Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard Network Security

WatchGuard Firewalls Firebox -M470,370, T35 are being used as perimeter firewalls throughout the organization. We had to obtain higher throughput firewalls without increasing the budget for this line item. WatchGuard was able to provide competitive pricing. It also provided a mixture of multiple technologies bundled into the firebox enabling depth in defense.

We worked with a partner called SecurePoint, the support was satisfactory; they were mainly a billing partner. For support, we log tickets for WatchGuard technical support and that gets resolved without any hassle.
Preprogramming the firewalls with your required configurations will reduce the downtime during implementation. It may also help to deploy the device in an inline mode to understand the effects of the configured device before replacing existing infrastructure.
The single license model was suitable for us since we needed all these features and [it] was provided at the price we had targeted.
WatchGuard provides better performance when compared to value in comparable devices of these products.

WatchGuard security would be suitable for all sorts of environments. It works well for site to site VPN, application whitelisting, IPS. However, if SD WAN or Numerous SSL VPN clients support is required, other competitive products may be considered.

Using WatchGuard Network Security

400 - End users at offices, end users at branches, end users at remote locations, IT administrators.
3 - IT Administrators with prior experience handling firewalls, must have the basic concepts of access rules, IPS, application whitelisting, URL blocking, etc

The device seems to build for the future and hence is able to manage the software updates without requiring a hardware refresh. This demonstrates the roadmap vision of the technology and hence increases the probability of continuing usage.

Evaluating WatchGuard Network Security and Competitors

Yes - SonicWall NSA and TZ series firewalls were replaced as the throughput from these devices were not matching business needs and the higher spec models were not competitively priced.

Increased throughput. We were being challenged with reduced throughput from our previous firewalls for over a year and had spent quite a lot of effort trying [to] optimize traffic flow without success. However, when we ran a proof of concept with WatchGuard firewalls, we were able to attain the required throughput without any hassle.
We had gone through two complete months [of] proof of concept and testing process which ensured that the product met the business goals; hence I can't think of a better process to attain the same goal.
