Overall Satisfaction with Procore

Procore was implemented within our construction company in order to be utilized for project management purposes. This relates to both field related coordination as well as drawing and financial. We use it for drawings, file storage, submittals, and RFI. Our entire company made the switch in all branch offices and I believe we are a Beta company in order to help the integration of Procore with our "Viewpoint Software" as well. The customer service I have experienced when an issue has arisen has been great and insightful. Even if an issue cannot be addressed at that exact moment, Procore helps to find an eventual solution.
  • Drawing recognition and update.
  • Update E-mails of "ball in court" details.
  • Ease of update of meeting minutes.
  • Integration with Viewpoint software.
  • Being able to override pre-existing rules or conditions easier.
  • Made everything more organized and streamlined. With multiple branch offices, it has been great to have consistency.
  • It has helped to organize an RFI and submittal into one area that is easy for subs to navigate.
  • It will hopefully provide a financial impact when we are able to implement with our Viewpoint software.
We use to use "Lotus Notes" and an internal server to store and send information. It was tough because each program had limitations the other did not. Procore has started to package all of the standard items we would typically need on a construction project.
Procore has been a great asset in coordinating drawings, submissions of RFIs and submittals for our construction project. It is a good source to get the most up to date information at all times whether in the field or the office. I think a little more training for architects and design professionals would be useful.

Using Procore

150 - Project Management.
3 - They have IT knowledge to be able to share with us as well as to be able to speak with Procore directly as needed.
  • Document Control
  • RFI
  • Submittal
  • Beta Customer to integrate with Viewpoint Software.
  • For financial information.
It has worked well thus far and will only be getting better.

Evaluating Procore and Competitors

Yes - ShareFile and Lotus Notes. We were looking for more of a single source program to be able to use for what we need. Having two seperate made it difficult and Procore is our attempt to be able to package everything together. It makes it more consistent across our branch offices.

The customer service I beleive was the most impactful. i was not part of the buying process for the program but I know our office went through multiple different options. I know that Procore was willing to work with us to help remedy the things that it currently does not do but we see a need for ourselves in the future.
I don't think we would. I believe we have gotten everything that was promised to us upon the sale of the program. The customer service has been on point and we are working with the crews to get the beta usage worked out and the integration to our other software.

Procore Implementation

I think the Subcontractors and Architect could use some more/additional training at the time of implementation. As the main user I feel like we have a pretty good grasp but this may be the only project a certain subcontractor is using procore or the first time they have ever seen it. Overall though the Sandbox training provided good enough information it was beneficial.
  • Vendor implemented
  • Implemented in-house
Change management was minimal - We did not specifically implement because of Change Management capabilities. Although this will be beneficial, we have not use Procore to associate costs. The drawing feature helps to be able to compare one drawing revision to the next but we did not do it in order to be able to quantify costs within the program.
  • Various skill level all working towards the same goal.
  • Attempting to implement into a project after the project was created and started in another program.
  • Getting sub contractors to buy into the process.

Procore Support

The support has been there when I personally have a need for them. I have not heard of any huge issues company wide regarding the service. They are always receptive to the questions being asked and come up with a logical response that is easy to follow. Anything that cannot be answered is followed up on.
ProsCons
Quick Resolution
Good followup
Knowledgeable team
Problems get solved
Kept well informed
Immediate help available

We had an issue with files being transferred to a Procore folder and us having an issue gaining access to them. We were freaking out because we thought the information was gone. Procore assisted in being able to find the transfer that took place and to help make the files available for our use.

Using Procore

It is fairly inutitive if you know construction. I jumped in without any major training other than the Sandbox trainign and it has come pretty naturally. I think it performs what we need it to without major issue and doesnt take a huge computer back ground. I think the mobil app could use some work as this is a tool used the most frequently by our field staff.
ProsCons

Relatively simple
Easy to use
Well integrated
Consistent

  • Drawing update.
  • Turning an agenda into meeting minutes and creating a follow up meeting.
  • Review of drawings from the APP. There is no good way to flip from one drawing to the next like you would if you had paper copy next to you.
  • Assigning roles within procore to ensure that someone doesn't inadvertently click the wrong button and make an item unavailable to the correct party.
  • Assigning dollar values to items.
Yes - I feel like it works fairly well. Alot of the items are similar to what is on the computer. Our biggest issue is with drawing review. There is no easy way to have multiple drawings open and flip back and forth between them. Sometimes different drawings are in different folders and you want to easily flip back and forth. This is difficult in procore sometimes.
