Chose Dayforce
Dayforce HCM is the first multi feature platform I've used. My experience with iCIMS was limited to just the ATS functions. Having payroll, HR, and benefits all rolled into one system has proven to be invaluable in assisting with managing an organization and its daily operations.
Chose Dayforce
We have used API in the past for scheduling, timesheets, pay cards, etc. It was an older system and we needed to upgrade. We use iCIMS for our preboard and ATS system right now. It would be great to have all systems in Dayforce but the ATS system was not ready for the amount of …
Chose Dayforce
having it all in one place has made it easier for managers to view employees time cards and pay, helped eliminate usage of multiple systems by payroll, and helped training of new hires within business units
Chose Dayforce
We have noticed huge time savings across a variety of processes.
Chose Dayforce
There are a bunch of other products like Dayforce that I've evaluated over the past 5-10 years, just took too long to select them but as a general statement, there are not many of the major HRIS tools that I haven't explored at any given time. We've hit on the single …
Chose Dayforce
Having an integrated solution has improved manager and employee self-service and data accuracy (one source of truth).
Chose Dayforce
Ease of use and less privacy/data challenges with non-integrated systems. Having the ability to have a manager review their employees time/payroll in one application is extremely helpful.
Chose Dayforce
The integration between HR, Time & Benefits, and Payroll works very smoothly, which allows us to trust and rely on the data we see. We especially like the ability to be in a module and pop into People to check a pay rate or other HR data. Also, being able to see the time data …
Chose Dayforce
While using multiple HR systems, there is a nightly feed by which information flows from one system to another. There is a delay in obtaining information. If all processes are in one system it is more efficient. It also makes employees feel happy as they are able to see the …
Chose Dayforce
We don’t have them all in Dayforce.
Chose Dayforce
Having to integrate an HR system with timekeeping system, and then sending time data back to HR/Payroll system for payroll purposes is to say the least cumbersome and quite frequently something in the integration would break. Then there is a lot of time wasted trying to …
Chose Dayforce
When we had ADP everything was a separate platform which wasn't as streamlined or efficient. UlltiPro sells themselves as one database, but the truth of the matter is they still have some separation. That is what won us over on Dayforce - the fact that they truly did have …

Chose ICIMS Hire
I'd say iCIMS is a better tool than what functionality I've been exposed to in SuccessFactors and Paradox. It's less convoluted than Paradox, but maybe lacks some of the automation. Compared to isolved, it's on par. I'd say our company is fully invested in all aspects of isolve…
Chose ICIMS Hire
iCIMS gives the customer a faster way to apply to a job than ADP. I was losing candidates before they would officially apply for a job with ADP.
Chose ICIMS Hire
We recently went through an RFP process and iCIMS was a finalist with Avature and Jobvite. iCIMS finished third in that RFP because of their high cost, challenging customer service, difficult reporting and their ability to work with us on customization of our site.

Dayforce
I think Dayforce is a great option for a large and/or Global organization. I do not think it would be the best fit for a very small company or business. It really shines for enterprise organizations with multi-locations. While a small business could use it, I would say it has too many bells and whistles that might feel overwhelming to a smaller organization.

ICIMS
When we partnered with ICIMS in 2018, it met our needs. 8 years later, I think ICIMS can offer more. AI needs to be incorporated into its system to better service its customers. The other recommendation is that they should offer training and communicate more often with their clients. Their dashboard should also be improved to make it easier on the eyes.

Pros
Dayforce
  • Payroll - it shows everything in real time and it runs quickly.
  • People - Having all employee details from the offer letter to W2 information in the same spot.
  • Dayforce Wallet: The on-demand feature is fully integrated with Timesheets and Payroll. What shows in one will be in the other.

  • My favorite: Workflow Auto-Process Rules. When moving a candidate to the "Phone Screen" stage, the system can automatically trigger a text message to them with a link to my calendar. Once they pick a time, it sends the calendar invite to both of us and attaches their resume for me.
  • It eliminates the manual emailing, making the company look incredibly fast and organized to the candidate.
  • The simplicity with which you are able to navigate the tooling. Very intuitive, requires little training and troubleshooting. At a prior company we were using a robust system which took me weeks to navigate and learn. As a hiring manager, this is such a drag as I am not constantly hiring people to keep the skills fresh.
  • ICIMS Hire is great at reporting on past applications. Whenever I have a new opening on the team, instead of spending ad money on social, I go dig for "star candidates" that applied 1 year ago, for example, and start there. I personally hired a returning candidate this way which is such a great relationship builder with possible future candidates.

Cons
Dayforce
  • There have been a few instances of users being locked out of Ceridian due to recent upgrades. Not ideal when an employee wants to see their paystub and is suddenly have login issues.
  • Not the best for when an employee is transferred to another country as their employee number is locked to their SIN or SSN. And, we are required to create a new user record with a new employee number for the new country.

  • It is a little difficult to track internal applicants that are already active with our company.
  • Some of the fields when hiring an employee are a little difficult to change.
  • Not a sure way of identifying "eligible for rehire" within iCIMS for those that re-apply.

