We use it from idea through approval through execution and completion of all generation projects. This helps us keep track of ideas and assign resources to project tasks. This also helps us in our budgeting and resource planning.,Data consolidation - We no longer have to gather emails, scraps of paper, and notes to enter project ideas. No more lost ideas and notes as it is all in one place. The simplicity of QB makes it so that even the most novice computer user can quickly figure out how to enter useful data. Even if they don't understand databases, they can fill out forms to provide information to others. The reporting feature makes it easy to customize the information for the audience. For example, our VP doesn't need the same granular detail that a field supervisor needs. With the personalized reporting, we can provide the customer with the appropriate amount of data.,We have had to go to an outside service provider for a useful Gantt chart function. This has been cumbersome and costly. This is an area for improvement. It would be nice to have an onboarding experience for someone who inherits apps when an administrator leaves. It would be great to have a workbook or training on the top things to do to get to know your app. A cheat sheet of some kind of formulas would be good. The formula helper is better, but I would like to see something like what is available in Excel.,9,Yes. Before QB, we were entering all the information on a clunky MS Access database. Only a few people were able to access it and when changes needed to be made, we had to write down notes and bring them back to our offices to make the changes. Now, we can make the changes live.,,I took an HTML class in college when Al Gore was just inventing the internet. Since then, I have no coding experience. However, after a short lesson or two, I was able to build and customize my own app and make it useful for my customers.,Improving our ability to drive insights from our data Improving collaboration across one or more teams Solving a specific business challenge Building and deploying an application (or multiple applications) that meets our exact needs,I am new to my role, so have no experience with this.,325,5,Project Management Project Management Project Management,Human Resources,10,Microsoft ProjectReal Experienced Insights of Quickbase !!We use Quick Base to offer effective solutions to our client for their processes implementation and automation to add efficiencies to the business to improve productivity. Also, we use it for our in-house implementation to give solutions/tools to operations and other groups.,Analytics and Dashboard- it’s one of the must have areas which takes good enough time and effort but with Quick Base, it’s absolutely amazing to have it quickly by some configurations. Workflow- setting up role-based workflow is a major need for most of processes automation and QB is simply awesome to make it happen. Notifications, reminders, and subscriptions- it’s a great feature which QB offers with great simplicity. For an application with low/medium user base (count of users) QB is cost-effective solution reducing time to market by its RAD capabilities.,Quick Base licensing model - Per user license cost of QB is fine but for clients having bug user base overall licensing cost is too high. Quick Base should reduce the licensing cost for such needs. Quick Base should also think about offering a flexible licensing model where per user license cost of low usage or occasional users should be extremely low. As all application users are always user application that frequently and need to access occasionally e.g. once a month etc. I know based on total users on instance QB offering little better per user license cost but that discount is quite minor. This way we can bring the attention of customers need an application for the big user base. EVOI with SSO exception - Quick Base provides an option to add everyone on internet access for any application which makes it open for everyone having URL of application to access the application on internet without chewing licences for each user. It's good but many time we have a need of an exception on EVOI to allow everyone but authorized users of an organization getting authenticated by SSO. This feature can help QB to bring the attention of multiple clients who need to use it for their employee as EVOI. Notifications/reminders on an Adhoc schedule - QB offer great features of notification/reminders but as of now it's either trigger based on some event or with the schedule its dependent on the value of the application data field parameter value. But any time we have a need to send email on the frequency of daily (with/without weekend), weekly, monthly or on a particular date/time etc. That is something missing from QB. Themes & Animation for improved UI - Although QB offers a standardized UI and it's quite good. But if we need to change the entire look and feel with quick options like themes etc. it's not possible. Also providing animated controls like a carousel, shutter up/down out of the box within an application will improve the user experience. I know it can be done on an HTML code page but I think making it available like standard out of box component will add to RAD capabilities improving the user experience.,8,I agree Quick Base is a perfect solution for building, deploying, and maintaining custom business applications faster and easier. My organization realized huge benefits in terms of FTEs reduction, cost/time saving, improving productivity and adding efficiencies. Also, we have offered Quick Base to customers where the time ask was to achieve above-mentioned criteria and our proposal and actual implementation did complete justice to gain customer satisfaction.,MS SharePoint, KiSSFLOW and JIRA Service Desk,It's fairly easy for non-technical citizen developers to build an application. We have seen team members without any development experience, doing wonders with Quick Base. It needs an understanding of QB configurations for which training/videos