two-dept verification to avoid.
  • Networking: Before covid, we used to have a good amount of in-person networking opportunities for [Cvent Event Management] users that were free- now it is really only [Cvent] connect for face-to-face events it seems?
[Cvent Event Management is] well suited [for] event registration, event registrant tracking, automated emails, reference IDs, and reporting.

Less suited: Metric tracking- while you can use reference IDs you cannot adequately use UTMs with your events so it is difficult to see a campaign across the board if an event is a part of it.
