Overall Satisfaction with Xactly Incent
Xactly Incent was onboarded in 2016. Prior to 2016 commissions were completed using a home-grown database and many, many spreadsheets. Xactly was able to integrate the home-grown database into their program and eliminate most of the manual processes that were in place. Today Xactly Incent is working great with our new updated systems (Dynamics, Salesforce)
Pros
- Prior to 2020, we paid commissions on when an order shipped. This could be a year or more after booking the order. Xactly has the ability to look backward at quota attainment, rate, and comp plan details.
- The new year comp plan set up is pretty easy and once it's set, you can trust it to work
- I really enjoy their training classes. I've always learned exactly what I needed to and they give you a good baseline to understand how to figure some things out for yourself.
- Xactly offers some free training and certificates, which is great.
- The Premium Support option is worth the money. Response and Results are immediate
Cons
- I don't care for the "buckets" used for reporting. It would be nice if I can get all info in one report i.e. contract #, customer info, product info, item amount, attainment info, rate, calculation, payment, etc. This would eliminate the need to vlookup multiple reports.
- Add a "select all" option on the download report icon. This would eliminate me having to delete one report at a time, which wouldn't be so horrible if it was just one click but it's not.
- Updating the layouts of the exported reports and onscreen reports is not that user-friendly and is very time-consuming.
- Using Xactly has greatly reduced the time to complete commissions from a month to a day.
- It allows for greater transparency and provides a common dwelling to house sales reps reporting and statements
- Auditing for accuracy and fairness is much easier and faster
- In terms of investment... nothing in Xactly is free. Very costly even for the most minor changes
Having the ability to label each type of commission and bonus allows for senior management to evaluate the cost of the programs and then determine the effectiveness of the program. This has really helped to streamline the companies priorities and utilize our resources where we see tangible benefits.
We utilize several platforms to measure and manage sales performance. Xactly's ability to report commission expense has a great impact on setting territory quotas and sales forecasting/accruals.
These platforms have recently been implemented (2020) and so far working as expected.
Finance and Accounting use Xactly for forecasting and accrual.
I'm not sure what other products my company considered. Xactly was already in place upon my hire.

Yes, over this past weekend. My upload file wouldn't work. They figured out why and I made the change. The column header said "User" which according to person setup, that would be there name. However, the file was really wanting their email address. I suggested they update the header.

- can't hide old/unused rules, rates, quotas, etc