are available with Quick Base university. Using its API in code pages need little experience of handling it and can make better by introducing intellisense for users assistance.,Building and deploying business applications faster Improving our ability to drive insights from our data Improving collaboration across one or more teams Solving a specific business challenge Building and deploying an application (or multiple applications) that meets our exact needs,Yes, it's absolutely easy. Many times I've worked on enhancing the existing Quick Base application to another level and doing that was really interesting as Quick Base offers most of it out of the box to manage this task.,,200,Talent Acquisition, Development, Learning/Scheduling Processes Implementation and automation Support and Case Management,We build Quickbase Integration with outside solution without any 3rd party vendor. e.g. Getting feed from outside system to an sFTP and syncing it with Quickbase on schedule basis thru APIs and .Net. And taking the updates back from QB to outside system with the same way. Added a chatbot on Quickbase responding to users query. Also made the bot available outside responding to users who don't have QB access. Auto creating a case in QB based on email received in Outlook without any configuration or vendor. It's done through an integration build using .Net and APIs,Adding Artificial Intelligence with QuickBase to bring valuable insights forecasting/predictions Adding Chatbot capability within QuickBase as out of the box feature Making QB solutions available to huge count of users or at enterprise level, if licensing cost reduces.,10,Improved Customer Satisfaction by reducing time to market that too with a product with a great user experience. Huge Cost Saving by FTEs reduction and Improved productivity Added efficiencies The client asking for QuickBase but having a huge user base, due to licensing cost we have to offer another alternative solution.,MS SharePoint, Microsoft Azure,Yes,Price Product Features Product Usability Vendor Reputation Positive Sales Experience with the Vendor,I found GDPR is an important criterion in terms of security and by this time we have all required details from QB in terms of data privacy. And during evaluation, I would like to put this as an important parameter with thorough analysis.,Yes,8,Yes,We were having an ESO upgrade and we came to know about the impact of it on Quickbase quite late and raised a request to QB for support. Just next day to that request and that was weekend, we have some of QB support executive in a meeting with the team doing ESO upgrade. We verified QB and found an issue which was resolved in few hours with the help of support agent and helped to handle this issue in a short turn around requiring on-demand assistance during the weekend on a short notice.,Reporting and Analytics Home Pages/Dashboard Setup Roles/Permission based workflow setup Notifications, Reminders, and Subscription,Integrations without using paid 3rd party vendors e.g. Building integrations with.Net to communicate between QB and outside the system The relationship, Proxy Field. Basically, the entire business process is conducted within Quick Base. That has been the aim over the past 3 years. It has taken our business completely off spreadsheets in the sense of manual creation. We also have completely automated our invoicing process within the last 6 months.,Cloud based access gives the ability for all team members to view real time from anywhere. Ease of use and replicate-able so that training is easy with full accountability. Relationship based flow so entry is kept to a minimum. No more double or triple entry. Import feature that allows you to enter hundreds of line items at once rather than one at a time. which is based on internet speeds.,Only the platform for typical business usage. Many needed items are not native, meaning you have to use outside resources in order to complete certain automation or added features. Ability to make copy of forms from 1 app to the next. I may create a app that functions differently from the other but can use a particular form that works well in another.,10,I am the app builder for our company. App building has become a simple task after years of being in the system and understanding how things trigger. Over the last 6 months, I had created an application that ran an entire roll-off business for hurricane relief efforts. It handled order entry to invoicing and took about a day to create, with updates and modifications made over a few weeks to meet production standards. Very easy to make changes and at the drop of a dime.,,Someone that has never been acquainted with a relationship driven software would have great difficulty grasping the concept. It was very stressful learning the system when first introduced. There wasn't a lot of training available 4 years ago. Now there is an ample amount. I think today it would be much easier to create an application fresh into the game and would actually be a great training method for new employees to get acquainted with the system.,Building and deploying business applications faster Improving our ability to drive insights from our data Improving collaboration across one or more teams Solving a specific business challenge Building and deploying an application (or multiple applications) that meets our exact needs,We have recently changed our name due to an acquisition. Quick Base provides the ease of changing the names with a single entry. You choose the name throughout the app to change and enter the new name. Whether it's 5 or 500 it changes the particular name throughout. This saves countless minutes or hours.,3,1,Data management invoice automation customer ticket tracking connecting all apps for single point of entry, connecting 5 apps to a single engine that runs them all connecting to QuickBooks thru workato to automate the entire invoice process built in calculators,Automate our audting logistic support for construction clients lead generation marketing,10,Had a return