Considered Multiple Products
SharpSpring (discontinued)
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
We chose SharpSpring over HubSpot and Mailchimp mainly due to the wide range of features SharpSpring offered at a very competitive price. HubSpot was similar but almost twice as expensive and Mailchimp's features were not as comprehensive. We also felt that SharpSpring was more …
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
We experienced working with other platforms in our team, reviewing and testing, in order to find the one that would optimize our workflows the most. Some of these were completely new to me (Sharpspring was one of them), but I had previous experiences with platforms like Mailchim…
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
SharpSpring has all of the functionality of HubSpot at a fraction of the cost. I used HubSpot at a previous position but I have found that I can do everything I want to do in SharpSpring without having to pay a fortune.

SharpSpring also offers significantly more functionality …
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
Constant Contact is a good tool if you want most of Hubspot's features at a much lower price. It gives you a more predictable number as well as most of the features. It also has the benefits of having other items that regular email marketing systems don't have. While there are …
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
SharpSpring has created a vacuum in my business for the better. Marketing as a service only gets to its final stage once you have a powerful way to leverage the data in your client's businesses to their advantage. We could never do this for our clients until we found …
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
I prefer SharpSpring because it covers at least all the needs a medium or small company requires to start and develop an inbound marketing strategy.
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
SharpSpring is the best All in One CRM. It's not just a CRM for email management and that's what's important to us! The support is better in SharpSpring and it's getting more and more effective!
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
Some of these other tools are "more closed" and do not allow so much customisation or you have to make ad hoc developments.
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
Pros of SharpSpring:
  • Design unlimited custom fields
  • Can send content & templates to Sales to send in their reach-outs (Outlook extension)
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
SharpSpring is better priced than other products with similar feature sets. It allows better management for an agency with clients, and has the kinds of features that can readily move the revenue needle for clients who have the vision for what's possible with an integrated …
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
We use different CRMs for different clients, mostly due to budget and other requirements. SharpSpring from Constant Contact is in the middle, price-wise, but is slightly more user-friendly than ActiveCampaign when it comes to certain things, such as drip campaigns and …
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
SharpSpring provided the best in terms of comprehensiveness, capability and cost. The support is also fantastic.
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
SharpSpring doesn't quite live up to HubSpot in terms of the intricacies of its features. But what it does, when compared to the cost of using other premium marketing automation systems, it does well to help meet marketing objectives. Providing your technology stack is …
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
SharpSpring is a much more financially viable option than HubSpot, while not sacrificing much of the functionality.
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
The dynamic content of the email and landing pages gives SharpSpring an edge over most tools at this allows us to use the workflows to send personalized content to our clients. The sales CRM within SharpSpring scores the leads which not only pre-qualifies the leads but allow …
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
Pricing for small and mid-size companies was the key difference/factor to switch. When we started in 2016, the pricing strategy from HubSpot was not affordable for our company or any of our clients, and that was why we decided to switch, and we have been working with …
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
From my research, SharpSpring has every functionality that is needed to effectively deliver omnichannel sales and marketing solutions for most businesses. It is ahead of the market in terms of dynamic personalisation, automation, and retargeting. In terms of value for money, it …
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
SharpSpring was the most cost effective of the solutions we evaluated. They were also the only one who offered a white label solution that we could offer to our clients
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
Overall value for money was better in SharpSpring and also the investment in the beginning is much smaller. The pricing model was monthly based and fit to us instead of huge annual invoices. Also the fact that the license covered a huge amount of analyzed page views and sent …
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
SharpSpring gives you 98% of the functionality of HubSpot at a much more competitive price. It loses out a little on ease of use and reporting, but once you have got up to speed with SharpSpring there is little that you miss from HubSpot, and the fact that the CRM is included …
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
HubSpot is too expensive for most companies when they start really using the features involved. SharpSpring does nearly everything they do, and what they do share is just as good, for a fraction of the price.
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
The best example I like to use against SharpSpring is HubSpot. For the cost, SharpSpring wins every time. The features are a close tie.
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
We've used other marketing automation platforms currently and in the past and SharpSpring can go toe-to-toe with the best of them. The cost of SharpSpring is extremely competitive and they give you 100,000 contacts right off the bat without charging for more, which is really …
Chose SharpSpring (discontinued)
I didn't use it, but it was among my options. Undoubtedly because of the costs, and because different tools had to be integrated, I decided to discard it. In addition, from the IT area they have been working with Salesforce for years. Since it was not profitable to integrate …
HubSpot Marketing Hub
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
Hubspot is a more robust and complete tool, whereas Mailchimp is simply focused on email marketing. Hubspot has more integrations, and allows us to do more measurement, assigning roles, and complete campaign management and reporting.
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
It looked more complete than Mailchimp and Pipedrive is only CRM (Sales), so we didn't have much options at that moment. I'd now consider Mautic maybe, or I'd need to spend a lot of time on doing the courses and learning how to master HubSpot so I could use it better than I do …
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
While Mailchimp and Hootsuite themselves offer a nice set of features (let's leave Mailchimp's merely non-existent end-user support alone) having them all and even more under one hood is really really cool. And that's what HubSpot offers altogether. HubSpot's user-friendly …
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
Mailchimp and Hootsuite are great but they do not have all the features that HubSpot offers. HubSpot allows you to integrate your marketing and your CRM all in one simple and user-friendly platform. As much as we loved Mailchimp and Hootsuite, they really only worked for social …
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
While they are good in their own ways, I've always found them incomplete for implementing an all-round marketing strategy. This is the tool that integrates marketing and sales services making it easier for teams to collaborate and bring in good results. Additionally, I really …
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
HubSpot Marketing Hub is far more user-friendly compared to Get Respond and Mailchimp which is known for being complex and requiring a steep learning curve. HubSpot’s drag-and-drop builder for emails, landing pages, and workflows is ideal for users who don’t have advanced …
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
It is an all in one solution that makes it possible to just work with one system for CRM, marketing, sales, etc. Better reports this way and this supports the customer journey. The contact/customer data is at the center of everything so no sales calls, emails, etc. will be sent …
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
I've used and evaluated several other marketing automation tools in addition to HubSpot Marketing Hub. Some of the notable ones include Marketo, Pardot, and Eloqua.

