Box is a very helpful file-sharing tool in our organization. It allows multiple depts and users to access files without worrying about file sizes and/or compressing files. The app can also be very helpful in the fact that team members can access documents from anywhere to reference at any time.

Box is great for more sensitive materials and large file sizes. It's very comparable to Google Drive, which I use free. It can be nice to have the different customizations and settings on Box, but not sure if it would be my go-to file-sharing workspace.

Our organization uses Box to store reports and documents, as well as share across teams. It helps us share files among multiple teams and users, create separate folders and sections per team, organize files and limit and give access to different levels of users as needed. We also sync it with our personal folders and easily upload/download files.
  • Syncing with personal folders makes it very easy to upload/save/download shares docs and files
  • Creating folders with different permission levels helps share appropriate files with different team members and audiences
  • Each user can save files in Box, instead of overwhelming their personal folders on personal machines
  • Viewing reports in Box is almost impossible, because the preview functionality is very outdated
  • Finding folders in Box is not easy, as the breadcrumbs do not link to interim folders, but only start and end points
  • sometimes Sync fails and has to be rebooted to make sure users have the latest versions of files in their personal folders
Box works very well to share files and large reports with teams. It's a great backup, but may not be the best tool to use as a primary storage for company files.

Across the whole org. Acts largely as a data repository. For Finance in particular, we are able to maintain version control and data integrity.

  • Pricing - its not cheap!
Box is well suited to data security, version control and as a data respository. Also has good integregations with other apps. The big unknown is BoxSign - this could be a game changer.

We are using Box for our primary cloud storage across 11 global offices. It has allowed us to ditch our on-prem file server along with regular hardware troubleshooting, mobile usage, real-time collaboration, unlimited storage space, and thus no pressure to constantly expand local storage space, and, finally, no more VPNs required so staff can access their files from any device, anywhere and anytime.
  • Unlimited cloud storage.
  • Real-time collaboration.
  • Versatility and software/hardware agnostic.
  • Pricing: if you pay for an enterprise license, you would not expect to pay for any add-ons.
  • File size limitation (currently 15GB) could be increased significantly.
Great for online collaboration, secure file transmission, large file storage, mobile and remote access.

It's used by our department. It provides reliable and easy to use document storage, which is accessed by hundreds of users daily and is essential for our day-to-day.
  • The user interface is extremely easy to navigate and allows less tech savvy users to find what they're looking for easily.
  • It is reliable and we have never had an issue with lost or missing files (unlike our previous document storage).
  • It is fast to upload/download, and if there are ever issues affecting the user experience, administrators are notified and kept up to date so we can disseminate the information through our organization.
  • Box Drive doesn't work well on our computers - extreme (days to never) delays updating.
  • The Outlook integration is great, except that it would be better to be able to attach files using the buttons, rather than inserting a link.
  • It is annoying to have the Box pop up in every new email asking to store an attachment on Box, even those that are being attached via Box Drive.
It is great for collaborating within our department. All of our department's work is stored in Box, and it's accessed by multiple users daily, and is always reliable, super easy to use, and never gets in the way of doing our work.

Box is utilized by associations and undertakings chiefly as a distributed storage administration, and in this way for sharing archives, media, and other stuff on the cloud. It likewise considers imparting the substance to others and gatherings in the association just by giving them the essential consents, since greater documents will experience difficulty in transfer and send through email.
  • There is a record size limit on Box.
  • In the event that a specific record surpasses a given size, Box won’t have the option to match up the document from our PC onto their cloud worker.
  • The interface ought to give the office to do particular matching up of documents from my computer.
  • It is utilized across the association and establishes a climate where everybody can without much of a stretch offer documents in only a single tick.
  • Not incredible for utilizing as a reinforcement.
  • At the point when I required it to, it could just do particular record the executives, not whole folders.
  • I did prefer to have the option to see more substance when I utilize the work area program.
We get a lot of archives to peruse so it's not difficult to share and get reports. I additionally need to peruse a great deal of those reports over the course of the week. I regularly work with movie producers and makers across the globe, and Box empowers me to get video and send sound records without leaving my work area, which makes my business cash and advances rehash business.