in 2017 of over $100k cut out multiple users in our invoicing process, 1 executive included,No,Product Features Product Usability Prior Experience with the Product Existing Relationship with the Vendor,I wouldst change anything. We also use QB with RPA to help us systematically show the status of each sales rep, when they're available or unavailable, this helps us best serve our customers in a timely manner.,Low Code developments API Calls Webhooks,ODBC Connection Query against data connections (i.e. once a table is built and connections are joined to other tables, the ability to query against those results manually, like SQL),10,We have achieved this on a micro level being able to help small pocketed groups by providing a portal to have access to specific needs and information. Because we are local and not IT driven we've been able to conceptualize new needs, design an App, maintain the App, and provide service to an App much faster than if QB was maintained by IT. We are agile where IT has limited resources to be as agile.,,For a simple design, QB is amazing, it can literally be as easy as drag and drop. When keeping Apps on a basic level a person with no or little technical experience can develop a working functional App, Quickly, that suits their needs.,Building and deploying business applications faster Improving collaboration across one or more teams Solving a specific business challenge Building and deploying an application (or multiple applications) that meets our exact needs,We constantly always update "Tweak" our apps. In our environment, the landscape changes all the time, with new alignments, customer server agreements, trends, products, educational developments and training. in our Climate we are always shifting, and QB allows us the agility and functionality to shift rapidly with in culture and environment. It is currently used for manufacturing, purchasing, fulfillment, pre-sales and post-sales activities, customer support, asset tracking, document control, HR, etc. QuickBase allows for the entire organization to be able see the same data seamlessly whether they are home based or in the field.,Most setup can be done with no code or low code solutions. Can setu p a new application within a few hours. Offers a solution for about all use cases. I have yet to have a problem I could not solve using QuickBase.,Current mobile applications are lacking, but I know are currently being worked on. Occasionally when I need real coding to get things done I can't, but there are many support companies that can help.,10,Everyone of my company's applications have been custom built, some in just an hour. We have one application that was requested, designed, built, and deployed in 2 hours. Most applications once deployed take very little maintenance other than managing users as they start, leave, or gain responsibility.,,The level of difficultly is very low honestly. I am not a coder or in IT, I took one college couse in C++ which has not helped me at all, but am the main admin for QuickBase and am fully able to do most setup of applications. Most applications I have built in 2 hours or less and do no maintenance other than user support for access levels. On the off chance I need something more advanced QuickBase hasa whole bunch of support providers. We use The Data Collaborative, who are great.,Building and deploying business applications faster Improving our ability to drive insights from our data Improving collaboration across one or more teams Solving a specific business challenge Building and deploying an application (or multiple applications) that meets our exact needs,QuickBase adds new features every month and some are more useful than others. Though they recently added Webhooks which I implemented between two applications which allows logging of a location which I couldn't do before. They also have added new charting options recently which I was able to start using that day and have been instrumental to our sales group.,60,2,Customers and Sales Opportunities Manufacturing Quality Purchasing Sales Order Entry,We developed a Service Warehouse for the field service techs that automatically managers their part inventories and reorders parts as they use them. It was originally used from our Alumni Association database but I have implemented QuickBase into many of my functions at work.,I'm sure there are ways in the future that QuickBase can help that I haven't even though of yet. I have only been working with QuickBase for a couple of months and have thought of at least 8 different areas that QuickBase can help.,10,It has been a great aid to accomplish goal and made it a lot more streamlined and automated. I don't see any negatives in it so far.,Microsoft Access,Yes,Product Features Product Usability,I just wish that I would have heard about Quick Base sooner,Don't know,I was not part of the implementation process.,10,10,I can not recall,Creating the tables. creating triggers,Sometimes the formulas,Yes,10Quickbase for Manufacturing Structural SteelQuickbase is being used by the entire organization. We use it to track all current inventory, to create new orders, follow the orders, check them in, get them to the jobs that require the material, view the process of the job and all related tasks, make sure it's ready to be shipped out, and track it to it's destination.,Everyone has the access to the same information at the same time All edits made can be instantly viewed and reflected on It has great control over users access and permissions Great ability to use different applications for different needs in the company Customizable with layout as desired and adding personal code and scripts,Some times, it is difficult to search through some tables and applications Grid edit needs to be used in a slightly more integrated way with APIs Speed is a great concern for us, and when Quickbase is slow or the database is dragging along, we're hurting.,8,We have been able to make great use of the applications. It has aided us to view the jobs we do and maintain great track of