Google Forms is being used across the company and by companies that I advise. It's easy to create a Google account and now with more functionalities also easier to monitor the result of submission.
  • Simple to use
  • Integrated with Google
  • Secure
  • Stable
  • Speed to Market
  • More templates
  • Native integration with other platforms
  • Possibly remove some 'small letters' in the bottom
Can be used by almost anyone since its so simple to use.
The security provided by Google also provides a scalable platform.
Some usage scenarios are school forms, feedback forms, etc.
Where to avoid its usage:
- when we want a full white label form since it is clear that its powered by Google

I use Google Forms to get to know my audience / contacts as they join my list, for scholarship applications, and for some feedback. It's included in G-Suite so using it doesn't add to overhead and best used for situations where a quick simple, un-styled form is appropriate. It's a quick and easy solution when needing to quickly, easily, and reliably collecting information.
  • It's extremely simple and intuitive
  • It's included in the G-Suite which makes it extremely cost effective
  • It's reliable
  • Logic branding could be vastly improved
  • Increased styling options
  • Increased reporting
It's perfect in situations where you need a quick, simple solution. To be honest, I don't think of Google Forms as much as I should. For example, I needed to have people sign up to receive tester status for a new app and a Google form is much easier, taking almost no type or styling to pop out, whereas a more robust solution takes a bit more time - which doesn't seem like a big deal, but when you're hemorrhaging 5 minutes here and 10 minutes there, it really adds up quickly!

  • Saving time, in turn saving money
  • Having to use an additional form builder for forms needing more robust logic
  • Having to use an additional form builder for forms needing more robust styling
  • Typeform and SurveyMonkey
Typeform: Typeform wins in most cases, having the ability for complex logic mapping, robust styling options, and branding. However, the simplicity of Google Forms wins out when you just need a quick, easy form. Price-wise, Google Forms wins.

SurveyMonkey: SurveyMonkey has more options but Google Forms is still much more preferred - primarily due to brand trust and price (although SurveyMonkey does have a free tier, I'm already in Google Suite every day so this is just a no-brainer.
Typeform, HighLevel, Kajabi, ConvertKit, Zoom Video Webinar, RingCentral, Glip, RingCentral Meetings, SmarterQueue, Nifty, Mailgun, Facebook for Business, Canva, Trello, BL.INK, Descript, Hotjar, GlockApps, Tailwind, Shutterstock, Firebase, Google Ads (formerly AdWords), Google Drive, Apple iCloud, TestFlight, QuickBooks Online, LastPass for Business, FileZilla, iMovie, Adobe Audition, Adobe Illustrator CC, Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, Adobe PhotoShop, WooCommerce, BombBomb, Loom, Upwork, Stripe, Geneva, Buffer, Dropbox, OneDrive, Vimeo, ManyChat, Acuity Scheduling, a Squarespace company, Zoom.ai Meeting Assistant
The usability is simple, easy, and effortless. It's intuitive and I have yet to come across a contact or client who was not able how to figure out how to effectively submit a form on their own. When it comes to simple and reliable, this is about as good as it gets.
I mean Google Support can be a headache, however there are TONS of resources available to find support on your own. Google has also stepped up their one on one support over the past few years immensely. I don't think I've ever had an actual issue in using or figuring out Google Forms, but I know where to find answers to solve issues myself and I know how to get in contact with someone directly.
  • It's intuitive, simple, and easy. Like my 6 year old nephew could probably set up a Google Form without issue type of easy.
  • This is where not having a lot of options is an advantage - even if you'd never used Google Forms, you'd easily be able to go through every option in a short amount of time and figure it out.
  • The ability to import questions makes it possible to make the form creation even easier.
  • The simplicity in making a multi-page form is also easy and intuitive
  • It you've ever used any Google product before, the interface is familiar and easy to understand.
  • Trying to make it look like it isn't a Google form (making it appear branded to the company and giving the applicant a custom experience)
  • The responses/submissions are a blob of info and not well organized. Unless you have the submissions going into an integration that will sort it and analyze it, it can be a frustrating sifting through the responses and results.
  • The inability to use conditional logic or allow the response to direct which questions are served
Yes, but I don't use it
GoogleForms lacks the ability for complex logic branching and the ability to truly design it in a custom manner. It's pretty obvious when you land on a GoogleForm that it is in fact a GoogleForm. This rating solely reflects the lack of flexibility which in turn makes it something that wouldn't usually be scaled.

That being said, if needing to scale a simple solution, GoogleForms would be up for the job.
In the years I've used GoogleForms I've never ran into any issues with the reliability or availability. Google is a gigantic company with essentially limitless resources which makes it very easy to trust that I will continue to be able to enjoy the same reliability I've come to know and expect from GoogleForms.
One of the things that comes as a benefit of the lack to create complex logic branching and truly custom design is that there isn't lot of room to bog down the software. GoogleForms has always loaded just as fast as my internet service and device would allow it. I'm not sure about front end integrations or integrations into the form itself, as I've never explored it, but on the backend, I've never had any issues with integrations channeling from GoogleForms from the GoogleForms's end of things.

