Constant contact was perfect for our needs for many clients, it wasn’t overly robust, but powerful enough to see strong ROI. With regards to the competitor tools, amongst standard ESP there’s not a huge difference as they all essentially work the same, it’s just about pricing …
I used Constant Contact because of a job or a client. I have not used in my business. I won't be using Constant Contact at this time in my business because I have more needs and a bigger budget.
Overall they can all accomplish the basics just fine. But I feel like Constant Contact is the light version of the more powerful software options out there. That being said, over the last year or so I haven't utilized it as much as I had in the past due to this, so their …
SharpSpring is much more dynamic in lead tracking. Constant Contact is similar in the user interface, but does not have the ability to do what SharpSpring can do. This is a much more fluid program to work well with other programs integrating sales and leads. I recommend …
We had been using Lead Forensics for a few years prior to SharpSpring. Once we learned about SharpSpring we knew we wanted to make the switch, but had unfortunately just resigned our year-long contract with Lead Forensics. Lead Forensics showed us which companies looked at …
We have used My Emma and Constant Contact. They didn't have the sales tool though which is really what helps consolidate the need for 2 separate platforms. In terms of pricing, it is a little higher. If you are an agency that can resell it and then make a profit that way, that …

We previously used Constant Contact and before moving to SharpSpring, we also looked at HubSpot. SharpSpring is considerably cheaper than HubSpot and we didn't need ALL of HubSpot's features, so that is why we went with SharpSpring. Comparing SharpSpring to Constant Contact …
SharpSpring has all of the functionality of HubSpot at a fraction of the cost. I used HubSpot at a previous position but I have found that I can do everything I want to do in SharpSpring without having to pay a fortune.
SharpSpring also offers significantly more functionality …
SharpSpring has an abundance of features, technology and value for the cost, especially compared to other platforms. We needed a large number of contacts and email allowance primarily. Either the other platforms didn't stack up in terms of features or functionality, or the cost …
I was a Certified Marketo Expert and most of the functions that are available in Marketo are also available in SharpSpring, but at a fraction of the cost. SharpSpring offers many automation configurations, though it's a little more work to set them up than Marketo, and the …
The integration of email to contact interactions on all media and connection to sales touch points is awesome and something email delivery platforms can't do. Now we know who reads our blog, opens our emails, and visits our website. That is sales and marketing gold. Before, I …

SharpSpring competes on all levels, and wins in great fashion in regards to communication and pricing.
Zoho was ok for tracking the life of our clients, meetings, and emails, but we never saw the capabilities we are seeing with SharpSpring. Automation and workflow mapping are simply amazing.

