Overall Satisfaction with Quickbase

We use Quickbase for internal projects tracking, as well as support custom applications for clients with a variety of uses. Our main internal project management application is accessed by all employees in our division. It is a tracked for ongoing projects, requests, billing and for forecasting for staffing as well as financial.
  • User support
  • Continuous development
  • Allows for rapid development
  • Good help documentation
  • retrieving data from connected tables can be difficult
  • formula summary fields that - fields referencing a non-related table are derived fields that take so much processing 'space' they ground my critical reports to a halt
  • table-to-table updates with pipelines are nowhere near as accessible for the citizen developer as were automations
  • Saves time
  • Central source of truth
  • positive impact on ROI
As a realm admin, I also am training new employees on the main applications they need to use. Our division is made up of multiple teams, and team members are working in office as well as off-site. New dashboards allow tailoring the information for various teams and roles, this has made it easier for teams to interact and focus on their projects.
Our applications work the same for all of our users, regardless of their locations. Our main application is undergoing updates and enhancements in the upcoming fiscal year. It is always reliable and our users are confident that their information is secure and up to date, and users can always get wht they need
This is a process currently under development - we are adding more requirements in our project tracking system that would include task details, timelines, predecessors and gantt charts. Though easy to use, leveraging all the possible features of Quickbase can be a challenge for smaller teams of builders who must support users of all technical abilities
If you don't know any programming languages, it's no problem to get started with Quick Base. On-line guides and prompts, plenty of examples and help are always available. There are template sample databases available for modification, and these provide a great opportunity to understand the inner workings of QuickBase. We are able use our databases as a team, and don't worry about overwriting another person's work

Do you think Quickbase delivers good value for the price?

Are you happy with Quickbase's feature set?

Yes

Did Quickbase live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Quickbase go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Quickbase again?

Yes

  • Improving collaboration across one or more teams
  • Solving a specific business challenge
  • Building and deploying an application (or multiple applications) that meets our exact needs
Yes, though I was not on the original building team. Our core system replaced the traditional patchwork of spreadsheets to truly create the 'central source of truth'. We are excited to have the tools now to integrate this system with others in more places, and to be able to bring more users in.
We think it has allowed us to make custom applications, to modify and continue to use them. As I stated in my previous answer, we are working with other parts of our company to integrate our core Quickbase data with other systems across the company. Even without knowing how those systems work, we can still share information from Quickbase
Code pages, javascript, html - not everyone is fluent, regardless of their previous database experience - and these are becoming more frequently used as Quickbase makes more enhancements to the platform. The training opportunities offered are excellent and there are always new things to be explored. We are making efforts to document our system and enable more users to become certified builders
I don't think this is ever easy without a clear idea of what needs an update: the users making requests typically don't understand anything about relational databases. It is not easy to update an application while it is in use. I am exciting by the announcement of updates coming to the Sandbox feature.
Easy to use for end users doing routine data entry, adequate reporting in a tracking type of application. Exports could be more flexible. When an application needs particular enhancements, QSPs are available - though that is not the most cost-effective solution for everyone. Forms design is simple, and with upcoming redesign will be even more so.

Using Quickbase

80 - Administrative, Customer support, finance, research. We are a non profit organization, a smaller division of a medium sized foundation. Our core system was built to maintain project information, track requests, and facilitate communication between these groups. We have been using and enhancing our main system for more than 10 years
1 - One. That's it. Previously there were 2. We have the original builder of the main system, a locally based QSP on-call for multiple projects. The first in-house builder had advanced web application building skills and qualifications, the other was an assistant who now fills multiple roles across a small realm

Using Quickbase

Usability depends on the user and their abilities. For builders, some parts are simple, but are growing more complex as more features are added or enhanced.
