Evernote is a suite of software and services designed for notetaking and archiving. A "note" can be a piece of formatted text, a full webpage or webpage excerpt, a photograph, a voice memo, or a handwritten "ink" note. Notes can also have file attachments. Notes can be sorted into folders, then tagged, annotated, edited, given comments, searched and exported as part of a notebook. Evernote supports a number of operating system platforms (including OS X, iOS, Chrome OS, Android, Microsoft…
I still use Evernote for my personal notes, but ClickUp is the only productivity tool in our shared tech stack. ClickUp is not a replacement, however, for Miro or Google Docs (or Notion). It seems like these features were added to ClickUp with little to no thought other than …
Notes - easy to use... everything you need to do is type into the chat box. everything is auto saved.Checklists - usually had to use third party software to run that, like Google Forms or Forms from office 365Excel - the usage of this tool has been drastically reduced, kept for …
ClickUp ultimately has more customizablility and bells and whistles like time tracking, adding tasks to mulitple lists, custom fields, calculated fields, reporting, mulitple task views, private tasks/lists/folders/etc., request forms, automation, shortcuts and slash commands, …
These apps are good, but ClickUp is GREAT. ClickUp even allows you to move all your existing work from other apps into their platform. I have used those other apps, but ClickUps power-packed features and ease of use in building in growing in its use is second to none in my …
After testing lots of project/task management and productivity apps, I think ClickUp provides the best combination of functions found in other apps on the market, and has lots of useful integrations with other services.
Trello is well suited for personal lists and to-dos, but for teams, it's too inflexible. The fact that you can only view boards, and one board at a time, is the most frustrating part. Whereas with ClickUp, you can view all tasks in one view, across all business units if you …
As a CRM tool, ClickUp fit like a charm, due to it's easy to customize nature, made possible to have the CRM setup done in a week at nearly zero cost, required some programing knowledge from my end, but I made it possible. As a inventory management, we are now capable of controling our inventory deep down to every detail we feel necessary. As a task management tool, of course, it's the basic nature of ClickUp, but now we no longer need to poke each other shoulder and ask about the ongoing status of any given task, we open the dashboard and everything is there. We now use this time to interact more and do other stuff.
Evernote is an excellent tool for keeping track of client relationships and taking notes. The indexing is excellent, with text in images and text. However, a Wiki might be better for large-scale collaboration. It is a perfect use case for it, and it is hard to beat. To-do lists that need to be tracked or have due dates assigned do not work well in Evernote. It's almost like a library that anyone can add to, edit, tag, and reference. Evernote has a limited checklist function in terms of tasks meant to be kept in one place rather than reviewed and organized over time.
We're very pleased with how the system works in general. For over a year we've barely ever had any problems with ClickUp and there might have only been one or two times when it wasn't operational for us due to a global emergency. Moreover, when we had a problem once with renewing our licenses we've been contacted directly by our account manager and taken care of in a very professional way (with a due refund as well). The exceptional customer service makes us firmly believe that ClickUp is just the right tool for us.
I can't really imagine how much they'd have to charge me to make me quit Evernote. I can't really think of any technology that has changed my life as much without going back to email in the 90s, or the introduction of the iPhone. I know I sound ridiculous, but it would be really tough for me to live without it. If I were forced to choose between my smart phone (and keep in mind that I get lost in my driveway) and my Evernote, I'd probably choose my Evernote.
Far easier to use than any other PM tool. ClickUp is incredibly intuitive and had us saving time and energy within the first week of implementation. In my opinion, PM software should make it easier to focus on the deliverables - it shouldn't take all your time and energy to learn how to use the tool in the first place. ClickUp is a user-friendly tool that actually helps us focus on what's important.
Basic visual organization - ability to create a notebook and store user notes inside of it.
Basic easy navigation - You can quickly move in and out of files and notes.
User intuitive addition - whatever you need to add to your document, it's relatively easy to understand and use.
We find overall that we still want some functionality in creating better task lists, boards, and other things that we find in Notion - which is the tool that we use as a team notebook/storage space.
For over a year ClickUp was unavailable to us just twice for a couple of hours. I would say for a system this big and working globally that was a minor issue. They managed to fix all the issues within a couple hours and then it was back up and running perfectly fine.
Generally issues are by connectivity and not Evernote availability but I have had issues in the past with cross-client consistency of data which Evernote Support has ID'd as bugs that are still unresolved as far as I know
I understand that it's a beast and does a lot of things, which is probably why it's laggy. But I do find it takes longer than I'd like to load, and if I am sending a complex document to a client or team member they aren't quite sure if they're getting the right thing at first. This is actually a pretty significant problem - my biggest beef with ClickUp.
I started using ClickUp when it was what most would consider a baby company. There were the occasional bugs that made working in ClickUp a little bit of a headache, but the support feature allowed me to chat with a real persona and communicate my issues. I would always get prompt support and someone willing to really help me, not just point me to FAQ pages. Not feeling like a number really makes a difference.
I bet you won’t even need to call their support. Their product has never failed me. Simply put. But if you were to email them to gather some details or help, I bet they won’t disappoint you. Don’t worry about the support, it’s the last thing you should worry about this product.
There are multiple guides on literally all of the functions you can find within the system, therefore it's easy to learn anything you'd really like to use, starting from project and people management, down to Gantts, mind maps, time tracking, inviting Clients as guests to work with you on the projects and so much more.
Using ClickUp is fairly easy. There are multiple guides on how to use all of the functions in the system. An organization wanting to start working with ClickUp should simply try it out and see how it would like to adapt its workflow to the possibilities the system gives the users.
Make sure you think about your tags. If you end up with multiple similar tags then things aren't grouped together as you might prefer. For instance if you have a tag called Disney and Walt Disney, this will split up your articles. Evernote makes it simple to correct, but I suggest you make sure your users look closely at the existing tags before creating new ones.
We chose ClickUp over Asana primarily for the docs. With Asana, it is really limiting to not be able to jump into docs natively within the platform. We value documentation and therefore really appreciate being able to easily add docs to everything we do. Whether a task or a list, this is a game changer ClickUp introduced early. In addition, Asana is nowhere as fast at providing a wide range of features. ClickUp open sourced their product backlog allowing the community to vote which is a huge plus
The most similar program I have used is OneNote by Microsoft, and other note taking programs exist like Notepad and Microsoft Word but those programs do not offer syncing like Evernote does. There are newer programs in the space like Dropbox Paper and Google Docs which would be on a list of ones to consider.
Scaling with ClickUp is superb. If you create a workflow best suited for your organization then it's all about creating new accounts and teaching the new employees the workflow you're using. It's that simple. There is no black magic when it comes to Clickup.
ClickUp has had a positive impact since it has allowed the Global Operations Department to have a consistent collaboration by having this app as a repository of Projects and Programs, which has enabled a faster synchronization and stronger collaboration to better allocate resources.
A positive impact is a faster and clearer prioritization process for the executives since this app allows you to have a full picture of what's going on across the board.
Evernote has allowed our school's over 3000 students and staff members to work more efficiently instead of spending time on making physical notes, clicking pictures, and uploading them to the cloud in order to share them
The investment in Evernote Premium has also allowed for heavier files to be attached in each note such as student work that allows teachers to be certain that students have followed deadlines and finished assigned tasks
Evernote has allowed our school to smoothly transition in and out of online learning as the local COVID-19 protocols change and student work requires one platform to be based on throughout
