We have monthly phishing testing to all employees with 3 levels of training for failures. For this last month, we are running at ~2% phish-prone, compared to 5.4% for healthcare in general. The main business problem is click-throughs on any type of email and KnowBe4 has done a very thorough job of training our people to STOP! LOOK! THINK! We constantly reiterate how important it is to be aware of any and all emails.
  • The different types of emails that are sent as tests keep everyone on their toes
  • The training modules are excellent
  • Customer service has always been excellent answering questions thoroughly and quickly.
  • The main issue I have is you cannot change the training modules on campaigns without creating new campaigns. I like the campaigns we have but would like to swap the training modules to keep everything fresh.
  • To create campaigns, there is no step by step process to complete them. You have to go through different sections of the software to get everything set. And some of the processes don't make a lot of sense to me in the ways they are done.
Since we are a healthcare organization, we have a wide spectrum of tech-savvy users and KnowBe4 addresses that issue with the wide range of email templates available to be used. Some people get it (1 mistake and done) some don't (5+ mistakes).

As for less appropriate scenarios, I don't believe I have come across any. It works and works well.

Our organization uses KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training to provide relevant content to our employees. The modules allow the users to complete all of their required training in short, less time consuming, intervals that meet their work schedules. The content is engaging and provides an overall vehicle for required training as well as self-developed content.
  • Engaging content
  • Easily "digested" topics
  • Remedial training opportunities
  • More content at the lower tiers. You shouldn't have to pay for the highest tier to get the best content.
  • Default Dashboard should be to the training content for all users. Admins should have to choose to see the Admin Dashboard should they need that view.
  • Users should be able to enter more information on their own. Currently the admin has to update any phone number or organizational information instead of the user doing it.
KnowBe4 is very well suited for large organizations that need to make Security Awareness Training readily available. It is also a great tool to provide self-developed content to specific users as necessary.

Security Culture Building: The platform assists in creating a security-conscious organizational culture. It provides training modules, quizzes, and educational content that can be customized to suit an organization's specific needs and policies. This helps in fostering a security-aware mindset among employees.
We also use it for:
Phishing Simulation: KnowBe4 allows us to conduct controlled phishing simulations to evaluate how employees respond to phishing attempts. This helps in identifying individuals or departments that may need additional training.
  • Phishing Simulation
  • Security Culture Building
  • Risk Reduction
  • Gamification: Expanding gamification elements within the platform could make security training more engaging and enjoyable for users, encouraging them to participate more actively.
  • Better integration with other tools such as SIEM and email gateway.
  • Phishing simulations can use more templates, so that users will not see the same templates more than once.
Having used different Security awareness Training providers, KnowBe4 is much easier to use for the end users and the phishing simulations are also excellent. Compliance: For organizations subject to industry-specific regulations or compliance requirements, KnowBe4 can improve compliance by offering tailored training modules and tracking compliance-related activities. This reduces the risk of non-compliance and potential regulatory fines.

KnowBe4 is a industry leading security awareness training tool, which can be used to send out cyber security training content, phishing campaigns, and other resources depending on the modules you have purchased. The user is the weakest link in the security chain, and so it is important to educate and raise awareness for different threats that users will encounter. Before I purchased KnowBe4 I had to scrape together different products to send out phishing campaigns, and I was creating my own training material. This took time and meant that I wasn't able to do this as often as I would like. However, with KnowBe4 I have access to a large library of email templates, training modules, and customizable features for educating my staff.
  • Customizable Phishing Campaigns
  • Excellent Training Modules
  • Multiple Product Integrations
  • More Content for Non-Diamond Users
  • More Interactive Training Material
  • Customizable Reporting
KnowBe4 is well suited for training and testing users within your organization on a regular basis. It is great for yearly security awareness training. This upcoming month for me is the official Security Awareness Month, and so KnowBe4 has a packet of material to send out which makes my job that much easier. It cannot fully replace some manual instruction you may have to give that is more specific to your organization, but KnowBe4 is great for general knowledge.