Each of these platforms has its own unique strengths and weaknesses, and I've found that they can be better …
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
we found that SharpSpring was really well suited for a small agency like ourselves. It had many (not all) of the functionalities that HubSpot has at a way better price. The problem was that we would be locked into a contract. Also, it wasn’t as streamlined and high tech as …
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
Hubspot quickly became the preferred tool for our Marketing Manager across to our resident in-house Hubspot guru. Integrating the sales and marketing tools in one place in Hubspot rather than third parties just made total sense to us.
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
With WordPress I can implement various Inbound tactics, but to achieve the complete cycle I would have to install plugins and many additional services, which is unsustainable. HubSpot brings together all the actions in one place and in an intuitive way.
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
Hubspot offers a much larger portfolio of products and services than Infusionsoft. HubSpot's inbound marketing software allows businesses to transform the way that they market online. Its service portfolio includes social media publishing and monitoring, blogging, SEO, website …
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
After having demos from a couple of local CRM vendors we decided to go ahead with Hubspot as it has good features, reliability and customer support
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
HubSpot provides an easy to use interface, with everything a business requires to deliver Digital marketing. We host our website, make use of Landing Pages, CTAs. Great reporting and campaign metrics, social media management. Superb support service and a perfect marketplace of …
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
HubSpot is a middle of the road platform compared to other similar platforms that can be overly simple or overly complex. HubSpot is a great starting point for organizations wanting to invest in inbound marketing and/or marketing automation without having to invest heavily in …
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
HubSpot offers a great low/no cost option to get started with several channels and grow leads quickly. It's easier to set up than some of its competitors and can be managed by a small team. Eventually as a company grows and adds to the team another platform may be required but …
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
HubSpot is more lightweight than Salesforce and Pardot, but also easier to use and manage. While I've found Pardot to be highly unreliable, HubSpot's performance never disappointed—for what it is. Again, it's a simpler tool, but sometimes that's all that's needed. For a small …
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
We were using Wordpress with countless plugins - Aweber, MailChimp, Salesforce, Zapier, Buffer - you name and we probably used it. Plus loads of third party analytics e.g. Moz. It was a nightmare.
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
HubSpot does a number of marketing activities all in one, easy platform. We can do things like email, blog, lead nurturing, keyword research, reports, buyer personas, etc.
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
HubSpot is an all around inbound marketing suite while the others are just pieces.
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
In the past, I've worked with companies that use both Marketo and Pardot. Pardot is an absolutely horrible solution, I don't know why anyone would ever buy it or use it. There are many way better options that are much cheaper than Pardot, so why even bother with their solution? …
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
We were actually using Marketo and switched to HubSpot part way through our marketing contract. We found that Marketo is highly customizable but getting even basic things to work was incredibly difficult. Also, there was no API integration with AdWords/LinkedIn so tracking …
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
SharpSpring seemed cheaper, but it did not have the same functionalities as HubSpot and it looked a lot harder to learn and use. We were also told that the analytics are completely unreliable.

