Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp

ClickUp is the primary project management and content calendar tool we use to service our clients with. We love using the board views to manage projects through their sequence of completion and we prefer to use the calendar views to manage content for clients. We've recently been investigating ways to use the ClickUp automations to streamline the admin side of client management.
  • User interface is easy to navigate and accommodates drag and drop functionality.
  • The free plan was a great introduction for our small team, which then led us to upgrading once we grew into the next tier.
  • Being able to choose your views and customize settings for sharing with clients is a huge value-add.
  • I've noticed the notification settings don't seem to stick. I continue to get emails of things I disabled in settings.
  • Not being able to hide task update feeds for client views is pretty irritating, even being on a paid plan.
  • Enabling a template from the template center requires some digging each time you create a task. It would be nice if ClickUp recognized using certain templates by task names.
  • ClickUp saves me several hours a week in back and forth communication with my team on project status.
  • ClickUp has made creating a new revenue stream for our social media clients much easier by using the content calendar functionality.
  • ClickUp has significantly increased productivity of my team, because it acts as the one source of truth for each project.
My organization's collaboration has improved dramatically after using ClickUp. Being able to work with clients and gather their feedback on tasks has been quite helpful as well. ClickUp has earned its place as the only tool we use for project management. The step will be for us to use it to track our goals and progress toward them.
The automations are still a large part of ClickUp I'm investigating. Much of the work we do is custom to each client, so it can be difficult to design messaging at scale to allow automation to assist with communication with clients and internally. The template center has been helpful for us to ensure each component of a task is complete.
Personally, I've used Asana with several clients in the past and I can't stand it. It makes me appreciate ClickUp's User Interface and capabilities so much more. Trello is a bit to scattered for my liking as well. When I picture how a PM software should look and function, I always revert back to thinking about ClickUp.

Are you happy with ClickUp's feature set?

Yes

Did ClickUp live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of ClickUp go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy ClickUp again?

Yes

ClickUp is absolutely perfect for solopreneurs and small freelance teams. The other platforms simply cannot compare, especially with the value in the free plan. It is also quite useful for creating content calendars that can be shareable for clients, a big win for those in social media. It's not well suited as a replacement for a CRM or CMS.
