We use Slack to communicate internally with our team, which is very helpful for our remote employees who we would not be in such close contact with if we didn't have Slack. It ties to our calendars so we can see who is in a meeting or not, which is also helpful!
  • I like that it has icons so you can quickly know who's busy (in a meeting) or working from home just by looking at the emoji.
  • It also has a feature to integrate gifs into the workspace which I think adds a fun way to communicate with others!
  • Lastly, its ease of use is great! It's very easy to learn and integrate into our everyday use at the office.
  • I do wish Slack made it easier to see your DM's. They added a feature that moves them around based on who is active, but if you're trying to find a thread with a teammate who isn't active on Slack at that moment, it's a lot harder to find.
  • I also think they could integrate with AI more and have apps for AI.
  • Lastly, it would be awesome if it would tell you when a coworker was last active. It would be nice to keep track of when people are logging off.
I think Slack works really well in office settings, or even for any group of people who need an easy way to communicate with each other through organized channels.

It may not be the best for those who intend to use it as a social media type app, it is more geared towards business use.

Slack helps in doing instant communication with the colleagues and other professionals. You can share your screen to your teammates during meeting. The huddle facility is great. You can add reminders for your task. Taking updates from your team mates using task reminder. This is the perfect tool for an organization. You can add other users also in your communities to have a discussion.
  • Creating channels for your personal projects
  • Creating communities for a specific discussion
  • Huddle and Sharing screen are the perfect option
  • There should be a last seen option

I have been using Slack for more than one year now and we continue using it. It's great for communicating with the whole team. We have group calls and share documents and all other kinds of files. We use different bots in it as well. We have all kinds of channels and groups for public and private settings. We can add reactions to it too that's fun for the team. We have offices in different locations and with Slack it's very easy to keep the whole team up to date with all the things. Now they have added a new note feature as well that comes in handy.<br>You add your google calender to it and they send reminders. And you can edit the message in case you wanna change it. You can schedule messaged to be sent.
  • Notifications
  • Add Google meet Reminders -
  • Connect with your google calendar and other accounts.
  • Schedule Messages
  • How to reply to message without making a thread could be easier
  • They should option of underlined text.
Slack is suitable if your team is in diffrenet locations and you'd like to get updated and coordinate with the team, in a very seamless experience. You can have quict huddle and pin messages to be set as weekly target of tasks ext.

Slack uniting teams

Our team is scattered all over the world, this app allows us to connect and work together in projects. It also helps the company environment become fun and personal.
  • Talk with friends at work
  • Collaborate with colleagues
  • Report to direct managers
  • Less noisy
  • More user-friendly
  • Less steps to delete a whole thread
It is well suited to talk with colleagues and ask short replies questions.

It is less appropriate when having a long conversation with multiple questions within one single thread.

We are using Slack for connecting with our team mates and also there are multiple threads and channels which are created where we can get all the documentation if anyone is new to out project. We can reply to particular thread, add reactions, pin the messages. So multiple features are there which are helpful for us in our daily life
  • Reply to particular message in group and following the thread
  • Audio calls without any distortion
  • Hashtags and channels which is different from others
  • Pin the messages to track it easily
  • All good as of now
It is well suited for both large or small groups of projects where we can connect with our team easily, pin the multiple messages, add reaction to comments and reply to the thread. These all scenarios are well suited to use Slack. We can do audio calls without any distortion and also see the active status and availability of the teammates.

Slack made internal communication so much easier since the pandemic. No more lost emails or unseen notification. Every team can have it's own channel, every project can too! With multiple integrations from Bitbucket, Google Calendar and so on, productivity has skyrocketted. Let's not forget the integration of ou best buddy, /giphy, to integrate fun gifs to the conversation.
  • Integration with third parties
  • User management
  • Save message for later and set reminders
  • Makes remote work feel less lonely
  • Sometimes, integration are a bit complicated, but that's not Slack's fault
  • The desktop app works great, the web app on the other hand, we had problems with it
  • Some ISP are blocking Slack for some reasons
Slack really shines when there is a urgent matter that neesd to be addressed. Every one can take part in the discussion and provide live feedback and info on what is happening and what they are doing. It works great when things need to be done fast. On the other hand, Slack can become a bit of a burden when you need to focus on a task and colleges are having an agitated discussion about pineapple pizzas.

