Guru has the card verifier and an option to select when to re-verify these cards. Unlike Google Docs in Google Drive, Google Docs is just a straightforward document creator and a lesser option for accountability and correction checks, which is something that is available in Guru. Also, it is easier to organize topics in Guru through its department, cards, and sections.

Guru has a better experience compared to the standard cloud-based file sharing (Google Drive, Box, Dropbox). It's definitely easier to navigate around, however again with cost considerations not sure if it's outsized better.

Guru acts as more of an internal universe for our company, does not really feel like we are using a third-party tool. It feels like an integral part of our organization and ecosystem, thereby encouraging cross-team collaboration, knowledge sharing, efficient utilization of resources and time, which in turn improves satisfaction of both internal & external stakeholders.

Google Drive is an excellent tool for database and large file sharing but very clunky when needed for quick-hits or answers. Guru had come in and knocked it out of the park. Guru has given us the ability to utilize both successfully throughout multiple teams.

We have used Trainual as a LMS and Knowledge Base as well as Zendesk Knowledge Base articles.
With Trainual, we could log in and search for key words. With these key words, it would pull up where those words were referenced and an agent could click on the lesson to learn more. This was inefficient because they had to log in and search, pulling up a new tab. Trainual as a platform was also very laggy and overall not efficient.
Zendesk Articles were also inefficient because we had a hard time maintaining the articles along with the LMS. Things would be outdated and go under the radar. The agents also had a hard time locating where the articles lived and which keywords to use.
Guru is much better because the agents do not need to log in to anything or create a new tab. They can easily locate where Guru lives and type in key words to find the information they need.

Guru was way easier to use for me! We all searched high and low for a new tool. Guru has changed the way I work! I use it every day and without a pause, I can look things up in it and share cards with my team manager, C-levels and more. You save time and can get more work done in the day. I would hope that anyone looking would just go with Guru to save them time and money.

Guru was sufficient for our company when we were still a young start-up. However, as we grew we needed a more robust product which we found in Atlassian Confluence. Confluence has many more features that are better for organization and structure. I think Guru would still be an excellent product for smaller companies.

  • Atlassian Confluence
Guru is more simple to use and build but confluence has greater functionality and allows you to create pages and organize around specific topics in a really helpful way.

Guru is a much simpler tool than the typical content management system. In some cases you can consider it as a complementary tool, but in my previous two companies we felt we were not big enough to warrant a full blown CMS. Guru can be implemented and start being used in two days vs the typical 2 months of other tools.

Confluence pales in comparison to Guru. While Confluence is a giant when it comes to company knowledge sharing, it relies far too heavily on its plug-in products (JIRA, Bamboo) that oftentimes are just as clunky and unreliable as the primary product itself. We use Guru because their approach to knowledge management and sharing is new and innovative. Gone are the days of introducing an old wiki and telling your team, best of luck! We trust Guru to be leaders in this field, and more importantly we know that our voice as their customer matters. Regardless of their size, or our engagement they are always willing to take a call, or hear our product feedback.

Honestly, Google Drive does not stack up against GURU, but it is what we were previously using to organize internal knowledge. If your organization is at 50+ people, you need an actual tool to help organize internal knowledge. Everyone will be thankful that its not just a google document somewhere in Google Drive.

  • Google Docs
Google Docs is very limited and truly a nightmare to locate information once it's been lost in the Google Doc abyss. Guru has helped us not only find our lost data, but make sure the data is up to date and helpful for our respective teams. Having our team data in Google Docs was very hard to maintain for quality and visibility.