Infusionsoft, again, didn't have all the tools HubSpot offers, so we couldn't keep …
Chose HubSpot Marketing Hub
  • Great customer service, they are friendly yet professional.
  • HubSpot is so user-friendly.
  • They have amazing certification programs that takes your marketing skills to the next level.
Intuit Mailchimp
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
I really enjoyed HubSpot Marketing Hub, but with Mailchimp, you get more bang for your buck. Although Hubspot has a better opportunity for customization with the email templates, with Mailchimp I feel that the process of creating a campaign is easier, faster, and more simple. …
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Intuit Mailchimp is more affordable, scalable for all team sizes, has a shorter SMS registration approval timeframe, integrates with more platforms, and doesn't require training to get started.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
It was the most sophisticated, but easy to use platform. I also had some experience in Mailchimp prior, so I was already familiar with the tool. Additionally, it was great having the ability to effectively manage SMS and email—all under one roof.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
HubSpot is great for a more advanced business and one that is also looking for more tech abilities in their processes. Also, HubSpot is modular while Mailchimp is all inclusive with their features.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
I have used a lot of email marketing tools over the years and Intuit Mailchimp is one that I keep going back to, it simple and easy to use, no messing around and it does what it says one tin.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
HubSpot is definitely more complicated than Intuit Mailchimp, but has a lot more detailed features in my opinion.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Not as complex as some, but easy to use and cost effective for our clients.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Compared to rivals like Constant Contact or Benchmark, Mailchimp boasts more robust testing capabilities. Its intuitive interface and wealth of integrations also make it ideal for streamlining marketing stacks. While powerful, alternatives like HubSpot may offer deeper …
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Mailchimp is a great tool for smaller businesses and businesses just starting out. It is easy to learn and generally have very few glitches. SharpSpring was very hard to operate and the EDM's we created looked clunky and dated. My company have just started moving over to …
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Mailchimp is the better choice for small businesses, but it starts to lose its power and luster when you scale and want more power, features, and email-focused reliability. As a jack of all trades, it gets the job done—but it's now the email powerhouse on the block.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
I would say that Mailchimp is better than MailerLite in terms of its abilities. It has the capacity to do more than simple newsletters but does hit a cap fairly quickly. It is a much more affordable price point than ActiveCampaign and Hubspot. It also has wide adoption so lots …
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
MailChimp has much better UI and features when it comes to email marketing compared with Hubspot. The templates library is very rich as well and reporting and analytics are similar.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
I think hubspot is a lot better for automated emails requiring business logic and more complex requirements, which is generally what i do. however if you are sending out more straightforward email marketing campaigns for a newsletter, product updates, or otherwise already …
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Mailchimp is way more professional and easier to use than Constant Contact. It has a higher level of polish and better UX as well. Hubspot is better for larger business and organizations and it has deeper integrations with Microsoft Office and other business tools. It is …
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Mailchimp has a great feature set when compared to some of the other tools I've used, and it is a great value for the money. Even the free version of Mailchimp offers a good number of features to let you test it out to see if it is worthwhile to invest in.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
I think Mailchimp is subpar compared to them.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Mailchimp is generally a simpler solution, and I've picked it for multiple companies because of that. I also like that Mailchimp does better on delivery than just about anywhere else. The brand is also fun and powerful.

Mailchimp needs to keep their system clean and not put so …
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Constant Contact, Delivra.
I selected [MailChimp] after reviewing several other platforms and selected it based on its ease of use, simplicity and cost structure. It's easy to understand and they continue to add new features to the platform. It's a great tool for starting an …
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Other competing software may have more bells and whistles, but it is too cumbersome and has many parts that only advanced users can operate.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Mailchimp is very user-friendly and does not require a lot of experience to be competitive. While not all its features are as deep as others, it is the only tool that has proven to allow us to get results the fastest.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Mailchimp offers a complete marketing solution that an online media organization ever needs. The automation features provided by Mailchimp can not be seen on its competitors. The integration of Mailchimp with popular CMS platforms like WordPress is very easy and stable than …
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Mailchimp offers a lot of customizations and automation in a simple form that is available in larger, more expensive platforms. The email builder is probably the best in Mailchimp out of the other platforms because of the ability to easily customize the templates and also code …
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Mailchimp has all the features you'll need for the most part in its free version. The advantage HubSpot has is just its connectivity with its CRM and other tools. Constant Contact is outdated and antiquated, in my opinion. Even if you have to get more space in Mailchimp for …

SharpSpring is great for creating and tracking campaigns that span multiple channels. With the Salesforce integration, we are able to keep our Sales team focused inside Salesforce without them needing to learn a new tool. Our Marketing team uses SharpSpring to nurture leads before handing them off to the Sales team. Though the features are available, SharpSpring would not be suitable for social media management or blogs; our third-party tools do a better job at that.