KnowBe4 was implemented to strengthen the awareness and knowledge regarding phishing and cybersecurity. Education tends to lack adequate or proper training, infrastructure, and prevention around threats in the digital sector. The ability to actively train employees on current topics and trends regarding cyber security is a blessing when most consider security as an afterthought. Implementation of training and phishing is made easy with KB4 integration.
  • Phishing tests and reporting
  • Training for phishing and cyber security
  • Ease of use management
  • Digestible metrics and data
  • Lower subscriptions do not offer a "full experience"
KB4 is best suited for IT departments that may not be able to draft in-house training and testing for email phishing. Be it lack of staff, resources, or time, KB4 makes up for with its ease of use. One person can easily manage users, content, integration, etc. of KB4 into the infrastructure of the organization.

My organization has been using KnowBe4 for about 5 years. I work in Higher Education as a System Administrator in the Department of Online Learning. In this role, I believe that the training and resources offered are a very high quality for end users because they are easy to follow and retain.
  • language is easy to understand
  • content is repetitive
  • easy to retain
  • more real life examples for the year 2023
I believe that the best scenario for it is in higher education because there is a wide-range of end users, such as well-informed faculty and staff, as well as entry-level users. I believe a least ideal scenario would be for an information security company.

KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training Videos are used for our Faculty and Staff Cybersecurity Awareness Training (Required).
  • Provides familiar scenarios to users
  • Easy to Use/Follow
  • Providing Cybersecurity Awareness Training Materials for October for Adults vs. Children
Well suited for staff. Could be better suited for Higher Education faculty who have to deal with students and need to often convey concerns to students about Cybersecurity.

It is used for other training, Title IX and FERPA, but it is also used for security awareness training. We currently have annual campaigns but are in the process of changing them to quarterly. KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training is also used for onboarding new hires.
  • Easy to select videos
  • Easy to keep track of users' participation
  • The ability to extend or restart campaigns
  • The ability to reuse previous campaigns
  • More selections are always welcomed
  • More selections for up-to-date threats
  • Quick campaign ideas, kind of like a quick survey, to see if people are aware of certain threats
Used for quarterly training to maintain awareness and for onboarding new employees.

The training is done in a way that can keep the user's attention and still get the point across to the end user. With the graphics and the large variety of training, from videos to interactive training, there is a set of training for any need available. If you wanted, you could even print a poster to post on the wall in the breakroom or common areas. The phishing campaigns are updated to stay relevant and go along with the newsletters for the full training sweet.
  • We are able to educate our users to look for emails that may be malicious as the training shows the reinforced steps to screen an email.
  • This shift in mindset and behavior creates a more vigilant, proactive, and security-conscious workforce, reducing the likelihood of internal security incidents.
  • By regularly engaging employees with interactive and relevant security training content, organizations can instill a sense of responsibility and ownership for maintaining good cybersecurity practices.
  • Organizations need to allocate staff or third-party support to administer the platform, create customized content, monitor user progress, and analyze training results.
  • This can be challenging for smaller organizations with limited resources or those lacking dedicated cybersecurity personnel.
  • The only improvement would be to be able to actually upload graphics into the template instead of having to use a link to an image.
  • The only thing i would change is the flow for adding/utilizing some training modules.
Trainings are very interactive. Company is always adding new things to improve product. Being able to add your own trainings and SCORM content is very useful as well.KB4 does a great job of keeping the training relevant and current. The quarterly mandatory training has been very successful in the adoption rate, and we attribute this to the interface and the content being applicable in business and their personal lives. Increasing knowledge about Cyber related issues and conditioning our Human Firewall. Any person IT person knows that your network is only as strong as the users who understand security concepts. KnowBe4 is allowing us to bring that knowledge to every user in the company and level up their game.

