Overall Satisfaction with Guru

Myself and the team utilize Guru to create documentation of solutions, processes, and notes.

The issues with our previous Wiki and MS Office document solution were:
  • Multiple sources and location of data
  • Insufficient tracking of information owner
  • Old and/or not up to date information

Guru was able to centralize the data with clarity on owner and as a bonus, we are able to set the review date, which shows up in the interface and can also be configured to notify in Microsoft Teams.
  • Very simple data entry
  • Easy searching for data
  • Ability to set date reminders for card (Guru calls posts cards) review
  • Cards downloaded as a PDF are Guru branded
  • No ability to company cards when downloaded as PDF's
  • Copy/Paste of web browser card information has occasionally caused issues with graphics in the past using Google Chrome, MS Edge, Vivaldi, and Firefox
  • Traceable Card Owner
  • Scheduled Reminders To Update Information
  • Quick And Easy Search Capability
  • Saves time by having information in a single location
  • Saves time through easy search capabilities
  • Saves time with dating information
Guru vs MS O365
  • Guru: Quickly searchable, showing multiple options with summary information / MS O365: Data in different folders with unfriendly naming conventions made searching difficult.
    +1 Guru
  • Guru: Programmable reminders (required for each card) to update. MS O365: No reminders and file dates did not indicate weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, or annual review dates. Using a spreadsheet to track the information was an undesirable additional step.
    +1 Guru
  • Guru: Heavily formatted documentation doesn't copy over well into the Guru interface (it can keep original document as a file to reference though) / MS O365: Natively supports heavy formatting in the documents.
    +1 MS O365