Composed uses Google forms to create surveys for client research in the process of building ideal customer avatars. It's an easy way to collect large amounts of data for later sorting, and it provides a lot of control over how tight (name/email address required) or loose (anonymous) you want to be in collecting data from the people you survey.
  • The best part about Google Forms is that it's free. There are prettier solutions out there, but not at no cost, and that's important if you're running a small operation and won't use the product every month to generate the revenue to cover the cost of that solution.
  • I like that Forms has a lot of question types so that you can control the data type for graphable data but leave the responses open for answers that may directly find their way into your messaging.
  • It's also important that you can drop the data straight into a Google Spreadsheet so that you can manipulate it to look for trends.
  • Sorry, Google, but Forms is ugly. You can mess with the look a little bit to give it a branded feel, but you'll never get something beautiful like you might in Typeform or something similar. That said, it's hard to look a free gift horse in the mouth.
  • I'd like to see a few more response types offered.
The best marketing use I've found for Forms is collecting a good sample size for preliminary surveys to direct a company's messaging. If you can get enough participation to make it worthwhile, the ability to manage the data in Sheets is as good as about anything, and if you need to do more with it you can export a .CSV file and drop into another program (I've never needed this).

This is not the kind of software you want to wow a potential client with or use to collect prospect information from your website on. It never quite looks polished enough to use for your contact forms, etc...

  • None.
I've only played with Typeform, but if making surveys enjoyable and nice to look at is important to you, it's definitely a better product. Forms is the pragmatist's tool, not the artist's. Dubsado's survey tool is decent, but you don't have a way to collect broad data sets there, so Forms wins on that front.
  • I wouldn't call any of its function elegant, but it's simple enough, and it gets the job done.
  • My only trouble using it is that it's impossible to make look like your survey was built in this decade.
Yes
It's almost as easy to use on the phone as it is on a desktop.
The program is just intuitive to use. You don't have to spend time searching the internet for guides- it just works.

We have been using Google Forms to keep our team goal in order and keep our notes from our meetings documented. We have found that by using Google Forms in meetings it makes it easy for even our team members in Pennsylvania to participate and review the meeting notes at a later time.
  • The UI is awesome
  • The ease of google forms is very helpful
  • The ability to access forms from anywhere is very helpful
  • I wish we could co-edit the form when we are trying to figure out what we want on it. Kind of like in Google Docs.
I think there are times that we wouldn't use it, like when we are trying to do a vote or something that people didn't want to their identity to be known. But for the times where it doesn't matter if the person is linked to their answer I think it is great.

  • The positive is that we all stay connected with our decisions
  • Google Forms has also made it much easier to come to a decision instead of constantly emailing different people to get their answers.
  • Excel
We haven't used another software like Google Forms before but we used to use Excel and type everyones' names and what they wanted. It was always a mess and took forever to get answers from everyone. If we had numbers we would tally them like when we were doing a fundraiser. Being able to total all the donation amounts was nice.
Yes
We used to use Excel to keep track of what everyone wanted and who was coming to events etc. But now with Google Forms we don't have to import it and everything is right there for us. It is the perfect substitution and makes all of our lives a lot easier. With forms being our new tool all of the data that we were collecting like who would be attending event, what type of food people wanted there, etc., increased. I think because it is so simple to use people are more likely to reply which makes everything more accurate!

The price was the biggest thing. In the club that I'm in at college we needed a good cheap program that could help us keep organized with who was coming to events etc., so being able to uses Google Forms for free was an awesome advantage. Also the usability makes Google Forms above all the other free software out there.
The only thing that I wish we did when we were deciding to use Google Forms would be that we switched sooner. Once we found this product it made everything that we needed it for so much simpler and easier to do. It actually made our data we collected a lot more accurate too. One thing that might make more people switch quicker would be the advertising of this product. Until someone came up and said why aren't you using Google Forms for this, I had no idea that such a product existed.
No
I don't have the resources to pay for premium support, I am just an intern at my company and they haven't given me that much of a budget. Same goes for my school club we don't have the money to pay for the premium support and i don't think we really need it.
I like the support and the support team is very helpful. I do wish that there was an online chat instead of email, I don't know if this has changed because I haven't needed help in a while but that is the only thing that I wish google forms would include.
No
I lost one of my forms and I couldn't figure out where to look for it. It turns out that it was just on my other Google account but the support team was very nice and didn't make me feel dumb or anything and they helped me locate the form, which ended up saving me a lot of time.
  • I think checking the responses is pretty easy
  • Adding new options, in the list is pretty easy
  • I really like how easy it is to preview what the form is going to look like
  • I had a hard time figuring out how to edit the options once I sent it out (still don't know how).
  • I wish there was an online chat to help trouble shoot things quickly.
  • The aren't enough templates, I really like the made up ones so I wish there were more.
Yes, but I don't use it
I love google forms, it is simple enough to get all the voting and attendance done that we need. I rate it this high because I have recommended it to a lot of my friends at school who run clubs. It is very user friendly and I had almost no problems with it what so ever.
