  • Hotjar quickly improved our CTR by 25% MoM.
  • Hotjar is relatively inexpensive for most of it's packages, so any changes we made to the site would correlate to new deals, thus paying for the monthly subscription in one deal.
  • Hotjar has saved our team immense time by not having to do in-person, manual user testing.

  • The monthly price is very reasonable and without HotJar we would have to get at least three different software to obtain the same data.
  • Visitors can give you valuable insights so you can save a lot of time and money in improving your site with things your customers actually want.
  • You can get valuable insights when you combine data from HotJar with Google Analytics. The monthly price for HotJar is very low and Google Analytics is free (for most companies) so the ROI is fantastic.

  • We've been able to quantify the success of a copy update on our website (which was very hard to do otherwise).
  • We've been able to identify blind spots in UX when it came to our key pages, which helped improve conversions.
  • We've also been able to collect feedback on some of our product features that helped inform our road map.

  • Great ROI on identifying elements that weren't clickable but that visitors assumed would be. We added more links based upon click map data, leading to more traffic in relevant sales funnels.
  • Has helped streamline cart functionality by viewing actual recordings and identifying sticking points.
  • No negative impacts.

  • We can fix broken URLs that customers come in and visit our site. As a cannabis-related company, there isn't much better of a service to have as SEO is everything for us as we can't market like traditional businesses can on the internet. This is a positive for us without a doubt.
  • Seeing what our traffic is doing allows us to implement and fix issues sooner than later.
  • HotJar will show up for savvy internet surfers that track 3rd party apps on websites, so be sure to list it in your Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions etc.

  • We're on the free plan, so it's been all positive.
  • I've used the paid plan in the past, and that has been worth the investment, as well.
  • People all across marketing were very interested when I gave them a quick demo of what we can now see on our website.

  • HotJar provides actionable insight. It makes it extremely simple to identify potential problem areas in the user experience that you, being familiar with the site, might miss. This provides an increase in value (and potential sales).
  • The survey feature allows you to ask your visitors and users some direct questions to figure out some answers to your burning questions. These can be related to the business but also simply the design/UX of the specific page.
  • Very helpful in optimizing websites and is worth purchasing and paying for a subscription to get the data.

  • Learning to make everything clickable to get more website engagement (people click on words thinking they are links, so they should be linked).
  • Learning to move CTA above the fold because we learn people don't scroll down too far.

HotJar for UX Design

  • Our UX team can now use hard data to back up and validate design decisions that we make. Our role as usability experts is becoming more respected and integral to business objectives because we now have data that can back up our field of study and prove that our roles are demonstrably useful and necessary.
  • HotJar allows our small team of 3 UX designers to get research data as if we were a much larger team. Instead of painstakingly using our time to do guerrilla research, endless user observations, and other types of manual testing, we can now get a significant portion of our data from HotJar.
  • Using HotJar is actually giving our team a sense of excitement and enjoyment in our day-to-day usability work. Instead of seeing UX as a chore, HotJar is making data gathering and analyzing more fun, because we can see tangible results from a much larger pool of user/user-data than we could in the past.

  • Hotjar has allowed for us to increase the session duration of our visitors and direct visitors through our website more efficiently based on the recordings and heatmaps we viewed in Hotjar
  • We have had tendencies in the past to make decisions based on Hotjar data that may not have been accurate due to multiple variables being at play or small sample size. If Hotjar had more data-driven insights on a dashboard it may have helped us look more closely at what the heatmaps and visitor recordings were telling us before making a decision