them.,Airtable,There is hardly any difficulty at all, thanks to some great templates that anybody can use. They also come with examples sometimes, so that you can see how the application is intended to work. There might be some need for IT aid when the solution requires programming languages, but Quickbase can be run quite smoothly with little to no programming knowledge.,Improving our ability to drive insights from our data Improving collaboration across one or more teams Solving a specific business challenge Building and deploying an application (or multiple applications) that meets our exact needs,We have an application that is designed to track changes in Quickbase, Audit Trail. When we first implemented it, we could not believe how quick we got it going and how great it's functioned until now. In the end, I learned a lot, but it would have definitely helped to have gotten more help from someone with a ton of knowledge on the system.,9,Make sure to take advantage of the URL pages that you can create to aid the page. The apps are built by myself and can be used by anybody.,It's very easy for the end user to learn how to use the software. It's very easy to learn how to create custom apps and quickbase offers plenty of training. It's very flexible, almost any app can be built for any purpose.,I wish it had better HTML integration for more customization options. Quickbase can do just about anything, but you might have to upgrade your plan or buy extra plugins for it. More advanced app building can be difficult to diagnose problems.,9,Quickbase custom apps are quick and easy to get developed and pushed out. Some apps can be made and ready to use with in a few hours or a few weeks for the more complicated apps.,,Quickbase is easy enough for a non technical person to develop simple apps and reports, but I've found it easier to develop the core functionality of the app myself and allow the non technical user to have the ability to make changes and fine tune the small stuff like field names and reports.,Improving collaboration across one or more teams,Quickbase apps are easy to update, I do have one app that Ive built that requires constant update requests from the department that i built the app for. If it's a visual or naming update, the department have the ability and know how to do it, but for functionality updates I usually update the app for the department.,30,3,Project management Audit tracking Task tracking,By using this software as a way to help our audit department to keep track of tasks that need to be done. surveys,By further expanding tracking and task management to our other departments.,10,Its made project management a lot easier. were more organized and keep up better with deadlines now that we have a place to organize them.,Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server,No,Product Features Product Usability, nothing,Don't know,No,Change management was minimal, setting up active directory was the most difficult, but thats becasue our AD system hasnt been kept up with.,10,No,10,No,With helping set up and provide documentation for active directory access.,creating tables Creating relationships for those tables Creating reports, making complex relationships can get a little confusing,Yes, but I don't use it,10So much data...so little timeWe use QuickBase for project management and project accounting.,Revenue recognition Project profitability Project percent completion Project management,Currency translation Duplication of data entry,8,We have, but are still improving the applications.,Microsoft Access,Our apps were built by outside consultants but are maintained internally by finance and operations staff not IT,Improving our ability to drive insights from our data Solving a specific business challenge,Not done yet,100,1,Time keeping Task completion Project management,Nothing innovative yet,Dashboards for teams Resource allocation Profitability reporting,10,More accurate data Easier to consolidate,Concur Expense, QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions,Not Sure,Price Product Features,Was not here when it was implemented,Don't know,Don't know,10,10,No,While trying to build a report, I accidentally broke the link to detail items. We also return results within QuickBase and send emailed notifications when the results are ready. We log time estimates, hours spent, and have formulas set up to track SLA Compliance for each task type. We get a lot of data about all parts of our operations from the QuickBase reports. We have many teams using QuickBase in this manner, each with a workflow customized to their specific needs. We also have some other QuickBases set up to manage our internal training program and a similar one for client training, an internally facing client feedback tracker, management statistics for our support team, a lightweight bug tracker, and some smaller solutions here and there.,QuickBase allows a business user to customize or build an app with minimal database skills. If you can use MS Access, you can build a full-featured cloud-based app with QuickBase. QuickBase is easy to customize one the app is live. There is very low risk to deploying updates to the live environment because most updates are fast to make and just as fast to roll back if needed. QuickBase customer support is excellent. They respond quickly and tend to have a very good understanding of the product. Support team is always willing to get on the phone with me and help solve my QuickBase puzzle.,QuickBase is bad at supporting international business. There is no native support for user-based time zones or date formats. The database uses a character encoding that won't support languages besides English. The support team and staff are obviously not used to thinking about international business and seem stumped when asked how to solve for these problems. QuickBase's user interface is humdrum. It's possible to design a form for your users that is usable, but it does not look modern and elegant. QuickBase's mobile support is poor. It is possible to view