HubSpot
As I said previously, I was not a fan at the beginning because, like everyone, I don't take change so well. Once I started following leads through HubSpot Marketing Hub, I integrated it with my email and created templates for what I needed, I started to see the positives immediately. My time working was better spent as I eliminated time put in routine tasks. I was able to track all communication in HubSpot Marketing Hub, we created systems in the office assigning tasks to one another and, through HubSpot Marketing Hub, our leads were able to book meetings in my calendar automatically. To be honest, if you are in sales and marketing, I cannot think of scenarios where HubSpot Marketing Hub cannot help. All I would like to say is, when using templates, pay attention to where you send them - you may need some personalization. I would encourage the management of HubSpot Marketing Hub to create short tutorials for beginners like me who need to configure and start using various features: setting up deals, templates, and dashboards.

For any E-commerce related needs, like you need to see a list of customers who have added products to cart but did not purchase, this can be done really easily, but if your e-commerce provider provides integration, then it is best suited. Most of the systems in the Market provide out-of-the-box integration. Their API is also very easy it can be integrated to any language. You can integrate it into your custom developed system and use the features, like adding customers to specific lists. Also, if your lists become really big, then their system can get a bit slow to respond via API, so you might need a strategy for how you are gonna fetch the data using API.

  • All-in-one software - the main thing HubSpot does well is the breadth of functionality.
  • Easy of use - personally, I find it more intuitive than Marketo, which is the other MAP that I know well.
  • Ads - I like that we can drill down on ads by channel, ad group, campaign, and even create and see performance data at each level.

  • Mailchimp allows you to manage your mailing list really well. You can subscribe people, unsubscribe people manage the mailing list directly into segments, and what not.
  • Mailchimp has features where you can create campaigns based on your mailing lists and send out newsletters to your subscribers based on a multitude of parameters that you can setup. Such as send email daily, weekly, monthly and they also have event based mails that you can send out.
  • Mailchimp also has a feature where you can design your emails. The look and aesthetics are very important when sending emails to your subscribers and all those needs are addressed here.

Cons
Discontinued Products
  • The landing page builder is a bit hard to use. Doesn’t have much flexibility.
  • Sometimes confusing between types of workflows to use. Opportunity versus visual.
  • If you imported contacts that weren’t formatted correctly. It is hard to delete a bull amount. Need to type DELETE for each one manually. No bull options to make changes.

  • While Hubspot has added some collaborative tools, I think this could improve. I'd like to see more options to comment on emails and ways of being able to share out changes as well as approval channels.
  • The ability to update ads via the calendar is pretty cumbersome. There's no good way to bulk edit or update. You have go into each one individually.
  • Real time edits would be nice. If you have multiple people working on the same thing, you'll get kicked out and your changes might not be saved.

We've had Mailchimp for about ten years, I want to say. I started with the company about four years ago, and I don't see us ever diverting to another source. It's easy for us to use, and we have all our clients already built into the database. I imagine we'll use them for as long as we have the company.

This rating is coming from an administrative perspective. With so many features, workflows, dashboards, and more, there is certainly a lot going on, and even the most savvy software user can get a little overwhelmed when trying to decide how to best implement and utilize the platform to its full potential. That being said, the SharpSpring platform is well-implemented and well-organized, with most solutions being fairly intuitive, once you have a grasp of the software. It is fairly easy to learn, but difficult to master. Just like any powerful platform, however, the complexity is worth it, and once you are comfortable navigating and problem solving within SharpSpring, it becomes a great marketing and sales tool which can do virtually anything you need it to.

While there are some frustrating things that pop up unexpectedly ("wait... I can't do X?"), I have found HubSpot to be easy to use and extremely helpful to my daily work. The documentation is really good, and when it's not helpful, the support staff have been amazing.

The interface is a bit complicated, and I need to spend some time to learn new functions and understanding how it works. I don't like working with email templates because of the limited customization options. However, functions like AI for generating emails, segmentation, and analytics still work well and are very useful.

