RUN by ADP is perfect, in my opinion, for any size of company. Whether you have 5 employees or 500 employees. I feel that RUN by ADP will meet your needs and help make processing payroll as smooth as possible. Using RUN by ADP is a huge time saver for me. I love how easy it is to add new employees. I work at a company that is experiencing big growth and I am grateful for how easy it is to add new employees. I wish RUN by ADP was more transparent about the cutoff times to process payroll timely. It would be very nice to know what is the latest I could process payroll to have it be processed on time

Kronos Workforce Ready

Before Kronos Workforce Ready, our HR Department was manually tracking each employee's medical and license expirations. With the notification and tracking features in Kronos, a simple report helps us get a quick eye on each of these areas, as well as gives us the ability to skip sending out notifications to employees manually.

Pros

  • Everything is clear and concise. It makes using the program very user-friendly.
  • For running payroll, each employee can be set up in a way to make running the next payroll smooth. Details can be set, including workers comp codes and pay rate, so that each employee is already customized. It helps running payroll be more efficient.
  • Help is always available. When state taxes or local taxes are changed, I can send them a copy of the notice and they will take care of it quickly.

  • The cloud based service has a good track record of reliability. We have seen few outages and when they occurred they were resolved quickly.
  • Managers appreciate the ability to monitor time punches remotely. They are able to connect using any PC or cell phone with a web browser.
  • The time clocks are responsive and run efficiently. In addition, they seem to be durable and don't have the mechanical issues that are present with time clocks that use paper cards.

Cons

  • A few months ago we encountered a glitch where an employee's rate of pay changed. Customer service suggested it was "user error" on my part, but when I reviewed the error, I was not able to actually change the rate of pay on the screen in question. At any rate, ADP took the time to walk me through the process and helped me solve the problem quickly.
  • ADP often contacts me to try and sell additional services. I find this to be a tad annoying.

  • The pricing for Kronos Workforce Ready equipment was somewhat higher than competing products that we evaluated. We felt that the more robust feature set that Kronos had justified the additional cost. Furthermore, the Kronos time clocks appeared to be more durable.
  • The time clocks did not ship with the biometric fingerprint scanners installed. We had to install those ourselves. This was easy for our organization to overcome but entities with less technical skills may find that to be inappropriate.
  • Kronos included a warranty period for the time clock which began when they shipped the clocks. I feel that they should not begin the warranty period until the system has been implemented. It didn't matter to us since our clocks have not had problems.

We have begun looking for other vendors to supply this products need as Kronos WFR cannot deliver the suite of applications which it should with this product.*6/5/17 Edit - We started the new year with a new application. WFR proved to be unable to correct the errors within the application. We are much happier with the new application as we can use it effectively.

While some tasks such as updating an employee's basic info, password, and approver preferences are very easy to do and straightforward (all combined on a single employee maintenance page and updateable through a single 'save'), other items prove to be more cumbersome such as navigating through multiple layers of employees when you are up higher in management with more system rights

We were always told that Kronos was the best, but there are reports that we got out of ADP and other payroll providers that we cannot get out of Kronos. One example is a report of Productive/Non-productive hours by department. We also need the dollar amount associated with the hours. This is information that is required on our cost report and we were told that that report is unavailable. It is very frustrating when I can't get what I need.

The support provided by Kronos Workforce Ready is great. Anytime that I have had a question about the system or if there was a technical glitch going on, the support team was always right there to answer my questions in a timely manner. There are a lot of pieces that go into making up Kronos Workforce Ready and the technological team did a great job in doing this.

Initially, we decided with WFR over Paycor as we had Kronos' time and attendance module in WFC. Kronos does a great job of managing time and attendance but an absolute horrible job of anything else. Were we to know this before we made the selection we would have chosen Paycor

  • Accounting is saving at least 2 hours each week processing payroll.
  • The HR information online has saved at least 5 hours a month.
  • Employee satisfaction with ADP is very positive when the mobile app is working properly.

  • We have had a negative impact to managing data between WFR and our payroll system. This is due to an interface that the implementation team and KGS cannot get to operate correctly.
  • We have had a negative impact to managing employment data between WFR and our time and attendance system, which is Kronos WFC. This is due to an interface the implementation team cannot setup, which is ironic as the two systems are both operated by Kronos.
  • We have had a zero impact, labor hour wise, on onboarding as the WFR module doesn't operate. However, this is a 100% negative ROI as we are paying for a module that we cannot use even though KGS and the implementation team states the issue is entirely on Kronos' development team.