your quickbase on a phone or tablet, but it's difficult to navigate most apps and takes many clicks/taps. QuickBase's per-user pricing makes it a bad choice for client-facing applications. You would have to pay for your internal users and for each client user. QuickBase is very receptive to feedback on their limitations, however their sales and support staff will constantly push you to solve for limitations on UI, mobile support, or client-facing applications by using a third party vendor who builds their app on top of QuickBase and will charge additional money to do so. The overall value proposition goes down when you take this into consideration. QuickBase charges per user, but does not provide any easy tools for user audits or user management. Any app builder in my company can invite any number of new users and they will be added to my bill without any option for me to block them. It is not easy to do inline editing of a table report in QuickBase. Their grid edit solution is very buggy and users often lose their changes to the data when encountering a bug in grid edit.,7,We are definitely able to rapidly deploy new business apps. It typically takes about a month to get a new app deployed, but half to 2/3 of that time is the "people" part---understanding requirements before the app is built, and working with the users to beta test and tweak the interface after it's built. The actual build time on a new app is very short for someone experienced with QuickBase. As an experienced app administrator, I can roll out a new app with some pretty nice features in half a day. A newer admin can, with some coaching, complete an app in a week or two.,Sales Force,New users can certainly create apps, but may take a little longer to get up to speed and get their app deployed. I especially notice a lot of new users get confused with the concept of table-to-table relationships. Typically someone who has never worked with a database will need to learn the very basics of database structure and design before they can really leverage the power of QuickBase. Thankfully QuickBase offers several recorded webinars that explain the basics from a QuickBase perspective quite well.I notice our newer QuickBase admins tend to make some structural mistakes in building their apps---doing things the hard way sometimes. These mistakes can be difficult to undo once the app is being used by many users. However, QuickBase offers community forums, recorded webinars, a fantastic and complete help center, and a support team. If a new developer takes advantage of all that QB has to offer, they can avoid such mistakes and come up with a really nice basic app to which they can add features over time.,Building and deploying business applications faster Improving our ability to drive insights from our data Improving collaboration across one or more teams,Simple updates like adding a field, adding a look-up field, changing a dropdown, customizing an email notification--these are completed in a minute or two and immediately available to users. This is an advantage of QuickBase over any other product I have tried. There are more complex scenarios wherein one discovers that the base structure of an app is not ideal. Recently we had to entirely rebuild a major app from which we gain data about all our clients. It was time-consuming because we decided to do it right, but the results have been well worth it. We started by creating a data dictionary for the old app. There is no easy way to export a data dictionary from QuickBase so this was more time-consuming than it should be. I had to copy/paste from an admin screen then remove the garbage data. We then re-mapped the tables of the app into a more logical structure and decided which fields to keep/change/remove. We logged all that in our spreadsheet before beginning any app building. Finally, with the new data mapping in mind, we exported all the old data from the old app and adjusted the spreadsheets so that it would be in the correct structure (and field names) for the new app. We then built the new app and imported the data. The total process took maybe 2-3 months, but the end result is an app that is very easy to use and update moving forward. I don't expect to ever need to make major structural changes to this app because it was built with flexibility in mind.So there you have it---the most complex rebuild of a complex app took 3 months at max. Keep in mind this was a side project for us, as we have zero people dedicated full time to supporting QuickBase. The operations owners take care of it in their spare time.,800,,Employee time tracking, relating hours data to revenue to assess profitability Project management and visibility for various longer term projects Request management for various shorter term requests, including tracking SLA adherence,We need better national and international support. Users need to be able to set their own personal time zone and then view all times or date/times within an app in their home time zone. They also need to be able to enter the times in their home time zone and it automatically gets translated back to the app's time zone upon save. While there is a workaround for viewing timestamps, there is no workaround for creating or updating timestamps outside of working with a QSP. We need users to be able to create a QB record by emailing a special email address. Gmail sync doesn't quite do the trick. If we had this feature, we could support ticketing workflows. We'd like to get more granular in our ability to track metrics related to requests. For example, if we need to track the time spent on hold for a request that goes in and out of hold status several times, it is difficult to do right now. We are close to a workaround with the new Automations feature, but Automations don't allow date fields to be used as report criterion for triggers.,9Quick Base is Key in Company Communication and Data ReviewQuick Base is currently being used by multiple departments in the company for different use cases, from tracking marketing activities