We use KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training for monthly awareness training, monthly phishing tests, and annual questionnaires to gauge employee knowledge. The entire company is required to complete the monthly trainings to satisfy requirements set forth from different resources. We automatically set up employees and schedule the monthly trainings automatically.
  • Monthly trainings automatically set up
  • Automatically sending phishing tests
  • Disabling employees automatically through AD
  • Automatically enrolling new employees
  • Reporting- the reports I am looking for are never there, I have to run through PowerBi to get reports of things I actually need
  • I think there should be a way to send an email with every person who has not completed a required training to a higher power for non compliance issues
In my opinion, best suited for companies that want a mostly automated monthly/regular training modules with low effort. In my experience, not the best for specialized training because there are few options for that and not the best for customized reports.

This is one piece of the CyberSecurity puzzle we have. Using KnowBe4 we are able to train our users what the risks are and how to spot probable malicious attempts. Along with that we are able to test and see what patterns we have for strengths and weaknesses. We are also able to determine attitudes and perceptions so we can implement training that explains the possible attacks and why it is important to be aware.
  • Identifies and defines all the different possible attack scenarios.
  • Gives real life examples of successful attacks and how they could have been identified and avoided.
  • Keep things simple and easy to understand. The training is for the everyday person so they avoid a lot of tech-speak - or define it simply when they can't avoid it.
  • Split out a lot of the current attack strategies into their own training modules to be more in depth.
  • Work on the exit of the module to show user has completed. Frequently have to have users log back on just to "finish" one or two screens at the end so that it will register them as having completed.
  • Cover more things like replying to a phish and why it's bad
Learning how to recognize who actually sent an email or how to hover over a link to see where it actually points are great little tips that people have been able to pick up. Understanding the threats that come with simple everyday things most people don't really think about like tailgating or finding a USB drive and knowing that it may not be harmless to just plug it in and see what it is. Even after all these years people are still learning that attachments can be bad. KnowBe4 SAT has done a pretty good job at explaining how that all works in simple to understand terms.

We use KnowBe4 for phishing simulation, security training and a few other things as well. I like how everything works together from getting sim results to sending out training and tracking results. Very clean layouts and easy to follow instructions.
  • Ease of use
  • Contents of the training
  • How they make all areas work together
  • Cloning simulations has caused some issues since not all information is transferred over
IT is very well suited for the typical company with many users of varying knowledge bases. It could use some very in-depth courses for people with a lot of knowledge also.

The company utilizes KnowBe4 primarily for phishing simulations, on a monthly basis, to the entire employee base. We use this to test and educate our employees, track security related metrics, and is a key part of our information security education and awareness program that has been implemented by out IT, Security and and Compliance team members.
  • Integrations with enterprise systems (e.g. Outlook, Active Directory)
  • Updated and Constantly Relevant Phishing Templates (Phish of the Week)
  • Weekly Security Tips Emails and Communications
  • Improvements to Vishing
  • Improvements to custom Brand Management for templates
  • Improvements and more detail to Industry Comparability
The company's experience with KnowBe4 has been overall very positive. The Phishing Simulations have been extremely valuable and beneficial to our organization. Campaign creation and automation is very intuitive and the platform is well designed for security professionals to customize and administer. An area that KnowBe4 falls behind in is their offerings and platform for Governance, Risk and Compliance. Many other GRC platforms on the market have much better features for Risk Management, Third Party/Vendor Risk Management, Controls Testing, Policy Management, and more.

Anyone who starts working for our business must take, and pass, the KnowBe4 Texas Association of Counties Cybersecurity training course as part of their orientation. This is an invaluable way to track our employee's progress and verify if they are allowed to be on our network. What makes things even easier is that once they pass the test, KnowBe4 immediately removes them from the Orientation group. This is the group we add all new employees to that automatically assigns them the test. Without this module, tracking and verifying new employees would be an arduous task.
  • Track Employee's Training Progress.
  • Automation of Tasks.
  • See who is and isn't a liability.
  • Creating Monthly Phishing Campaigns to automatically run.
  • Automatically assigning training for those to fail the monthly Phishing Campaigns.
  • Sending out information to employees to better arm them to spot Phishing emails.
  • Unlocking user accounts.
  • Assigning specific users to training rather than groups.
  • Ability to split up and modify the monthly phishing results.
Knowbe4 is a wonderful tool to educate our employees with the ability to spot Phishing emails, avoid them, and notify the IT Department in the event they receive one. Not only can we send out educational material for those who have failed out simulated Phishing Campaigns, but we can also send out educational information to refresh the employees on a regular basis to keep them on alert. The employees are the first line of defense when it comes to stopping Malware from infecting the network, so there isn't really a scenario where Security Awareness Training isn't well suited.