I use slack everyday to communicate with my Team and Managers. It also allows me to talk and collaborate as a group. My favorite part is the slack channels so that I can stay up to date with current in real time updates for the company as well as specific offices. Huddling is something i've only seen SLACK have!! Really cool feature, makes it very easy to hop on a quick call and lets others know your busy. My other favorite feature would be that it integrates with Google calender and it automatically updates your status to let others know your in a meeting and until what time.
  • Integration
  • Bringing large groups together
  • Letting people know when your busy
  • Talking to people on the go
  • Easier way to create group messaging
100% will recommend Slack to large organizations who's work depends on collaborating and talking to colleagues on a day to day basis.

My whole team uses Slack to communicate with each other, we have different channels where we find out about new company news, we also have private groups for different business areas. It is very useful, we can also link other applications, this makes it easier for us to remember meetings, presentations, among other things
  • Notifications for my meetings and chats
  • Have conversations easy to find
  • notify my team when i'm sick or busy or in PTO with a emoji in my profile
  • Delete or leave a conversations with multiple people
  • have a more personalized profile
  • have the option to automate some channels so that they open themselves
When you want to ask a question or comment to someone at work but you want it to be immediate without having to send an email but you don't want it to be so inappropriate to send it by whatsapp, Slack is the option. But when you talk with a client and you want to have evidence I think is better an email

We use it to talk to each other and share info, the product solved the problem we had using our private text apps, crossing the line between personal and professional life
  • Integrations with another apps/softwares
  • Multiple groups of chats
  • Fast interface
  • Filters to search specific conversations
  • Group Calls are confuse in the interface, you don't know if the person in the other side is hearing you or not
  • I don't think Slack app is as good as the platform, it's a point that has room for improvement
  • Couldn't find another thing to be better
Slack is great to talk and share info with work colleags, optimizing process with the integrations

For example, we connect slack with our inbound leads source, this way, when someone fulfil our form to get to know us, all the info about the person shows up at our inbound group, making easy for us to work with these leads

We all work remotely around the globe. This is a great way for us to keep track of important documents, hop on a quick chat or just share in comraderie overall.

It keeps the work at home alone feelings at bay and helps us to collaborate easily and efficiently.

Pinning important posts keeps just what we need at our fingertips.

It’s easy to use, I can mute or block when I need time away. My only complaint is the mobile app doesn’t alert me every time a message comes in, causing me to reply later than I would sometimes like. Perhaps that’s user error.
  • Communication between remote employees
  • Sharing links and docs
  • Creating a fun atmosphere
  • Emojis
  • It’s great to share GIFs but difficult to easily embed them.
  • Some of the ways to turn on and off notifications are difficult to manage.
  • Those are my only “2” complaints
It’s the best way to interact, whether you’re live or not.

It’s safe and you can control who has access to what.

Most people find it simple to use.

Slack is the main communication tool inside Frubana. After it was implemented I was able to witness an increase in alignment and a decrease in meeting time a week. Slack is faster than email and allows you to easily create groups with contacts inside or even outside your company. It brought speed to communication. It is an essential tool for fast-growing companies
  • Creating and inviting colleagues to groups to address specific topics
  • Video messages are the next level of asynchronous communication
  • Sharing documents and links inside the chat bring life to the conversation
  • Integrations and bots makes your life easier
  • A lite version to compete with WhatsApp and bring to the conversation to those employees who resist migrating to Slack
If you are in several WhatsApp groups, your email is clogged with questions and your calendar is full of FUP meetings, your organization needs Slack. Slack brings priority and order to the communication process and creates a culture of speed and commitment between decentralized teams.

