Considered Both Products
Microsoft Teams
Chose Microsoft Teams
For me, Teams is also very useful and very user friendly just like the others.
ON24
Chose ON24
ON24 is better than Microsoft Teams in every way. Teams lets you down in so many areas, especially in the biggest way - human interaction. ON24 makes webinars fun, engaging, and each company can tailor them to their needs. Teams feels like the basic "budget" option, while ON24 …
Chose ON24
In my opinion, there is no comparison as ON24 goes above and beyond Microsoft Teams.
Chose ON24
ON24 is way better than BlueJeans and Live. We are happy that we found you!
Chose ON24
We selected ON24 due to organizational alignment and tool consolidation but I am more than happy with the decision to move over to this tool. It has been by far the easiest and least frustrating webinar tool I have used in 5+ years of digital marketing. It allows me to bring …
Chose ON24
ON24 has a nice interface and is very customizable. It's great if you are trying to do more than just 1 webinar at a time and are trying to do an online conference or series of events. The automatic recording and storage of the sessions is a real game changer.
Chose ON24
From what I've seen, ON24 is built specifically to meet the needs of event marketing (or marketing generally), versus the other platforms which are more about simply providing a mechanism to hold virtual meetings. The integration with sales and marketing systems is really …
Chose ON24
We selected ON24 because it offers a great experience for presenters and attendees of events.
Chose ON24
ON24 provides way more opportunities for customization of the virtual spaces. ON24 has an efficient process for uploading resources and making them accessible to the attendees. ON24 has more protection measures to ensure only registered clients can attend the sessions. ON24 …
Chose ON24
I think when it comes to the list of features that you want for your webinar platform, ON24 checks more boxes than any other provider. It's not perfect. We will likely use a different platform when we need the audience to be able to come off mute but that's really our only …
Chose ON24
Better technology and scalable for more attendees.
Chose ON24
Teams can be considered a competitor for ON24. It is free for us to use. However, it does not allow for the same level of analytics or customization. There is no back-end area for the presenters that allows for better control of the presentation. Cheaper, but misses on a lot of …
Chose ON24
new to this platform and it was recommended by ABA
Chose ON24
It does webinars better than any other platform.
Chose ON24
Most of the webinars I attended were using the softwares above. Though ON24 is pretty unique among them, other softwares are more standout.
Chose ON24
ON24 is far more affordable than Webex. The team had a lot of issues with audio when it came to Zoom. From day one to current - the sales team has experienced zero audio issues. We've also received feedback that the way in which the ON24 console is set up is much more …
Chose ON24
They are easier to use and have way more abilities than other platforms.
Chose ON24
It's been a few years since I've used Webex Webinars so I'm not sure if all the features are still the same as they were, but I much prefer ON24 in the fact that there is no passing of the controls. It's nice to know that anyone can advance the slides on their end and you don't …
Chose ON24
I think ON24 sacks up pretty well against most of these the only downfall I have is that last-minute changes or quick turnaround aren't usually a good fit. During a call, they are amazing its those last-minute issues or changes that would need to get to the tech and have them …
Chose ON24
I have found ON24 to be the most reliable, easy to use, and intuitive platform. It's great to have cheat sheets and tools to send to my presenters who may have never used ON24 before that day. Other platforms are confusing or have too many steps involved. ON24 makes it easy to …
Chose ON24
Easy to manage, no need for downloaded software, easy to navigate, easy to understand, and almost no buttons to click, no settings. When you go to the link it is as-is. No need to turn on videos no unmute button so it's safe on the background noise.
Chose ON24
ON24 blows teams out of the water. Teams are very one-dimensional in the things you can do. ON24 really allows for viewers to have an experience. Although there are a lot of things like breakout rooms that are an additional cost, a lot of the features that come with the base …

I would say that Microsoft Teams is much more beginner friendly than other communication and collaboration tools. I find it so much easier to use and it has so much more options to customize it to your liking. I have been using Microsoft Teams for years now and every time that I have a meeting, I always default to it.