All students in our university are provided with the facility to use Box. Students are encouraged to store their research material and other stuff on it since it's easily accessible and has unlimited storage.
  • Unlimited storage
  • Easy synchronization of files to your computer
  • The interface is pretty straight forward and anyone can use it easily.
  • The files are stored properly and can be shared very easily for collaboration between users.
  • There is a file size limitation on box. If a particular file exceeds a given size, box wont be able to sync the file from your computer on to their cloud server.
  • The interface should provide the facility to do selective syncing of files from the computer.
Box is well suited for syncing any type of files stored on your computer. It is good for creating backups for your data which can be accessed anywhere. The software has apps for the pc and mobile phones which lets you access files on the go. The only issue is that there is a file size limitation and the software won't let you sync your files from the computer if they exceed a size set by the software.

This has a deep integration with Mac and Windows OS.
This is a collaborative tool, which is being used to share documents from desktop to cloud within an enterprise.
This is reliable and has security protection while accessing the cloud and large data.
This also has great admin tools which help in collaboration management where the data can be restricted with privileges.
Also has a great sharing feature as large data can be shared among multiple people.
  • Helps to sync all the contents in cloud along with that of the Box installed. It integrates with file explorer on that of windows or macOS
  • Sharing of files is very seamless and easy task especially when there are multiple people involved in the organization or project to work.
  • This has a great feature of controlling the access of the files as well as folders and set appropriate privileges while sharing or collaborating with others.
  • Can be shared via link or email and can be managed when it comes to collaboration.
  • It has a great security feature enabled which has AES 256 bit encryption and also has the scope for full end to end encryption. This also has a 2 factor authentication enabled for additional security.
  • When it comes to pricing, and when it comes to personal pro plan then the cost is a little high.
  • There could be limited consumer options available.
  • Some of the features might get overlapped.
1) It is well suited when it comes to large file transfer.
2) Transfer required via email/link with managed collaboration.
3) For easy access of data on cloud and easy sync.
4) This fits the best with enterprises and has the chance to integrate with many tools and s/w and OS.
Whereas this is less appropriate:
1) When it comes to having a personal setup or personal pro account then it comes to a little more price.
2) Also when we speak about many consumer options, there is also a chance of improvements.
3) This also has some of the features which are overlapping.

I use Box to transfer files to and from clients, including music libraries that use my music in television shows, so it’s a vital part of my income and business strategy. Box allows me to work with people all over the world without leaving my studio in Los Angeles--and with great upload speeds and storage.
  • Easy to use
  • Cost effective
  • Frequent updates
  • Great service
  • App could be a bit more robust
  • I wish they had higher presence in my industry
I often work with filmmakers and producers across the globe, and Box enables me to receive video and send audio files without leaving my desk, which makes my business money and promotes repeat business. File transfer & storage software is a vital tool to my business. I wouldn’t be able to survive without it, and Box is a leader of that industry.

Box makes collaboration seamless! With the current landscape, it's important to collaborate efficiently and Box allows teams to do just that! Overall, pleased with the software. I also like that the software offers all of the document formats that I work on and look for. I also like that there's a notifications feature that lets me know which updates have been made.
  • Ease of sharing: Extremely important when multiple people/departments are working on the same project.
  • Saves hard drive space by housing files in the cloud.
  • Getting the link to share files instantly in a single click.
  • Editing Excel words directly through the web-based app.
  • No training available.
  • Mobile app is horrible.
It's a very intuitive product. I am sure there are lots of features and functions that I am still not aware of, but the service has been easy enough to learn as I go without needing to be sent for extensive training in order to understand how to get started.

Box is used by our organization as an alternative to Google Drive. It is used by the whole organization for sharing assignments and lectures among students. It has solved problems regarding data sharing among multiple members of the organization and among students. It is an amazing data storage option with the best plans and pricing available.
  • It has provided 50 GB of massive storage option with free organizational ID.
  • User friendly interface. You can easily create folders and upload files.
  • Security is much better as compared to other alternatives.
  • Nothing much to dislike but, there are few limitations that needs improvement.
  • Requires an internet connection while accessing Box.
  • Heavy files require fast and stable internet connection.
Box is well suited for data storage and sharing but, for free users storage needs enhancement. Free users should be provided with much more storage. It is a file storage category of the tech stack. We share data among students and members to deliver our lectures more effectively and to share lectures for later usage.