It is used across the entire organization as part of our security strategy. This solves the problem of providing training throughout the organization as required by standard security practices.
  • Phishing Tests.
  • Offer additional training for those who click on a phishing email.
  • Phish Button.
  • It is performing as expected.
It is a great tool to send out training and the phishing test is a great tool to measure user response. For the chronic clickers, additional training is provided to reinforce the need for diligence in reviewing emails before clicking on links.

One of the biggest challenges regarding KnowBe4 is getting users to complete their training. This isn't a reflection on KnowBe4, but rather an organizational responsibility of senior managers to enforce the training. A direct challenge we have with KnowBe4 is anticipating growth and estimating the number of licenses. KnowBe4 seems to have a relatively lenient growth threshold, but we must have surpassed it. The result is an aggressive demand to pay for the additional licenses. Of course, they come asking for the money after we submitted our budget, which places an additional burden on us to find a way to shift money around to try to pay them. Keep this in mind if you plan to use KnowBe4 as your user training solution.
  • Quality training modules for an enhanced end-user experience
  • Easy to manage console
  • Integration with Active Directory
  • Training for managing the console is mostly offered through test-based web pages
  • You will probably only use a fraction of what KnowBe4 is capable of.
  • When you ask KnowBe4 for knowledge of how to use a feature, they usually send you a link to a text-based webpage that may, or may not solve the issue.
If you have a large organization and need to implement an email trainer solution, then KnowBe4 is a good solution for this. The initial setup is easy other than configuring an Active Directory sync file. If you don't want to sync with Active Directory, KnowBe4 gives the option to upload a CSV file with end users' email addresses.

KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training is used in our organization to facilitate web-based security training for all employees. Trainings are rolled out both quarterly and annually to ensure employees remain aware of the threats to their organization's cyber networks and the potential liabilities that accompany those threats. Additionally, the platform allow leaders to identify areas of opportunity to sure-up potential weaknesses and improve awareness.
  • Tracks employee progress
  • Allow for scheduled and personalized reminders
  • Provide overall security risk health
  • Provide more training modules at lower statuses
  • Website tabs can be more simplified to locate desired information
  • Need to improve the instructions on how to run reports
KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training is fantastic because it has the ability to account for a large group of people or a single organization with single batch training and roll-outs. The training also allow organizational leaders to personalize or select the types of training presented to employees. Despite some limitations that exist with the subject matter addressed in the trainings, there is a variety of options including the lengths of training which goes a long way to encourage employee participation.

We use KnowBe4 to send out training when someone clicks on the phishing campaign links. The user will then have to complete the training. We also have other modules and training if you log into the site.
  • The training videos are interesting and keeps the user's attention.
  • I like the badges so you can see where you're at with training.
  • I would like to see a better layout on the homepage.
KnowBe4 would be well suited for any company who uses email since there is always a risk for phishing emails to happen. This allows IT to run simulations and see how well the users can identify these types of emails.

We use KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training to run automated Phishing training campaigns. We create additional training campaigns that provide interactive training and games. Before we had KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training we had to manually create and deploy Phishing training. Reviewing the results was hard since it wasn't managed by an automated system. This has saved us a lot of time and provided better training for our employees. We have seen an increase in users reporting Phishing emails. We also use interactive training and game modules. We are now metrics we can review and see if anyone needs any additional training. This has been extremely helpful to ensure our users have the best training possible.