They have had issues with system availability over the course of days. Sometimes the system is unusable, other times updates simply take a long time to show up. It's better now but, from a reliaibility standpoint, HubSpot is not Salesforce.com yet. Still great software though.

I have, in the 4+ years that I've used Mailchimp, never seen an issue that restricted the use of their software/tools. I don't know of a single time when they're system crashed or went down. I could be wrong, but I honestly haven't experienced any issues with outages, errors or unplanned downtime

With all the new features in HubSpot, the system can get a tad slow sometimes... That said, most of the time it is lightning fast and I have no problems. Because most of the integrations are API, they silently work in the background. I have not had trouble with lag due to HubSpot integration

I haven't noticed any slow speeds from Mailchimp or their tools. I think the landing pages load quickly and look nice. The email reports and editing operates smoothly and doesn't take time to load. Additionally, when I use Mailchimp in conjunction with Zapier + Hubspot I don't notice any drag between any of these tools

The support is great which really helps overcome challenges if you become stuck and the training videos are great too. Same-day replies are great and I even got some help with some CSS code on the chat. Not many organizations would do this or even respond.

During the few times I've needed it, HS support has been accessible, helpful and efficient. Often rolling up their sleeves to make changes for you as opposed to leaving you with a list of instructions to decipher on your own.

I did the 2-day classroom at HubSpot's corporate office in Cambridge. First off, it was amazing to see their corporate office in general. They have such a cool office environment. But it was also great to have the ability to learn in a workshop format with other HubSpot users and meet my Account Manager/ Inbound Marketing Consultant in person.

I went through Inbound Marketing University in 2006. Great training and helped my transition from traditional (outbound) marketing to inbound marketing that I've been able to apply to a number of businesses from wastewater and water reuse, to professional services and SaaS. Share information of value to build awareness and trust. Answer customers' questions in a transparent way to generate more qualified leads. Understand the difference between a marketing qualified lead and a sales qualified lead and put together a lead nurturing program. Your sales and marketing efforts will see significant ROI.

Overall I would say to be patient and bring everyone who will be touching the platform to the onboarding sessions. The Virtual Classroom lets you onboard as quickly or slowly as you want. Sales, marketing, design, account management, get 'em all in on it. For the most part, they will be happy to use this platform. I recommend getting as many people as possible to see the SharpSpring demo.

My biggest piece of advice for those who are implementing Hubspot is that you need to devote the time up front and learn how to use the product. Once you learn how to use Hubspot, it will be much more effective as well as much easier to use in the long run

It's pretty easy to get up and running! There's a slight learning curve on a few things, but once you find where everything is located, you can import your list and send your first email. It really makes our clients feel great to see how quickly they can get that first email out.

We use different CRMs for different clients, mostly due to budget and other requirements. SharpSpring from Constant Contact is in the middle, price-wise, but is slightly more user-friendly than ActiveCampaign when it comes to certain things, such as drip campaigns and workflows. Though the price can be prohibitive to some clients, it is extremely robust. I definitely prefer the list-building, the ability to send smart emails and the WYSIWYG editor.

Other competing software such as Zoho and Boomtown may have more bells and whistles, but it is too cumbersome and has many parts that only advanced users can operate. With HubSpot, each function is within reach of the average agent. It doesn't overpromise and then makes you feel incompetent when you can't use it all...

I don't think they are comparable; we use Google Ads to put our website at the top of the list when someone googles certain words. We use meta business to manage our social media. Google aims to gain customers, while Mailchimp is used to interact with both existing and new customers.

HubSpot is addressing this more and more. Currently you can assign tasks to designated sales teams, which grow as you grow. They've added free baseline products for those just getting started. These and more contribute to the scalability of HubSpot - so I gave it an 8 and am hoping for more in the future!

Mailchimp over the years I've used it has grown in leaps and bounds. They have added so many additional features than were previously available. They are truly an all-in-one marketing platform now. If you're a small operation and just want to add email to your marketing efforts, they're there for you. If you're a larger operation and want to start sending postcard advertisements, they can do that. If you'd good with that and want to kick up your marketing by going social, you can do that on their platform. They are truly able to be as small as you need, but also get quite large in whatever it is you'd like to do through their system.

  • One of my retail web store clients was sending out email specials and notices about once a month. After clicking the send button, we would watch Google Analytics and the current site users would light up immediately. Often, the current site visitors would pop up to 20, 30 or more after the email was sent. On a normal day, seeing 1 or 2 online users would be OK.
  • Pretty much in all cases, we could see an uptick in positive activity after sending out a Intuit Mailchimp email to a list.
