Overall Satisfaction with ADP Workforce Now

We use ADP workforce now to track our employees' pay, hours, position, benefits, hire dates, employee info, progress trackers, talent descriptions, W2 forms, pay statements, and time off. Our entire organization uses ADP and a number of our business units actually use ADP to track individual hours. We are solving individual questions like "what am I paid", "where is my progress", "have I been promoted", "what time off have I accrued", "what benefits are provided and where can I find them" and ADP keeps all of those questions in an easy to look up location. These questions are very important to retention. We need to provide all of these answers to keep our rockstars. We also need to solve team problems in terms of where is head count, who reports to who, and what org charts look like. ADP solves those problems for us as well.
  • Pay breakouts. -AMAZING FEATURE- ADP gives you a pie chart with color specific breakdowns. The breakdowns then go granular to the very penny. This is helpful for employees to see their overall pay, their take-home pay, their tax payments, as well as their benefits paid. These numbers are all calculated for them on a pay statement, monthly, and annual basis. They can also compare paychecks and breakdowns to see differences. AMAZING FEATURE.
  • Another great feature is the ability to see and schedule time off. The employees are given what PTO they have accrued as well as a calculation of what they will have accrued by a certain date. This also breaks down what they have used and what their remaining balance is as well. This feature is great because our people can see what time off they can take and when they can take it. User interface is amazing because they can click on the time blocks they want and then schedule them for PTO.
  • Another great feature is the employee enrollment (benefits) location. Here the employee can see all the company benefits as well as what they are signed up for. They can change selections, submit life change events, and see what benefits they are taking a part of and benefiting from.
  • The reasons for time off are very difficult to understand. Our people use the wrong codes all the time.
  • The app has a great user experience and feel but the online desktop version feels outdated and clunky.
  • The app has the pie charts and pay statement breakdowns but the desktop version does not. Missing functionality here.
  • Positive ROI - employee self serve portal. Employees have all access and we don't even have to talk about pay breakdowns. This saves us an average of 1 hour a day at minimum.
  • Positive ROI - employee benefits. This saves us tons of time at end of year and during enrollments. We barely have to have company meetings and this is a huge ROI at end of year.
  • Positive ROI - on time off. Employees are always requesting time off and all we have to do is approve from the auto-generated email.
Before this information was available in ADP, we had paper payroll statements. They were always wrong and were literally drawn up using Excel spreadsheets. I personally spent at least 2-3 hours every pay statement correcting these for myself. I know that my colleagues each also spent the same amount of time that I did to correct these statements. That means that at least 6 hours every month were spent just going over wrongful pay statements and asking for the explanation. With ADP now tracking all of this, it is very easy to look over the entire breakdown, look at benefits paid, tax paid, and everything that we need (including reimbursement and HSA payments) without the need to contact HR. This is literally just 1 of the many time-saving events.
Zenefits was a product we looked at for a while and while it was intially exciting, we realized that with employees all over the US and mostly in the state of Utah, we could negotiate for our employees best. We selected ADP over Zenefits even though our relationship with Zenefits was great. The ability we have to track pay really helps out our employees.
  • Scenarios where ADP fits great = A company needing to track employees' pay, provide pay statements, and allow for easy access to benefits.
  • Scenario 2 = A company needs to track employee movement and employee reviews. Pay and advancement will come because of this tracking.
  • Less appropriate scenario = Company needs org charts and detailed reportings of chain of command.