  • Newsletters and posters
We are very happy with our KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training. They have provided an automated way we can deploy Phishing training campaigns on a frequent basis without having to spend a lot of time setting it up. I think the metrics and reporting tools we have are outstanding. We are able to see get an overview and see if any additional users require any further training. We have saved a lot of time without having to lose quality thanks to KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training. We also have seen an increase in users reporting Phishing emails. We highly recommend KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training to other companies looking to start a security awareness training program.

For training employees to spot phishing emails. We also use the phish ER capabilities to triage emails and provide useful information. This also quickens the process for a small team of security personnel.
  • Ease of use
  • Great content
  • Good support
  • Updates to content on lower tiers.
  • Better reporting features.
  • More automation in phisher
I think it's great for employee training. Able to deliver and track the training. Basic reporting works well but more in-depth reporting is left to be desired. Other features are useful but not required. Phisher could use more automation capabilities and functionality. There are a lot of things we don’t use but there are great training modules but our current tier prevents us.

I currently plan out the phishing campaigns to take place once a quarter, with training campaigns. At the request of different departments I also enroll certain people in training. This product addresses the lack of training on the 8th layer. Starting off, we used to get 70-80 users failing tests. Most recently, only 20 have failed and I expect that to go down as time goes on.
  • Explain social engineering well
  • Answers the majority of questions users may have
  • Allow feedback to be provided to better understand what the users think
  • A bit more report functionality - we have a new email access training (like new-hire) that everyone is enrolled in if they have joined recently. If they fail the SAPA, they're put in a remediation group. I want to create a report that allows me to share who failed the test, and what they may have missed.
  • Smart groups are a bit wonky sometimes, especially when dealing with the logic. If you set it one way, it should work that one way.

We use this platform to provide security awareness training to our team and to run regular phishing tests to gauge user comprehension. We find the collection of categories and emails to be very useful and a great test of our company's risk.
  • The quality of educational materials is excellent.
  • The website and platform are very user-friendly.
  • The variety of phishing simulations keeps our staff on their toes.
  • It could make setting up AD sync easier.
  • I would like the ability to assign training to individual users instead of making them part of a group by clicking on them.
The platform is well suited for getting a baseline awareness level and for providing real-time metrics of your company's overall risk. The platform provides a ton of variety in phishing simulations and educational materials.

This program has become part of our security culture! It has excellent modules to study new methods of defense against old and new techniques used by bad actors. It has really helped our company learn different areas of attack and how to be diligent in our work. We now report suspicious emails and calls. The customer service has been excellent as well. This program provides monthly newsletters on new attack variants and has upcoming training methods on how to identify these attacks. There are multiple training modules of varying types. Our users have really taken to the training modules and games. These modules are also updated every so often with additional languages. This helps us revisit older modules which were not available in a certain language. New modules are also introduced on a monthly basis covering new defense methodologies. All these items, modules, newsletters, etc. help our users become more secure and help the human layer defense become a stronger part of our company. This enhances our security culture. They even have modules to help new employees become acquainted with security. We would highly recommend any company in any industry using this platform.

This platform is well suited for any industry as it provides general and in-depth security training. Learning from this platform can also help in personal use cases also. It is good to know different ways bad actors are using new technologies for deception purposes and how to defend against these types of attacks.

We solely use knowb4 security awareness training to train all of our staff here with all departments. We train our front end staff as well as back admin office. We also train our accounting, HR and IT department with these trainings.
  • It helps us keeping our staff informed on phishing emails
  • it helps our staff to protect the front end systems
  • It is user friendly platform
  • one improvement could be easily adding users to the training rather then whole group
  • Another thing is I have to manually select the level of subscription we have in order to filter out trainings specific to our level. I think it would be ideal if it was setup to be default
I think the trainings are very well suited in all areas for our organization

If you want to send trainings to all the company with a great content: KnowBe4 is the solution. Sometimes the technical support is not a good experience, but the platform is really good.