and budget, sales opportunities, and our main CMS. Quick Base allows us to customize the system to our culture and processes and is fast and easy to update when new processes are in place.,Easy to build fields and forms for a customized user experience, based on their role. Ability to create conditions to streamline and automate complex processes. There are so many options to create reports, which is useful to only share the information a group needs to view, instead of having them sift through a huge report.,Additional functionality in the Dynamic Form Rules to include the ability to create an action or condition based on if a date falls into a quarter or year, instead of an actual date. Ability to colorize/highlight Sections and/or individual fields to correspond with internal processes or to call out a field even more that is required. We hide tables to simplify the navigation, however, we still need access to reports based on that table. Would be helpful if there was a master report section that accessed all reports available to that role, even if a table is hidden.,9,With Quick Base, we are able to change fields and form layouts on the fly. This is beneficial in streamlining workflows to how our team is using Quick Base today. With this flexibility, we can change it again months or years from now and not lose any data due to those updates. We also have an archival history for customers we've had for years or marketing events, which helps us create better sales processes or decision on our marketing spend.,,It is easy to set up an app for non-technical developers, as long as you have a strong App Diagram of how your app will be structured. I feel where app builders run into issues is when this vision is not clear, so they have to go back and rework table-to-table relationships or need to recreate or change a field type to get the data output required.,Building and deploying business applications faster Improving our ability to drive insights from our data Improving collaboration across one or more teams Solving a specific business challenge Building and deploying an application (or multiple applications) that meets our exact needs,We are continually updating one of apps to streamline and simplify the process for our teams to input information, and also update what information is now needed. Working in an ever evolving industry, Quick Base makes it easy to make those changes, and not lose historical data. More user-friendly form rule editing interface, more control on form rule, like copy rules to another form. More flexible data type/schema, which allows using any kind of fields in filter or joins. Auto increasing index field which duplicates records but editable. Editable duplicate built-in fields to allow better recovery function. Customized pages which allow a non-login visit[or] to collect data.,9,I think our organization has achieved this benefit. It is faster to build and kind of easy to maintain. Upon request of our users, most applications are more complex than default features and functions. Therefore supporting and maintaining them is no longer that easy. Hope QuickBase will provide more tools for more advanced developers.,Salesforce,It is really easy to build, but not that easy to build it right. My specific group is developing project management and scheduling tools to manage our capital projects. Our company as a whole is trying to consolidate spreadsheets, improve processes and improve communication across departments.,Quickly allow someone to build a proof of concept to help determine a process flow. This helps showcase to users and management the abilities of Quickbase and how much more powerful it is versus traditional access of Excel. Flexible to allow for on the fly modifications. So often an application is built knowing how to cover 80% of the process and as the exceptions become visible, it's easy to incorporate fixes in the system. Quick report building and sharing. Access and other programs take a ton of time to do what can be done in seconds in QuickBase. Quickbase support is very prompt and knowledgeable.,Gantt charts and their predecessor fields. Building scheduling apps is limited with their Gantt and predecessor fields. The form builder is rather cumbersome. I'd love to see a relationship diagram or a visualization in the Dynamic Form Rules because I can get lost in how many I've built and where there might be overlap. Many to Many relationships are rather difficult to create.,10,Yes, we're empowering business process owners to develop their own applications to consolidate spreadsheets/processes.,,Most of our citizen developers have a pretty easy time building apps. Those vendors can then submit proof they've completed the job and submit invoices. Previously this group was using a database built for them back in 1999! It's a gigantic improvement. We are giving different departments small applications as a starting point so they can gain confidence in building small solutions that have been major pain points for them. Afterwards we work with them to coordinate a more strategic plan to address their process and system needs leveraging their newly found enthusiasm and business side expertise. We're getting people to stop trying to recreate old, bad processes to maintain familiarity and to start trying to trim or reinvent actual need from the system.,We are going to start using Quick Base to project our labor requirements to allow us to start resource load our projects. We're going to start helping each department forecast work that comes from neighboring departments by getting alerts and reporting from the schedules each group creates. Quick Base is expanding at our company, as more and more users are in the apps, they have more ideas they would like to have built, this could be additional functionality in existing apps or new apps to replace and enhance manual processes or spreadsheets. Growth is also being seen with existing apps by providing additional visibility into apps for more groups. This growth in Quick Base provides additional