SharpSpring offers an incredible amount of functionality and visibility in one single tool, which makes our campaigns more cohesive and our efforts more efficient. The pricing is excellent and they continue to add more functionality without dramatic price increases. The ease of …
We like SharpSpring the best because of the Life of the Lead feature. We did not really see that feature on other marketing systems. Also, the price of the system and the agency model is a better value than those other systems. Finally, we like the staff as they are very …
SharpSpring is the best bang for your buck compared to other email and marketing automation tools. We chose it because has most of the features everything else has, but at a cheaper price. We decide to keep them because the software works great, but we also get more value as …
SharpSpring blows away any standard email marketing platform. SharpSpring is our first run with automation, but when it comes to email deliverability, personalization, and drip campaigns it is substantially better than any other email platform for a price that is extremely …
SharpSpring combines the best attributes of these marketing automation systems and CRM's to provide users with the ultimate flexibility in serving their client base efficiently and in the most cost-effective way possible.
We have not had in-depth work with HubSpot but have had access through various clients we work with and have not found any good reason to switch over to HubSpot, ourselves.
I've used Mailchimp, and while that service is fine, it does not have the dynamic capabilities that SharpSpring offers when running long term campaigns. That said, Mailchimp certainly takes the edge on making emails look good, and it is a more user friendly platform for …
SharpSpring is just a better, more holistic tool. SharpSpring has more features and functionality and is able to do more things. I also trust SharpSpring more than many other tools. I can confidently recommend SharpSpring vs. some of the others.
Cost is lower, ease of use on email automation is more intuitive, but the email builder is better on any of the other platforms. They also are organized around agencies, which is a big advantage for us. The cost to the client is a lot less, so we don't have to "sell" them on …
Way better than both of these other options and much more powerful. SharpSpring was our first foray into automating parts of this process, but it has been a pleasure to grow with and learn with along the way. Much more useful than the previous noted pieces of software, and the …
Constant Contact is an excellent tool for sending out flyers and newsletters. However, I feel the content's appearance is typically all the same. When I receive an email from Constant Contact, I can immediately identify it - the templates usually all look the same. When sending out communications with images, it is easy to use Constant Contact and link webpages. However, the email layout is always vertical and can get very lengthy. I prefer a more flip-book approach with options to flip the page.
SharpSpring is great for creating and tracking campaigns that span multiple channels. With the Salesforce integration, we are able to keep our Sales team focused inside Salesforce without them needing to learn a new tool. Our Marketing team uses SharpSpring to nurture leads before handing them off to the Sales team. Though the features are available, SharpSpring would not be suitable for social media management or blogs; our third-party tools do a better job at that.
Market segmentation is great: my main segmentation is by region because that's how our sales team is divided.
Lists: making customized email lists is easy and intuitive; the custom fields allow some flexibility in case our fields don't exactly line up with Constant Contact's.
Campaigns: creating campaigns is quick and simple. I especially appreciate the 'resend to non-openers' option. I am constantly using this feature.
Subject line generator: I like using the recommended subject lines. I'm able to plug in their recommended ideas, or sometimes, this feature helps me generate my own ideas.
Their Emailers are very easy to construct and user-friendly. It takes your Newsletter and sales emails to the next level, especially with the action groups and trigger functionalities.
The life of the lead functionality allows you to see when leads get warmer, so you know when to send them what. Helps improve conversions.
It would be nice if we had more customizable options for emails - like moving around pictures and text boxes, rather than a set spot for everything to go.
I would like it if multiple people could work on a document at one time. So if I'm in charge of graphics, I can get those updated while someone else is entering content, etc.
The landing page builder is a bit hard to use. Doesn’t have much flexibility.
Sometimes confusing between types of workflows to use. Opportunity versus visual.
If you imported contacts that weren’t formatted correctly. It is hard to delete a bull amount. Need to type DELETE for each one manually. No bull options to make changes.
There is no doubt that we are going to renew Constant Contact. We have not just invested a lot of time in learning and creating a great looking product but we have developed a strong database of information that allows us to track how we are doing for each newsletter. This supports our goals of creating products that residents desire and are excited to receive.
We have been very impressed with all aspects of this software and the potential for it to radically change how we operate is huge! Support has been exceptional and we have discovered many extra uses for the software than originally thought. Not only will it give us benefits for our company's growth, but for our client's growth as well.
There is always room for improvement. I don't know how they test their systems, but they should invite not-so computer savvy people to test it. If I, as an expert have problems, they need to think like the technophobe. Since I've used Constant Contact in the past as part of my former employment, I have not viewed any of the tutorials and just jumped in to work on my client's newsletter. With that said, I found some areas easy and some a bit cumbersome
This rating is coming from an administrative perspective. With so many features, workflows, dashboards, and more, there is certainly a lot going on, and even the most savvy software user can get a little overwhelmed when trying to decide how to best implement and utilize the platform to its full potential. That being said, the SharpSpring platform is well-implemented and well-organized, with most solutions being fairly intuitive, once you have a grasp of the software. It is fairly easy to learn, but difficult to master. Just like any powerful platform, however, the complexity is worth it, and once you are comfortable navigating and problem solving within SharpSpring, it becomes a great marketing and sales tool which can do virtually anything you need it to.
The system seemed quite slow sometimes. Specifically, there was sometimes a delay in sends if it was during a high traffic period. There were time-outs when uploading new code for an email, and a lag in reporting analytics which was sometimes as long as 72 hours
I think the overall support for Constant Contact has always been incredible; I have nothing negative to say. Our customer support representative was attentive, easy to understand, and very knowledgeable. I never felt like I wasn't a priority of his and my issues, while very small, were fixed in a very short time frame.
The support is great which really helps overcome challenges if you become stuck and the training videos are great too. Same-day replies are great and I even got some help with some CSS code on the chat. Not many organizations would do this or even respond.
Implementation is very easy for someone who wants to send out the “batch and blast” type newsletters. If you want to use their templates with no customizations, the product works fine. However, the more customizations you get into involving link color, etc, that’s where things can get tricky for someone who may not be familiar with coding
Overall I would say to be patient and bring everyone who will be touching the platform to the onboarding sessions. The Virtual Classroom lets you onboard as quickly or slowly as you want. Sales, marketing, design, account management, get 'em all in on it. For the most part, they will be happy to use this platform. I recommend getting as many people as possible to see the SharpSpring demo.
Constant Contact is much more intuitive for people who are not tech-savvy. Also, while sendgrid offered more options in it's drag and drop interface, it displayed differently across different email clients, which made it very cumbersome to use. It also took much longer to upload contact lists and it was harder to manage existing contacts. Performance in sendgrid was much slower as well, and the Preview feature was quite buggy. Our team initially chose sendgrid because of the integration options that it's API offered, but we ultimately switched to Constant Contact because it was much easier to build campaigns and better suited our requirements.
We use different CRMs for different clients, mostly due to budget and other requirements. SharpSpring from Constant Contact is in the middle, price-wise, but is slightly more user-friendly than ActiveCampaign when it comes to certain things, such as drip campaigns and workflows. Though the price can be prohibitive to some clients, it is extremely robust. I definitely prefer the list-building, the ability to send smart emails and the WYSIWYG editor.
Very reliable in sending email campaigns and controlling the recipients so that no contact is sent the same email more than once, even if they are on a resent list
I have had nothing but positive impacts from using Constant Contact.
The church is large, and there are many subgroups and axillary groups within the church. Setting up specific groups based on responsibility, interest, member goals, and service needs allows me to send information quickly, saving valuable time for other tasks.
Constant Contact allows leadership to stay personally engaged with the members I work with, without over-taxing my time. It feels so seamless.
Streamlined Processes - sales and marketing are now all in the same place.
Reduced Number of Platforms/Tools - CRM/lead management, email, automation, landing pages, forms, etc are all in the same place rather than using multiple tools.
Time-saving - sales pipeline is very easy to use for sales. For marketing, we have dozens of workflows that eliminate much of our manual processes from the past.
Return on Investment - We're more focused on moving the building the business than ever before because SharpSpring has simplified so many of our business operations and we're seeing massive results!
Lead generation - Up SIGNIFICANTLY (between 3x & 4x) since setting up SharpSpring.