Slack maybe not be so suitable if you have a small local team in a consolidated business.

We use dedicated channels for specific projects and invite only those involved in that aspect or area rather than the whole team. We're able to share in-progress designs and decks to get feedback rather than via email. It also stores all files so we can reference previous versions or directly send files to team members. It can get cumbersome to find things but the search is great.
  • Share file quickly and easily with certain team members
  • Search and reference previous conversations
  • Organize projects and team members via channels
  • More robust previews of files, e.g., INDD, AI, PSDs, etc.
  • Annotate attached files
Slack is great at collaboration and quick messaging. The Huddle virtual meeting is great and easy to access. Occasionally Slack can be a distraction and mandatory channels in large corporations are annoying.

Slack is our main form of communication between our team internally and with our customers/clients. We use the features of Slack Connect to connect with our users at the companies we serve. We use Slack to quickly communicate with team members, share documents, integrate with other software products such as ClickUp, Front, and Google Workspace, and talk with our users directly in order to facilitate quick action. It's another tool we can use to meet our users where they are rather than relying on a singe communication line.
  • Instant messaging with notifications
  • Sharing of documents
  • Integrations with other software vendors
  • Connecting with external companies through Slack Connect
  • More native integrations!
  • Flexibility in notification sounds
  • More control over Workflow builder without having to pay for additional services
Slack is a great tool to use for immediate communication without having to draft a formal email communique. It's also less formal in nature, so using things like GIFs and emojis is accepted and even encouraged. This can help break the tension in difficult situations or be helpful when describing a situation. It also generally brings joy to others, however it can be seen as a little bit of a nuisance if overused.

Sharing collaborative documents and using the Workflow Builder and Slackbot can cut down on manual repetitive tasks. We are just breaking into this, but we can see a world where all communication is done through Slack and integrations.

We use Slack for business communication within the organization. It helps us organize how we want to reach out to teams, and individuals. Options to communicate with a group, one on one, make calls, push alerts, and make reminders are all great features we need in daily work life and Slack does a great job of supporting that. Integration with tools like GitHub, Jira, CircleCI, Google Calendar, etc. makes lives easy and systems effective.
  • Communication to group, individuals
  • Public and private channels, topics for temporary stuff.
  • Organize communication in threads.
  • Make quick calls (Huddle)
  • Searching for a particular word, file etc can be better.
I don't see a reason to call it inappropriate. I highly recommend Slack for community work and organizations.

In my organization, Slack is been used especially for the communication purpose and exchanging of files. It's simple to use & the best platform to communicate in the organization. One can only chat or reply to a particular conversation by mentions in channels. No need to take any admin's permission to join channels. It can also be said the Social-Media of an organization. It's a comprehensive tool that every organization wants for meet & greets, project discussions, file transfers etc. It is said to be an excellent tool for any organization, but it can be a big move if they increase the upload & download speed as well.
  • One can only chat or reply to a particular conversation by mentions in channels.
  • No need to take any admin's permission to join channels.
  • One can draft messages, list your to-dos, or keep links and files handy.
  • Huddles are limited only.
  • Didn't see any other issues, but it can be a big move if they increase the upload & download speed.
The Good:
Slack is an amazing business communication app. It allows public and private channels, effortless file sharing, and an integrations with Google Drive and other applications used in business organizations. It’s an easy to use application which works on all upgraded desktops & mobiles as well.

The Bad:
There plans are very expensive. Free version do exist, but has some particularly limited features. They have to do some upgrade in their Video and Audio Call as well for the betterment of quality and firm state.

Slack is one of the easiest-to-use professional platforms. It is like a Corporate WhatsApp. The User interface of Slack is just so perfect. I have been using this platform for quite a long time and have never faced any sort of issue. Any one can easily use it without facing any difficulty.
  • Slack is like a Corporate WhatsApp
  • Sharing media files, and chatting is so easy
  • You can pin important messages in chat
  • to make your status active even if you are offline
  • should invent something, if the messages are seen or not
I love the fact that you can pin your messages in the chat so that you do not miss anything.