Cons
Microsoft
  • The calendar on Teams doesn't always "talk" to the calendar in Outlook. You'd think they'd be mapped to each other but I consistently run into issues where they don't sync.
  • Teams video calls consistently have issues with host permissions. I've listed co-hosts ahead of time, and we still run into issues with other people downloading attendance or pulling Poll data or recordings.
  • Teams had a good idea of pre-scheduling messages in the chat, but that feature is buggy and I'm often unable to check if the message was pre-scheduled -- the preview disappears and then will fire off anyways which makes it difficult to prepare for meetings or edit items.
  • it's not possible to pre-schedule Polls. We use the poll feature to collect CSAT scores, and the facilitator currently has to remember to manually click the button --there's no way to schedule out the poll to automatically be sent out.
  • Breakout functionality is incredibly clunky
  • Their group/channel functionality is clunky and hard to use

  • There was a recent update within the past year where the UX designer or developer thought it would be best to wide all titles from the audience view until they placed their mouse on top of the window. That was the worst mistake, as we have a moderator script where we tell the audience what each of the tool bars are and they can’t grasp what the tool is without putting their mouse there. From an accessibility standpoint point, it’s back to 1999 when there was no laws about accessibility.
  • Number one above is a major pain point.
  • ON24 needs to do a better job of introducing features and soliciting feedback from their customers vs making a high impactful change like #1 described above.

Microsoft Teams is included with our Office 365 subscription and we have no intention of migrating off of Office 365 and Microsoft products. Since Microsoft Teams is included for free with our Office 365 subscription, and since we enjoy all the features, benefits, and functionality, there is no question that our team will continue to use the product

ON24 is everything we expected and everything we needed. It's simple to use, extremely customizable, and scales very easily. The integration to our CRM makes ON24 major lead generator for our sales team from our established webinars series. We can automate lead delivery to our sales team as well. If anything, we will look to expand our partnership in the future.

Usability
Microsoft
How I wish I had discovered Microsoft Teams before, and what it can do, especially in an organization that runs on Microsoft 365. The ability of Teams to seamlessly work with other tools like Power BI, OneDrive, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is just amazing. My favorite part is copy-pasting the URL, and it is not the link that shows up, but the file name. It just makes whatever I share more accessible to the recipient.

97% of our attendees say it is the best trainings they have every attended. But they other 3% have a horrible experience (while watching the event live) interesting fact. On24 uses two different encoders for live vs OnDemand. I have never had issues with the On-Demand experience. My only complaints come during live events

Sometimes (it may be my computer) i cant login to ON24. I create a new PW and then i still cant get in. I clear cache/try new browser etc. and nothing works. I come back in a few hours and its like the problem never existed, its the strangest thing. Outside of that everything works pretty seamless. We've ran into a few bumps with Marketo talking to ON24 and passing reg through but have that figured out now. Not being able to be on a VPN when connecting to webcam on the presenter side does cause issues for our government speakers.

Support Rating
Microsoft
The overall support provided by Microsoft for Microsoft Teams has been quite good but there is still some room for improvements. Microsoft needs to proactively work on fixing the open bugs in order to provide a seamless experience to the users. But over the service and experience provided by the Microsoft team have been quite satisfactory.

ON24 support is really good with the 24/5 support chat line, where someone actually responds within 30 seconds. The customers success team is also really good and our rep is very helpful with all our questions. Whenever we have more technical questions, she will bring on a IT designer or a tech specialist on our calls for additional comments and help.

  • Microsoft Teams has helped an entire company become more efficient, which saves the company money and frees up time for workers to focus on other areas.
  • By having a secure place to store information used by multiple departments, not only is time saved searching for information but also ensuring that an entire organization has access to the same and accurate information, which prevents errors and confusion.
  • Using Microsoft Teams you can work remotely and still be able to effectively communicate with your coworkers and not miss any important notifications or information.

  • We get a lot of MQLs from our webinars. The integration with SFDC is a game changer over platforms that don't offer that integration.
  • The addition of emojis and chat to our event consoles has greatly increased our engagement.
  • We love marketing the fact that on-demand viewers can still submit questions and we'll answer them by email. Who else can say that?
  • We would like to be able to make changes to all console elements after events have taken place. Sometimes stuff just needs to be updated.
  • As we improve our audience segmentation, we are looking forward to the segment customization options that are now available on the console.
  • The webinars ON24 sponsors provide us with some great ideas for improving our overall strategic marketing.
