QuickBooks is much more user friendly than Peachtree. Our Peachtree database was always corrupting and after having to re-enter several months worth of data because the backups were corrupt also, we switched to QuickBooks. We have not had any issues since we switched.

QuickBooks is way cheaper and easier to use than FinancialForce. You don't need the integration with Salesforce that many people want. Accounting staff only need QB. You don't need Bill.com either if you have an accounting staff. He/she should be able to learn how to print checks using QB only.

There is limited competition for a small business. The desktop version is something that in the long-term Quickbooks may want to phase out in favor of its online version. But the desktop version is more robust and cost-effective when using it for many years.

We've never had a need to evaluate or consider another software package. We've been approached by Microsoft (CostPoint) and Deltek but haven't even thought of going through a demo. We know QuickBooks Pro has what we need and does everything in an easy and affordable manner. Why fix what isn't broken?

QuickBooks Pro compares fairly well with the products mentioned above, but ultimately we mainly use QuickBooks Pro because it is easily adapted to most industries, and also because the majority of our clients use QuickBooks Pro, so it is easier for us to mainly use the same program especially when we are verifying accounts, etc.

Haven't really used much else. Excel spreadsheets for smaller clients. QuickBooks allows us to work on clients books with the accountant's backup, while the client can still work on the current year information. General ledger provided the detail needed. Balances can be adjusted with journal entries and are pretty simple to enter.

Sage is good if you are in manufacturing or if you have a proficient bookkeeper. Most small companies do not have a good bookkeeper and QuickBooks is a much better fit for our clients. QuickBooks is easier to use than Sage products.

We have used Sage and Peachtree as alternatives to QuickBooks Pro and have found for the money and ease of use for any employee QuickBooks is a better option for our firm. Sage and Peachtree require more training to use and some reporting is harder to locate in the program than in QuickBooks Pro. We have clients who use other accounting solutions such as FreshBooks, Quicken and Wave but again the reporting on QuickBooks is quick and easy to use, print, and share.
