Users subscribe to NetSuite for an annual license fee. The license is made up of three main components: core platform, optional modules and the number of users. There is also a one-time implementation fee for initial setup. New modules and users and can be added as a business grows.
I previously used an internally developed compensation tool. The advantage was that the automatically collected lines and manual adjustments were triggered automatically at the end of each day for all the organization working with the tool. There were no overlaps of the running …
I used Xactly Express and it was a nightmare compared to Xactly Incent. Incent is a lot more professional. It's more flexible, has more features, and runs a lot faster and smoother. Excel is great with flexibility if you do not have a lot of reps or complex plans. However, its …
At the time we looked into it, Xactly was very much ahead of the curve compared to Varicent and how it functioned. We specifically wanted something that had a robust reporting engine and also integrated into Salesforce.com so our field teams could have a single point of entry …
NetSuite ERP is well suited for many things including: Revenue recognition and billing management, inventory-linked sales fulfillment, cross functional/multi-department coordination Not that well suited for CRM and sales activities or highly customized workflows, reports, interfaces etc. The customizability of NS as a whole leave a lot to be desired. We have a third party that does most of our customizations because it's extremely time consuming and needlessly difficult.
Being that Xactly Incent is custom built to meet our specific plan requirements, it has been well suited for almost everything. One scenario where we could use some improvement is manager reporting. Better visibility into the roll up of any team goals and team actuals. Also some of the incentive payment information is a bit clunky. We calculate incentives each quarter on a YTD basis and then subtract was has already been paid. Sometimes this creates a shortfall for the sales rep that needs to carry forward. Reporting for this doesn't flow easily.
Revenue recognition. We get information from Salesforce and we build the revenue recognition engine that I'm really pleased. We avoid a lot of manual work by doing this.
We send out invoices electronically from the system. We use it for the fixed asset now with the new lease opinion that we just adopted in January 2022. We leveraged technology, specifically the features in NetSuite to help us account for that.
Certain exports out of the system. There are some pages that you can export to Excel and some pages you can't, I don't know why. So it seems like it should be all functionalities there.
Some of the bank feeds have broken quite a bit and I'm not sure why. So we have to constantly go in there and readjust that on the reconciliation tab. I know that's new and robust and it's going well. It's more of taking out GL data instead of what's remaining in that account. As far as if I'm looking at a rec for a particular asset, I know there's GL data that goes through there. What I want to know is what's the balance in that account made up of as far as what's remaining there. So that's the kind of stuff I would buy with advice.
When clearing out or deleting the data in Incent, certain areas allow deletion only one by one. Eg position, people etc. Would be great if this can be done in bulk.
Could improve in the style/view/functioning of Incent user interface
Can implement more features for end users interface to keep them more engaged and ignoring a feel of boring UI
NetSuite is able to cover all of our needs, spanning multiple departments and managerial levels. We use it daily for a multitude of functions, including creating promotions, estimating inventory, pulling historical reports, forecasting sales, and more. Overall, we're very satisfied with NetSuite as an ERP solution and recommend it to medium to large businesses.
Xactly Incent is a great tool for calculating commissions. The interface is user friendly and the system is set up in a way that allows for multiple setups for each commission plan. Over the last couple years since I have been on the commission team we have been able to optimize our plans to promote scalability. Our sales and accounting teams have become familiar with navigating the system which promotes transparency. From an audit perspective, Incent provides us with the reports and data we need to provide to our auditors.
Provides a good platform for all needs, and businesses have realized many benefits. It has lots of features and can be highly customized, but it is not the easiest or most user-friendly for users. Additionally, the time and cost required to implement the system are substantial.
The devil is in the detail. It's not intuitive to use, also not for Sales employees. You need to train them. For superusers like me you need a lot of training to administrate the system. It has a lot of functionalities and complexity like staging and upload orders, reset triggers, updating & creating rate tables. A lot of formulars are necessary to learn.
It has been very reliable. I can only think of 1-2 times in 4.5 years that we have had issues getting in, and in each case were able to get back in within 1 hour. There has not been a major downtime
Xactly Incent is always available, they have planned monthly maintenance on Friday nights but are very proactive to communicate it. Monthly maintenance is useful as they address any bugs and also are constantly upgrading the user interface to make it easier to use.
