Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Sign

We use Adobe Sign to send contracts to customers. Our company has proprietary software to manage accounts, pricing, etc., and we have integrated Adobe Sign through its API so that we can automate the entire contract process. This allows us to populate contract fields and send the contract with the click of a button.
  • System reliability - Although there have been times when their system has gone down for a few hours, in general their 'uptime' is consistently reliable.
  • API Integration - The API is relatively easy to tie into our software, and the accompanying documentation is easy to follow.
  • Standard e-Signature Services - Covers all the basic needs for an e-signature service and does exactly what we need it to do.
  • Price - We just received an email this week saying that Adobe would be increasing its pricing 400% in a few months. While it was not the cheapest company to start with, this will make them BY FAR the most expensive for our usage bracket.
  • Customer Appreciation - We have been using Adobe Sign for 10 years, and we use Adobe to send out over 35,000 contracts per year. Yet even though we use Adobe more and more each year (and therefore pay more), over the years they have been less and less inclined to work with us as they increase their prices. They actually gave us more consideration when we were a fledgling company first looking to use their product.
  • Point of Contact - Every time we are in contact with Adobe, we talk to a different account manager. This makes it extremely difficult to know who to contact when we have issues.
  • Automating our contract process allows our sales team to spend their time with customers as opposed to filling out and emailing contracts.
  • From the customer's perspective, the signature process is easy since it walks them through the required fields one by one.
It is not common for the system to go down, but when it does, there is very little in the way of updates. We receive emails saying they know about it and are working on it, but we can never get even a ballpark estimate (minutes? hours?) on how long it will take. I get that they don't want to promise something they can't accomplish, but when our business operations are put on hold for an indeterminate amount of time, it would be nice to have more contact.
The API was easy to integrate into our system, and the accompanying documentation was easy to follow. The user interface is intuitive when we log into the dashboard and on the rare occasion that we have to send out a contract from there instead of from our automated system. The contract notifications (contract sent / viewed / signed) are helpful.
We send out contracts for customers who are signing up for electric service, and because our pricing is based on the energy market, daily market changes cause our rates to fluctuate. Because of this, we have to cancel all contracts if they are not signed by 5pm. Tying an e-signature service into our account software makes it possible to automate every step of our process and send out the contracts with one click.

  • DocuSign, HelloSign, Zoho Sign, PandaDoc, JotForm and Dotloop
Some of the providers did not offer services that matched our needs. However, most of the major companies (Adobe SIgn, DocuSign, HelloSign, Zoho Sign) all do pretty much the same thing. Initially, we chose Adobe based on brand recognition and the fact that their pricing was among the lowest (though not the very lowest). With recent price increases, however, they are now BY FAR the most expensive of any company we have looked at. Based on this we will NOT be using Adobe Sign any more once our current contract expires.
Adobe Sign does what we need it to do--along the lines of just about any of the major e-Signature service providers. It covers all the basic e-Signature needs, making it easy to send and track contracts. Their audit trail even helped us uncover an instance of fraud a few years ago.