Currently, Box is used across departments to share sensitive information which can be subjected to various data safety regulations. Box ensures that we exchange information as safely as possible without additional work.
  • Simple to use with user friendly interfaces
  • Ease of adding / removing users and supports multiple levels of access
  • Uploading / downloading files is fast and one step process
  • Folder structure can be difficult navigate and find what you need exactly at once
  • Shared files do not indicate current viewers / users
  • depends on internet
Box is ideal if you are sharing sensitive information ( such as patient information that should be protected under HIPAA ) with another party and the safety of the information is important.

However, if you are sharing general documents and files without any sensitive information, a general application like Google Drive would also do the job.

Box is used in some capacity by all employees. Some departments, such as Customer Service, use Box daily. Other departments (including my own in Marketing) only use Box every week or so.
  • Lots of storage.
  • Ability to share easily.
  • Easy user interface.
  • I’d like to see more pricing structures offered.
Box is very easy to use when it comes to uploading and sharing files. I’ve uploaded a number of different file types (PDF, JPG, INDD, RTF, MP3) with no issue. You can share just one file at a time, or you can share larger folders with an audience. We also change the settings sometimes so that certain audiences can view but not download the contents.

We receive and have to share a lot of files and Box has been great to organize all of that. I've also used it to help organize documents to read each week using the iPad app as a reader to make management as to what's read easy.
  • Organize documents
  • Share documents
  • Tablet reader
  • An easier "offline" mode
  • Management across folders to find similar files
We get a lot of documents to read so it's easy to share and receive documents. I also have to read a lot of those documents over the week. So, they're loaded up into folders to organize them where I'm able to select and read them when I'm able to.

Box is used throughout the organization and is an efficient way to back-up, share data, and edit documents across multiple departments. It is most useful for backing up important data and reports in the cloud. It is also useful for collaborating and streamlining workflows, but it is more intuitive and easier to use than other collaboration platforms such as Github.
  • easy to install and set up
  • Cross- platform. Box can be installed on Mac OS and Windows, and you can always access your files online.
  • Syncing is done nearly instantaneously. All files in the Box folder have a checkmark next to them, and when they've synced, the checkmark turns blue.
  • I would like to see a free option for Box
  • Very large files cannot be synced unless you get a premium version. This is a bit of a drag, as I use many large, important datasets.
  • When you first install Box, you have to move all the files you want to sync into the folder, which can take a lot of time.
Box is a simple, intuitive way to keep your files backed up. It would be well-suited for business settings or personal use. Although I'd still like to see some sort of free option, the lowest-priced Box option would probably have enough storage to be sufficient for personal use. It is also useful for collaboration, especially when collaborators use different operating systems. Box can be installed on Mac OS and Windows.

It's used across the organization for all document sharing needs.
  • One stop shop for all files
  • Sharing files isn't too hard
  • It's HIPAA and HITRUST compliant
  • Multifactor was a chore to use, but that's an organization choice. It's nice to have the option
  • I wouldn't use it for file management. It does better with collaboration
  • Not great for using as a backup. When I needed it to, it could only do selective file management, not entire folders.
Well suited for HITRUST and HIPAA organizations that need their data to use those security standards. It ties in with 2FA and other standards well. Otherwise, there's plenty of options out there that give you more control, if you don't need the security standards.

We use Box as a safe file transfer mechanism. We can use it to get files to DMZ and other areas where typical file transfer isn't available. We use it with MFA authentication, and each user has 1TB of space making it an almost ideal solution for our business.

