AvidXchange is well suited for companies with multiple locations where approvals may be hard to get directly. A user can log on when they have time basically from anywhere to review, code and approve invoices. This would allow for processing of invoices centrally more efficiently then with appear invoices being moved from one place to another to be processed

Tipalti

Tipalti is well suited for companies that have to pay out hundreds of partners in multiple currencies in different formats (e.g. Paypal, ACH, wires, eChecks.) They provide a very intuitive portal that has a simple yet effective UI to process payments. If your company has minimal payment needs, Tipalti could be helpful but I think it's best suited for companies that have many payment streams. That would allow your company to fully tap the potential of this tool

Pros

AvidXchange

  • Our contractors and vendors can submit invoices electronically through AvidBill, removing the tedious task of sorting and coding mail. This feature saves on time and administrative duties.
  • Communication is key, and being able to log a comment or question in AvidInvoice allows for clarification and expedited approval process.
  • Having multiple properties, having the Property Code and % Allocation features allow us to ensure the correct entity is charged it's portion of expenses. For example, we may have a service that is coded to all 32 properties. With AvidInvoice we are able to allocate each entity's pro rata share of the invoice.

Tipalti

  • The most important thing to look for when selecting an enterprise partner is customer service. The support team at Tipalti is extremely prompt and helpful when responding to questions, no matter how dumb they might be. Their executive team also monitors support inquiries for broader account questions so the are able to handle them promptly with the right perspective. Being able to get a quick response for any question is exceptionally valuable.
  • Tipalti's core feature is enabling payments in a very streamlined manner. They were the first provider that we found that was able to process payments in any currency across any payment method, allowing us to provide the maximum convenience to the vendors that we work with. Because of this, Touch of Modern is known as one of the easiest retail partners to work with.
  • A feature we didn't even realize would be so valuable is the tax compliance piece. When we started the company, we had no idea that we needed to collect tax information for every vendor we sent a payment to. Tipalti's platform requires this and ensures no payments are sent without the proper compliance.

  • AvidPay needs some improvement to minimize the amount of time it takes to issue payment for invoices
  • The search features within AvidXchange on the advanced search screen sometimes do not function correctly (sorting by ascending / descending order doesn't work all of the time).
  • The log enhancement follow-up procedure could use some work.

Tipalti

  • Tipalti's payer dashboard, where we submit payments and check payee details, is sometimes slow. However, we haven't experienced any downtime or had any issues with the Tipalti's iframe where the publishers enter their info.

At the time we moved to AvidXchange; CSI did not have the full functionality of processing invoice for payment. We only utilized them for specific vendor who took payments via virtual credit card. All invoices were processed in house by our AP Department.

Tipalti

I love how Tipalti has the early-payment offer option which allows payees to be able to accept or request their payment earlier than the due date. The early-payment offer option is also a good ROI for companies as a percentage of the fees deducted for the payee goes to the company

  • AvidXchange allows our office to be more productive on invoice approvals.
  • Overall, AvidXchange is saving us money. We do not have to courier invoices back and forth once signatures have been provided.
  • You can approve invoices from anywhere as long as you have internet access.
