If there is an issue we relay on Linode support. Besides that we have Linux competence within our company as well as handle certificates and other configurations needed to keep everything running.

We had been into hosting business for over 15 years, thereby have in-house talents required to manage the nitty gritty of hosting business. Though Linode is very simple, user friendly and easy to use platform, we are equipped technically to manage everything inside the servers created. Having said that, out tech support manage and optimise services like Apache, MySQL and support control panel like cPanel, Plesk and Interworx. We are one of the 10 Certified cPanel Partners in India.

As a solo backend department by myself, I need to have a strong sense of how my various server processed integrate with one another. Having a strong knowledge of Linux server administration is also extremely helpful since a good deal of what I do is on the shell. I've been using docker more in my deployments, and while my deployments aren't so complex that I need Kubernetes, I know it's ready for me when I take the plunge.

Currently it is the systems administrator setting up the VPS and maintaining the operating systems, DNS, etc. The Linode community, support and library are great for when there are questions on how to do things best. But overall what we use at Linode just works and that is so great!

We really only need one server administrator to manage our Linode account. Linode's cloud manager is optimized for server administrators and DevOps developers, and is quite uncomplicated. Although it is quite powerful and allows a reasonable scope of configuration, it requires no additional knowledge beyond basic server administration skills and Linux knowledge.

General knowledge of cloud services is very helpful when it comes to using Linode, especially for things like the object storage. Other services, such as the nameservers and virtual servers, require standard network administration and system administration knowledge. You will want to understand DNS and Linux system administration, in other words.

I am the sole Member of my company and manage my Linode account independently. Linode requires at least some technical knowledge to build and manage a server. They have excellent documentation and automation technology to make it as simple as possible. For example, they have some automations for getting something like a self-hosted Wordpress instance up and running with just a few clicks. However, I took a more DIY approach to building a Linux server, installing my own web server, and other software I wanted to host for my company's operations and web presence.

Linode provides a good web-based UI for managing servers and the various tasks associated with routine management like spinning up and down, talking and restoring backups. Carrying out other sysadmin tasks like software installation and updates are done using shell access. However Linode does provide comprehensive documentation to cover most of the everyday setup and configuration tasks that are likely to crop up.
