  • Automated Notifications: Integrated tools like Jira, Trello, and Google Drive to receive automated notifications and updates directly in Slack, improving visibility and efficiency within the team
  • Message Encryption: Slack encrypts the messages in transit and at rest, ensuring the security and privacy of sensitive information and making our IT team's life much easier.
  • Reminder Bots: We used Slackbot to set reminders, automate follow-up actions, and provided information based on user queries.
  • SurveyMonkey Integration: Integrated our Slack with SurveyMonkey to distribute surveys and collect feedback from team members, streamlining the feedback-gathering process which was a huge support to our HR and Admin team.
  • While threads exist to keep conversations organized, managing and finding threads within channels can be cumbersome. Enhancements in thread management and search capabilities could be beneficial.
  • Slack has a limit on the size of files that can be directly uploaded. Increasing this limit or providing smoother integration with external file-sharing services could be beneficial.
  • Managing guest access can be cumbersome, and simplifying the process for inviting and controlling guest users would be beneficial.
  • Slack primarily operates within individual workspaces, making it challenging to collaborate across different workspaces. Enhancing features for inter-workspace communication could improve collaboration for organizations with multiple Slack instances.

  • Direct Communication
  • Creating threads to align with different products
  • Integration with other applications with helps with organization and planning
  • Using Canvas in channels can be improved and highligted.
  • Wish we could add message templates. For example, when creating a bug report, I always have to rewrite the template (or copy it from a notepad)

  • UX - In my opinion, latest updated introduced horrible UX changes - There are currently 3 floating screens when you're in a huddle - In my opinion, this is just a nightmare to navigate and share a screen with a colleague, especially on a laptop screen. Also they moved the huddle button to top right corner which is just less intuitive in my opinion.
  • Channels and conversation threading - Overall a great idea, however I believe it lacks in execution. I've found it's really easy to miss out and hard to find these threads, search works.
  • Sharing screen and sharing content in while in huddle is always cumbersome in my opinion - I less like to share content on the huddle itself as I believe it's difficult to find afterwards and everyone just misses it. I always share on main Slack chat, however it requires addition screen navigation as now there are 3 active Slack sessions which is so confusing and cumbersome in my opinion. I my experience, everyone I've talked with in the organization just didn't understand what's going on there and why it got so messy and over-complicated

  • Communicating through Channels
  • Slack does not show whether the members of the channel or DM have seen the message or not.

  • Private groups specific to a task or sub-set of people.
  • Integrates with other apps like Google calendars etc.
  • Understands that people aren't available all the time and has tools that help people stay offline when they mean to be offline.
  • The requirement to sign back in periodically always happens at a very inconvenient time.
  • Threads can be difficult to follow as notifications could be better about new replies to certain thread.

  • Real time connection with team members within the organization
  • even be used to schedule the messages
  • Platform can be used to integrate other tools such as Trooper and use it to gather information with set reminders
  • Need Simplified way of integration and removals of the third party tools
  • Huddle call should allow on spot addition of members, currently if you have to add a person who is not in group then first you have to create a group and then make the huddle call.
  • Deletion of inactive members should be allowed as currently only deactivation is allowed

  • Encourages collaboration
  • Organizes discussions into customizable channels
  • Provides a robust private messaging tool
  • There could be more app integrations available, and an easier way to connect the apps that are available.
  • A better way to flag messages and come back to them later would be helpful.
  • I'd love an easier way to mute certain types of messages within a channel.

  • I like that it has icons so you can quickly know who's busy (in a meeting) or working from home just by looking at the emoji.
  • It also has a feature to integrate gifs into the workspace which I think adds a fun way to communicate with others!
  • Lastly, its ease of use is great! It's very easy to learn and integrate into our everyday use at the office.
  • I do wish Slack made it easier to see your DM's. They added a feature that moves them around based on who is active, but if you're trying to find a thread with a teammate who isn't active on Slack at that moment, it's a lot harder to find.
  • I also think they could integrate with AI more and have apps for AI.
  • Lastly, it would be awesome if it would tell you when a coworker was last active. It would be nice to keep track of when people are logging off.