  • Ease of use
  • Ease of Organization
  • File transfer can be slow at times, particularly on uploads

Box is used at an organizational level with separate domain structures for each department. It is an extremely reliable file syncing and storage service and has enhanced collaboration features. It's got a good file storage size limit and the auto-sync feature makes it one of the better solutions for document sharing and storage.
  • Third party tool integration
  • Automatic on demand file synchronization
  • Well designed for collaborative environments
  • Not as well integrated with the operating system like Goolge Drive or Microsoft OneDrive, not a deal-breaker though
  • Desktop app is slightly over-complicated with too many options.
It is well suited for sharing files and documents with teams where various team members do make changes and maintain versions of the document. Sharing very large documents may not be very efficient as sharing within the intranet is much faster than doing the same on cloud storage.

My client is using Box to store all of their documents and images rather than storing them in Salesforce. The client uses Box to store their applicants information that they updated via a portal and the link to Box is then stored in Salesforce. Box is much more affordable than Salesforce for storing data and the process we have setup for them really works and saves them time and money.
  • Cheaper alternative for storing large amounts of data.
  • User friendly.
  • No learning curve.

Box is essential to a client we work for for organizing and storing documents. We use it to collaborate and share living documents, protocols, SOPs, etc. Having one place to go to find everything you need to complete your work is the main benefit here - the "cloud" if you will.
  • Speedy upload and download times
  • Very simple and easy to use user interface
  • Version number - you get a new version every time you modify a document, or upload a document with the same title, in the cloud. This can be confusing when working with documents that don't accurately reflect the version number.
  • All Box needs now is a "smart" feature where it can "predict" what document you want to touch next. Yes - copy what Google Drive is doing.
8 because Google Drive for business gets the slight edge. I'd still recommend this service as it's (probably?) cheaper than Google and it does solve all the problems you need a cloud storage solution needs to solve. I really love the user interface too - simple and clean, not too cluttered. Shoutout to the "Collections" feature too - at this point that's my go to for all my frequently used documents.

Honestly, all of my experience with Box has been client-side, which I still think is a valuable experience to review. For over a decade, companies have been using Box to send us files to download for entertainment review purposes. It aids in securely getting files to us to be used on a professional level. It's a relatively easy service for us to use as well.
  • Presents data clearly for us to access
  • Organizes it for ease of use
  • Can store data for long-term access
  • A login banner alert covers the download button each time, which makes it easy to miss
  • More options for downloading / storing like Dropbox has
  • Add checkboxes next to individual files for selecting just a few files
While it's a useful tool, I don't see it used in the entertainment field quite as often as Dropbox, and I wouldn't say it's a better service. Also, the fact that they share such similar names, it's really easy to mix the two up. I do find them both vital tools for media use, however.

A specific scenario in which it's best suited for use is a temporary transfer of media files from a group or organization to a client for, in our case, review purposes (like music). We use it regularly and are thankful for it.

We use Box across our estimating and takeoff departments. It allows us to share large files with each other, clients and other stakeholders. We really enjoy the versatility and flexibility of Box as well as its ease of use. Another advantage of using Box is speed. Rather than worry about how to get large files to someone, we can send them a Box link and they have it readily available to download.
  • Ease of use
  • User Friendly
  • Easy to navigate
  • too many options
  • initial setup if you do not have an account
  • not everyone knows about it
Definitely something you want to have in your arsenal if you are sharing or sending files inside or outside of your organization. It is also something you hope people outside of your organization utilize as well as it will make file sharing much much easier. I definitely tink that for a file sharing service, it is one of the top ones available to use.

Our organization has been using Box for about 5 years now. We use it across the entire organization though not consistently, unfortunately. The biggest drawback to using it more often and more frequently is the ease with which documents can be edited at the same time by multiple users in Google Docs, for example. The ability to control who shares documents with whom is the biggest plus for us. Unfortunately, Box does not provide HIPAA compliance unless you are at a certain contract level or user size. We are a high-growth company meaning we currently share folders with outside users during the acquisition process. After acquisition, these users transition to employees and it is not easy to transition their accounts from an outside user to a managed user, especially when email addresses change.
  • Lock down document access.
  • Limit document sharing.
  • Limit document editing.
  • Editing is difficult within Box.
It's a well-suite for storage. It is really not well-suited for collaboration and editing like GoogleDocs or Sharepoint.
