Perfect for eLerning and Research Workshops in Architecture
Overall Satisfaction with Miro
We use Miro for our studio work in architectural classes at the University of Sydney School of Architecture Design and Planning. I have implemented it both for the bachelor and master-level courses. It is a very handy tool because you can track user location on the board and view multiple types of media simultaneously. It was especially relevant during the COVID19 lockdown in Sydney Australia because we had to deliver all educational units online in 2020 and 2021. The largest number of participants I had was 250 people, all of which had to upload images to the board. The app struggled a bit but did not crash. I have also used miro for research to run co-design sessions for our data visualisation AR application. I'm definitely going to use Miro in the future.
Pros
- User-location tracking on the board.
- Simultaneous viewing of multi-media files.
- Various options to organise boards.
Cons
- Adding questionnaire functionality.
- Improve navigation options.
- Make shortcut / hot keys (display them as options).
- Enabled to simulate studio teaching scenarios in architectural education.
- Allowed to support eLearning.
- Improved productivity.
It was a useful tool for both educational and research collaboration scenarios.