Most of the time the performance is very good. Pages load in a few seconds; financial reports take less than 5 seconds; basic searches take a few seconds. But performance can be sporadic throughout the day and cause the run time to triple.
Xactly Incent performs extremely well. I have not experienced it "slowing down" when usage is heavy. This is particularly true when it comes to the regular recalculation of credits and commissions. It is not uncommon for Xactly to be dealing with hundreds of thousands of orders/credits in a pay period, but the system handles it well. Xactly recently changed their calculation engine and the speed for regular refreshes increased significantly.
I would like to give 8 rating for NetSuite support and reason for that is below: Whenever we faced any technical or functional issues we tried to reach out to NEtSuite support but response was not immediate. We told them about the urgency of the issue but still we were not getting response on time. Then, we have to reach out to AE to get things resolved.
They take the time to understand the system. They keep us updated on the status of our cases. Finally, their continued follow up ensuring the initial issue was resolved is very nice. They will not close the case out until they have confirmed that our issue has been completely resolved and fixed.
I had in person training for a day when first got the software. The training was good. The challenge was that there was a large gap between training and when we went live so we forgot quite a lot
It was great, good explanations and good training material provided, we were able to get a really good idea of how to use the system. I also think that it was enough time to learn how to setup the system.
Xactly offers training on new releases on a monthly basis and training on basic principles regularly via registration. My experience with both is that they do not provide the in-depth knowledge necessary to truly master the system and advanced courses still do not go to the level needed to autonomously manage the system and plans. Professional services are a large part of any cloud based service such as Xactly and I feel a reliance on such paid consulting services is a great money-maker for Xactly.
I felt NetSuite Professional Services did an excellent job of guiding us in the implementation. I also felt our internal teams were a little resistant to the change and engagement of new software. Had we performed better engaging and buying into the new software, I would be able to rate the implementation better. Therefore, the lower number should not be viewed as a deficiency with the software or the professional services teams, but as an reminder of how important complete buy-in from the local users is.
We have been satisfied with the implementation overall. The person from Xactly professional team was on our site to support the implementation and give us guides and instructions on how to operate the system in our case. it was really helpful moments. We have learned what and how to test Xactly Incent
I was not the selector of the vendor for NetSuite ERP, and it is now the interface I am most used to. I would recommend SAP and their full suite of products, currently only using Concur, as I think it has a slightly cleaner and less cluttered interface, however I do not know if it has all the many features that we use in NetSuite ERP as a global organisation of many individuals.
I have been working on Incent since one year. I found it to be the greatest tool for calculating commissions. From credits to commissions to sketches, the system has it all, including the ability to conduct reports and statistics. It has a lot of features and customizations that are necessary for creating complex commission plans and calculating commissions. I enjoy its modern and user-friendly interface that makes the product more fascinating. Furthermore, the team's latest updates are excellent and make the product more effective and friendlier
We have been able to scale our business 25X without any major overhaul with Netsuite. Its dashboard setup makes onboarding new employees very easy and allows data to be shared across multiple offices. Its cloud setup does not put any pressure on IT to scale servers or other infrastructure. We have been able to become much more efficient in all aspects of the business.
It's very flexible. In most cases it can be adapted to your needs by programming which may cost extra money. We have a lot of different complans and close to 1.000 employees using Xactly in EMEA. It's mainly used by Sales and Finance
I would say it has been a great ROI. I'm fairly new to Titan, but I will say especially at my last company, which is a retail company, the ROI was almost immediate because the systems that they were using were really suffering and it was affecting the bottom line. So NetSuite was a savior for them, really in the most literal sense. They would not have survived very much longer on the systems that they had. So to go to something like NetSuite where everything was all together in one platform was a huge advantage. And it didn't take long for us to realize that investment was well worth it.
I am not aware of the company investment, but the overall result is fantastic. Employees visibility to commissions and components of their commissions is great. They have much more accessibility to their numbers and better understanding of how commissions are calculated. They can also review commissions at their convince on the application.
There seems to be more employee engagement and satisfaction with the overall commission process and reporting with Xactly Incent.