opportunities for our employees to grow and work on different tasks. We are currently working on implementing a more comprehensive Citizen Development program to get our business units more involved,Availability to integrate with other systems Roles, permissions and security are easily manageable Dashboard are customizable,Better reporting More enhanced UI,10,Yes, we have implemented several business applications to track different types of project management, tracking assets, and tracking safety incidents. Some of our apps in production have been implemented to production if a day or two! Rapid Application Development at its best!,Microsoft Access,I do not have a programming background or education and I can develop in Quick Base. We have a team of people that can help with integrations, table structure and code pages when needed. Some apps do not require any of this to be complete and implemented. If I can develop an app many others can too! That is one of the many reasons we are working to expand our Citizen Developers, they know their data and they are the best people to determine more things they need done with their data! Our apps are very diverse and some take a short time to develop a couple of weeks and others take longer to implement due to integrations etc.,Building and deploying business applications faster Improving our ability to drive insights from our data Improving collaboration across one or more teams Solving a specific business challenge Building and deploying an application (or multiple applications) that meets our exact needs,We are regularly revisiting our apps with the Product Owner to provide additional functionality. It is most often used to streamline MS Access, spreadsheet or manual processes.,Quickbase provides an easy to use interface to build custom applications without a lot of programming experience. Quickbase has strong native integration capabilities that can allow a developer to use an excel source and replace it with a QB app in just a few minutes. Quickbase has an excellent comprehensive API layer that allows for quick and easy integrations with other systems.,Quickbase could really use some improvement in allowing users to easily and simply customize the UI to better meet their needs. I would love to see alternate keys be available for building foreign key relationships on tables as well as multi-column key values.,9,Yes we have seen this happen, typically to build a custom application from scratch we would see a 2 to 3 man full time IT developer team work for at least a few months in order to deliver the tool to production. With Quickbase we often see an app go live in just a few weeks with 1 or 2 non-IT citizen developers working on it.,Salesforce App Cloud,We use our citizen developers for almost all of our applications and they are able to handle 80% - 90% of all requirements without involving IT. None of our citizen developers have a formal IT background and are usually able to deliver an app or new feature set to production in 4 to 6 weeks.,Building and deploying business applications faster Improving our ability to drive insights from our data,Recently we found an issue with one of our apps that help us maintain our inventory counts. We have yet to delve as deep as we can into its potential uses, but at present it has addressed our problem with where to store documents and files, as well as, a way to manage and organize our current restructuring of our department's policies, procedures, and development.,It is very easy to create apps specific to our needs. It is a great way to manage and store documentation on many levels. It gives us a one stop location where we can organize our entire restructuring effort.,I would like to be able to upload and store larger video files and Captivate files without having to zip them. In our Learning/Training Department we have a need to share files so that we can have multiple sets of eyes on things as we design and develop learning elements. An easier or more intuitive method to share larger files would be great. It may be because I am still relatively new to QuickBase, but it is not the easiest to navigate when trying to add new users, edit functionality of an app, etc.,10,We have achieved this benefit to a certain extent, but have not yet realized the full potential of the product. I anticipate that as our restructure effort moves forward we will have ample opportunity to test this and realize even more benefit from using the product. From what we have seen of it up to this point it has been indispensable for us as a means to organize our restructuring.,,It can be difficult for non-technical developers to navigate through the creation of applications, however, with that being said, QuickBase help is very efficient and accessible when trying to build something from scratch. Their customer support is top notch and responds quickly to every inquiry for assistance that I have made so far.,Building and deploying business applications faster Improving our ability to drive insights from our data Improving collaboration across one or more teams Building and deploying an application (or multiple applications) that meets our exact needs,I have only updated a QuickBase-developed application twice so far, but both times it was very easy and painless. Make quick apps for your small local team, but large international teams beware of the limitations!

Future Planned Uses

  • We need better national and international support.
  • We need users to be able to create a QB record by emailing a special email address. Gmail sync doesn't quite do the trick. If we had this feature, we could support ticketing workflows.
  • We'd like to get more granular in our ability to track metrics related to requests. For example, if we need to track the time spent on hold for a request that goes in and out of hold status several times, it is difficult to do right now. We are close to a workaround with the new Automations feature, but Automations don't allow date fields to be used as report criterion for triggers.
