The simple answer is no, as the Nintex platform requires extensive knowledge of the IT infrastructure.

Yes, there are power users and subject matter experts who have an aptitude for developing no-code solutions and our department was responsible for offering guidance. We would conduct group training sessions and spend time individually to provide questions and answers to the myriad of business scenarios, once onboarded users gained a solid grasp of the technology.

Yes, today our main "complex" workflows are managed by IT staff, but we have a lot of simple workflows that are managed directly by non-IT staff, and for the first time, even top managers are using it!

It is really easy as pie, and you don't need any programming skills. Please find here some examples of tasks that are managed by non-IT staff:

  • Updating email notification.
  • Update status field based on validation.
  • Simple approval system with lazy approval notification.
  • Copy/archive document to another library.

Yes, the main objective for us is to empower the non-IT power users to leverage the platform features to automate their day to day process. Non-IT users are currently using the Nintex forms and workflows to design their process right on the browser without installing any dedicated tools. It greatly reduced their effort in performing manual approval processes.

It is used by non-IT for our new work intake and approval process. They are using it to input new projects, enter financial forecasting data, and prioritize and visualize through Power BI. Having this ability gives a tool beyond Excel for our users.

Yes. I have trained user to create the letters and use the system within Salesforce. Training could not have been easier and no issues have arisen since implementation.

Yes, as I have mentioned the end-users who generate documents are from Sales teams, Contract Management teams. So it is being used by non-IT staff from that perspective. But from technical maintenance point of view, it is the Salesforce CRM development team that creates or modifies the docgen packages to implement enhancements requested by end-users.

Several employees had to complete the form with several tabs.
When ready the form was stored on SharePoint and the Nintex workflow with approval steps started.
After reviewing the second phase the last approval step started. Used by 6.000 people.
Because the user interface is very user-friendly no end user training was needed.

Yes, users from across departments are currently use Nintex Forms and Workflow. They use Nintex Forms to customise Item Form. They like the look and feel of Nintex Forms. They also create simple Nintex workflows like sending email upon item creation or setting item permission. They also engage IT to create complex Nintex workflows to digitalise their complex work processes.
