Overall Satisfaction with UserTesting

UserTesting is both used for validating concept design ideas within a restricted qualitative user test panel or in a more extensive situation regarding launching specific POC or Concept software solutions where we need to investigate the validity and affordance of the vertical experience path of features included in the vision.
  • Usability testing with video content from users
  • customer journey mapping
  • information architecture and content mapping
  • mockup / prototype and poc validation
  • concept test
  • Diary studies
  • interactive exercises during concept test
  • quantitative study
  • Increase delivery quality by increasing usability testing session
  • Reducing risks / user acceptance rate of early product design concept
  • Cost saving by reducing external partners / agency
The platform is pretty easy to use and it has a very clear interface. Also, FAQs are complete and we never had the need to request customer care support from humans. Overall the automated support is pretty clear but before using it the marketing communication explaining what the platform could do can be improved with more features/vertical examples.
UserTesting is a good design web platform with responsive/fluid design and easy-to-use navigation. Certain tools like the test preview can be improved by supporting better live editing to see how the changes are impacting the test UI, but overall the new test creation, the test type navigation, and report synthesis are clear to access and use.
UserTesting feedback is fundamental to documenting and describing specific design decisions. In general, the two streams where the tool was helping my team were in particular the validation of specific UX patterns (in terms of user acceptance, overall validity, and stakeholder decision-making input on implementation) and the validation of strategic company business decisions in which area/experience we should focus according to the qualitative inputs from concept test evaluations
Platform simplicity first, good pricing packages, good testing type coverage for multi-purpose use, good audience/panel. dscout is still very specialized in diary studies and does not offer a good platform for usability testing and high-level visual concept evaluation. Usabilla has less possibility to personalize survey studies with visual elements and widget integration of invasion/Figma prototype to expose more UX/UI details to users. Maze was the real competitor in the more wide and generic usage, but they are a bit more complex and less straightforward than UserTesting, especially for UX/UI validation.

Would you buy UserTesting again?

Yes

If you have a product concept for digital software (web/mobile/desktop) user testing is the best Platform for an initial user evaluation and to identify core features and relevant experience aspects to the users. For detail design and product definition and also A/B testing of multiple visual solutions for specific UX patterns are also one of the best tools in terms of simplicity and speed to structure continuous usability testing during design and development or agile product design & dev. It is also a great tool in validation software and portal content architecture and IA and in validating content strategy and user understanding.