My company uses Slack every day for employee communication. It is our main form of communication, especially as we are now fully remote. It provides an easy way to quickly get in contact with other employees. The many features of Slack help us stay organized as well as build culture with the many fun aspects of it. Integration is seamless and the app is also an awesome feature.
  • Quick chats between coworkers.
  • Ability to hop on a phone call with one or more people.
  • Fun gifs to lighten the mood and improve culture.
  • Uploading photos or saving photos from the app can sometimes have a glitch.
Slack is great for companies where employees work on computers throughout the day. It allows for quick communication instead of having to schedule a meeting for a quick question. It may not be appropriate if employees do not work on computers.

We use Slack to communicate effectively, and it helps our teams collaborate, interact, and secure device data syncs. It has alerts, audio calls, emojis, etc., which makes it great for groups, and we use it for individual and company-wide communication, entertainment, and props. Slack simplifies file sharing. Using channels simplifies group chats and integrates with applications like JIRA, which can post alerts and notifications into a channel for monitoring.
  • Automates communication processes.
  • Easy channels, groups, and permissions.
  • Productivity is easy with apps like JIRA.
  • Email threads to track stakeholder responses.
  • Screen sharing, video, and voice are all faster on Huddle than on Google Meet.
  • Updates sometimes trigger notifications.
  • During prolonged use, the app freezes and restarts.
  • Inability to set a background when participating in meeting calls.
Slack facilitates teamwork with messaging, audio, and video chat. It simplifies intra-company communication and information exchange, boosting team productivity. Slack's connectivity options are better than Google Meet's; guests can join some channels without being invited. But it has bugs and incompatibilities with some devices, and the interface is confusing. One such issue is that when I share my screen in Huddle, my coworkers' notes are invisible to me because of a glitch in the program's "draw" function.

We have been using Slack as the only communication medium to interact internally with anyone in our organization, it is the most convenient method to interact and discuss. The huddle/call feature in the Slack is also an amazing feature which helps to get connected to any user instantly with great voice quality, also offering the screen sharing features. I must say that Slack has helped so much to simplify the interaction procedures with so cool interacting platform. We have been using this on daily basis to deal all type of issues to discuss and fix. The mobile, web and application versions also adds a great advantage to the users to stay connected anywhere and anytime. Overall it's the most amazing and high performing portal.
  • Huddle/call
  • Sharing attachments
  • Unsend or edit messages
  • Emojis
  • Screen sharing
  • Lag is noticed sometimes
  • High battery consumption
  • Multiple messages can't be deleted at once

Slack allows our company to effectively communicate internally between members of the team. Additionally we can communicate with other companies through Slack Connect. The software is robust and has functionality that allows us to set reminders, manage communication through various group threads, and integrates with many other important software in our tech stack. We haven't experienced many bugs or down time with the software. The dev team is committed to updates and making sure the software stays up and running at all times.
  • I love using the remind function to have slack tell me about things that I need to remember. It can be used for exact dates and times in the future and even recurring reminders. It's definitely one of my favorite features.
  • Slack allows you to "huddle" with other teammates. This is a quick voice call and is way better than trying to call someone on the phone.
  • Slack's ability to integrate with many other software makes it invaluable. We can have other software send us notifications or reminders in Slack that we wouldn't have received otherwise.
  • The only thing I can think of is that it is easy to create too many channels. This has more to do with the team using Slack and less to do with Slack itself. maybe some direction on Slack's part on how best to utilize channels would be helpful.
Well suited scenarios:
It is super easy to jump on a call with another member of my team and chat with them. You can share your screen and even draw on the screen of the person who is sharing. It makes it really easy to help direct a team member, or just have a bit of fun.

Less appropriate scenarios:
I probably wouldn't try a team video call on it. I'm not sure how well it would work for a video call with a ton of people on it.
