Paylocity provides 24/7 access to your online payroll and human resource data management. Paylocity offers highly customizable payroll functionality, as well as HR, benefits administration, and time and talent management programs.
These two systems are similar in that they track applicants, can store offers, automate email responses and allow easy job posting. I think that PeopleSoft is a little more advanced and has more overall options/safeguards, where as ApplicantPro is still in a learning phase both …
We liked that Paylocity had all modules within one system instead of having to use multiple systems for recruiting, onboarding, personnel files, and payroll. We have used Paycom for several years, and Paylocity is a much more organized and "clean" platform with more advanced …
ApplicantPro is well suited in a environment where an employer isn't hiring a ton of people - this is because ApplicantPro is built with some automation, but you do have to pay attention to each individual candidate. ApplicantPro would be less well suited for a company looking to hire a lot of people or a company where they want to post a ton of different jobs
I think Paylocity is very useful in many areas. Onboarding makes it very easy to create event packets with the necessary documents a new hire needs and uploads all of them to their file once they are completed. The Recruiting platform is streamlined and a great tool to view all the candidates and move them along the line depending on their fit with open positions. I think Paylocity can be used for almost all facets of HR and I think the only place is may not be my first go to is when wanting to create recognition for team members. We use a separate platform that has many feature Paylocity simply does not have available. I rarely find a situation, though, where Paylocity does not have a solution to HRIS need.
Paid Time Off requests. Everything is available in the app so employees can see their balances, request time, and get a notification about their manager's decision all in real time.
Paycheck visibility-- Employees can see their detailed paychecks from the app and they're notified when they're accessible. Employees love this transparency.
Benefits administration-- Employees can enroll and view their benefit elections right on the app.
I wish there was a way to customize the categories in the skills section to better fit our industry. We make the categories we currently have work, but it would be amazing to actually customize them. For example, it would be nice to have a "Medical" option to hold all our employee's immunization records.
The workflows section has been a lifesaver, but there are still some areas that have glitches that need to be improved on. For example, if you launch a workflow that isn't completed within the timeframe set, it goes overdue, and if it's still not completed, it'll actually go into the completed section, and the only way to find it is to look at the actual workflow, if you have the ability to rescind the workflow, then you automatically know that the workflow is incomplete.
Community - It would be nice if comments were added to a post; everyone within the group who received the original announcement would also receive notifications that a comment was made. It would make it easier to communicate back and forth as well as keep the rest of the group up to date on any questions that were answered that someone else may have been thinking of but didn't ask.
I give a rating of 10 because the transition was flawless, at each step of the way we had a dedicated Paylocity rep helping us during the transition. This gave us peace of mind as we switched over from another payroll provider so we weren't familiar with Paylocity. The transition was smooth
I've been able to navigate everything on my own and I've been able to figure out almost all of it by myself. I like hands on experience so I only rely on service if I've exhausted all resources to figure something out.
The nicest thing I can say about Paylocity's support is I run into the same support issues with every payroll company. Paylocity's support is no better or worse. With high turnover rates and employees being stretched across multiple company's it is hard to get good responses. I can usually get responses back to simple questions quickly but when you get to intermediate to difficult questions the support is lacking.
The training was live online, but was with a group of other companies. We did not receive any personalized training with our team. Whenever we would ask for training, we would be sent a peak article link or a video. It felt like the reps we dealt with didn't know the answer to the questions.
I would make sure you have a dedicated team at Paylocity to complete the implementation. We had staff from Paylocity quit and things were not completed properly. They dropped the ball so to speak on that portion of it. we have encountered multiple issues since then and are still not using the Time off tracking to its full capabilities.
I think payroll processing in Paylocity is much simpler than with either ADP or Paychex. Having the pre-process view and the ability to make corrections easily makes processing payroll much more straightforward than with either of the other products I have worked with. The time and labor module also flows better to HR&PR w/ paylocity. I have not used benefits integration or Cobra management w/ either of the other products, but I do appreciate it w/ Paylocity and the EDI file flows so that we can add/delete people from benefits with ease.
