Additionally, Quickbooks for Mac has a mobile app that offers access to accounting reports and customer information in addition to invoicing capabilities. Lastly, Quickbooks for Mac includes remote access features that allow users to access reports and invoices when out of the office.

Freshbooks has an easy to use interface, which makes it possible for non-technical staff to create invoices, accept payments, and view reports. Additionally, Freshbooks also includes high-quality customer support. Support is provided in all pricing tiers and includes phone support with minimal wait times.

Limitations

Though Quickbooks for Mac and Freshbooks both offer essential accounting features, they also both have a few limitations.

Quickbooks for Mac updates less often than its Windows counterpart, meaning that organizations using the Mac version may be missing cutting edge features. Additionally, Quickbooks for Mac lacks the extensive training resources that Freshbooks offers, which can make it difficult for users to take advantage of Quickbooks for Mac’s breadth of features. Some users have also experienced data loss using Quickbooks for Mac when transferring data from other tools or software.

Freshbooks includes a mobile app that includes basic features like invoicing and expense logging but lacks some of the advanced accounting features found in Quickbooks for Mac’s app. On the desktop app, Freshbooks also lags in some accounting features such as inventory and budget management.

Pricing

QuickBooks Desktop for Mac costs $299.95 for up to three users and includes all reporting features. Additionally, it offers slightly lower payment processing prices compared to Freshbooks. The difference in payment processing prices can add up to a lot for businesses that process many payments.

Freshbooks offers four payment tiers. The Lite option is priced at $7.50 per month and includes five billable clients with basic features. The Plus package costs $12.50 per month and includes 50 billable clients and automation features such as automated late fees. The Premium tier costs $25.00 per month and allows for 500 billable clients. Lastly, the Select tier is meant for larger enterprises and includes an account manager and customized training. The price for the Select tier depends on the organization’s size and needs.