We are highly invested in Ceridian's Dayforce product. It give us the flexibility and scaling that our growing company needs. Its potential reaches beyond the basic HR functions to the decision making that our Management Team needs. We would highly likely renew iCIMS Hire because it consistently delivers strong value across our recruiting process. It streamlines workflows, improves collaboration between teams, and provides reliable reporting and insights. The system is scalable, user-friendly, and continues to evolve with new features, making it a dependable long-term solution for our hiring needs.

Usability
Dayforce
I think it's very usable for the employee. I don't think it is as easy for the HR/PR admins - especially if there is an issue. There are so many setup screens that need to be looked at to try to figure out why payroll isn't calculating properly, hours aren't feeding over correctly, or benefits are not calculating properly. For the most part, they can't do their own troubleshooting. The same is true for the managers. Our managers find it cumbersome to go into make any schedule changes after the schedules have been generated.

ICIMS
The platform is intuitive once configured and makes managing candidate pipelines, status updates, and communication straightforward. However, certain tasks—like custom reporting, bulk updates, and navigating between modules can feel a bit cumbersome and could benefit from a more modern interface. Overall, it’s reliable and effective for structured, high-volume recruiting environments like federal hiring.

Reliability and Availability
Dayforce
Dayforce's high availability ensures that our HR processes are supported around the clock, which is critical for a global organization like ours. The platform is cloud-based, offering reliable access from any location at any time, allowing our employees, managers, and HR teams to stay connected regardless of time zones or geographic locations. This level of availability ensures that payroll processing, employee self-service, and real-time data access continue uninterrupted, even during peak periods or unforeseen disruptions. The system’s robust infrastructure minimizes downtime, which is vital for operations that span multiple regions. Additionally, having a centralized platform that’s always available helps keep our teams aligned, ensures compliance, and facilitates timely decision-making across all our locations.

There is always ample advance notice before the software goes down for maintenance and this is usually done at off-peak hours. As for system failures - I can't think of any that have effected us in over two years od use.

Performance
Dayforce
We haven't noticed any slow-down due to the integration of Dayforce WFM with our Ceridian HPL products (HRIS and Payroll). The new HTML view of the timesheets don't load as quickly as the old Silverlight view - however, we have gotten used to the change.

Support Rating
Dayforce
Most of the time the support is great; it's not always super efficient but I always get the help I need. Occasionally it takes a lot longer than we had hoped or get conflicting responses. We had one ticket recently where we were told we would have to pay the service team to support us on the project and then another person called the next day with the solution to our query and was able to find a solution easily. Generally, though, the response is great and they either walk me though how to do something via a Zoom Meeting or they email step-by-step instructions on how to do it and say if I have questions we can set up a meeting to discuss further.

ICIMS
Before pandemic and iCIMS Talent Cloud acquisitions I would give 10 without a doubt. Unfortunately, I see a strong decrease in the support model, which seems to be mainly connected with the fact that acquired companies/tools/features need to be integrated with the platform, and knowledge of newly provided services and tools were not yet incorporated fully into the support.

I would say I believe iCims online training is very good. It's informative, visually appealing, and simple in explaining all the different aspects of iCims. I also really like the new candidate onboarding, and all the other training curricula you have up to be able to inform or send out to the candidate. I like you can attach a URL link for videos as well so you can really customize the training. I feel that overall, I would like to see more. Perhaps, more robust options with the training, if that's something iCims is expanding on in the future.

Have a strong internal team. Communicate with your implementation team - they are there to make it work for you. Take the time to really think about how you want the system to work for you - in some cases, you may need to rethink your own business practices to see if you are working harder when the system could do it for you

I can't speak much to how it would be if we had all of these features separately since I started with Dayforce all being integrated and have no other experience, but having it all in one place has made the completion of all of these HR tasks seamless. We can direct all of our energies into the same system, and it makes it easier to field employee inquiries and to troubleshoot when we need to

Fully available automation, lesser bad data quality, more information is gathered at the time of applicant profile creation without having the need to ask for any follow ups or additional notifications. Integrates better with Oracle, Workday and SAP than other similar systems. Service tickets are resolved faster than other vendors we worked with.

Scalability
Dayforce
Overall, we are extremely happy with the Dayforce WFM module. Our biggest pain point is concerning the twice annual software upgrades - which is the only reason I haven't rated them as a '10'. Because every customer is configured differently, the upgrades can sometimes have adverse effects on our current configured policies/rules. And although they roll-out the upgraded version in a test environment several weeks before go-live, not all testing is accurate in that environment. Some issues do not present themselves until you are working with live punches.

  • Performance Reviews/Comp used to be handled via paper and tracking/reporting was a nightmare - having all of that in the system is so much more efficient and provides huge ROI
  • Our organization used to have big problems with hiring managers going rogue and hiring positions that aren't approved by Finance - we built an approval workflow in the system that triggers before any req is approved which has completely solved this problem
  • Dayforce Wallet has been a huge perk for our employees - it's heavily used and our crew love it
