Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop Enterprise

Splashtop is used primarily to permit employees and contractors to have remote access to dedicated workstations operating as clients for QuickBooks Premier Accountant Edition on a server. It is used within the accounting department with additional access to management.
  • Rapid access to remote workstations.
  • Clear menu for desktop adjustments, key sequences, and disconnect when completed.
  • Would like to maximize/optimize window size by dragging corners rather than going into a movie-like maximization method that takes extra keystrokes or mouse to get out of.
  • Consistency between Mac and Windows versions regarding where Cntrl-Tab takes you -- probably best to keep that inside the workstation window. How about adding a Shift-Cntrl-Tab to toggle outside/inside the workstation to the desktop of the machine accessing the workstation.
  • For Mac, incorporate the machine access window into the menu bar. I kept having to toggle between it and the workstation window when I came back from the desktop to the workstation window.
  • Essential for providing secure access to a contractor who we need to have work remotely.
  • Has allowed us to bring on assistance incrementally rather than having someone with fixed part or full-time hours in the office.
I have no experience. Everything has worked well and I could figure out installation and settings as an end-user.
I have not evaluated Splashtop in terms of its security standards, nor have I tested them. Because access to machines can be left open in the application's window, it needs to be exited from or timed out if on a shared-login workstation (i.e. multiple users on the same desktop login.) Otherwise, the "ready to go" interface is a great benefit for the user. Also, once I had the client-side installed, I opted to add my own home-office PC to the streaming/hosting version and really benefited from the ability to check-in or train a colleague on our own local work in addition to our client's remote work.
Very easy as an end-user. And once I was set up, I could add access to any machine I would be using with my customer: for example both a Mac laptop and a PC tower.

Do you think Splashtop delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Splashtop's feature set?

Yes

Did Splashtop live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Splashtop go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Splashtop again?

Yes

Very easy for end-users. Clean & snappy appearance. Consistently good performance. For me, it is a great replacement for other remote desktop programs such as GoToMyPC and Windows Remote. I also prefer it to ScreenConnect, too. Having the disconnect button inside the remote workstation makes it very easy to exit the program and gives you confidence that you have, in fact, closed the session as opposed to just clicking the X in the corner of the window and wondering if there is more you need to do.
