Highly used for internal communication and collaboration [among] different team members. [It especially] helps during the covid times when everyone is remotely working and collaborating and communication becomes most important
  • pin messages
  • tagging and notification highlights
  • integration with existing apps
  • sharing of files at group level similar to teams
Helps to tag and notify the entire channel of specific users. Slack has such an easy user interface GUI that it's easy to adopt and use. The collaboration is easy and with quick commands, we can easily invoke the zoom meetings due to its good integration with 3rd party apps. The same is good for auto notifications from outlook meetings due to its integration already done by our team.

We use Slack in conjunction with a third-party service provider. Slack allows us to quickly exchange information or get assistance with an issue. We can reach the whole team or specific resources and the entire team is able to know what is going on without an email storm.
  • Allows us to communicate with a full team or specific members.
  • Allows us to include other team members that may need the same information.
  • We can quickly exchange notes or updates in one platform.
  • I don't have any recommendations for improvement at this time.
I think a great fit for Slack is whenever you have multiple teams of people spread among multiple locations who need a communication platform. Slack is probably not a fit for a small group of people who work in the same location.

Slack is the main communication medium of all the organizations where every employee can contact any support or superior to resolve their issues. we share good information and work techniques with our colleagues and it's working worldwide. it is the best way to contact each other and discuss work-related matters. it is an easy life. the best software around the word.
  • in one moment we can deliver the message to the unlimited employees
  • quick and fast responses
  • very easy to use like web chatting
It is Amazing software and suited to all kinds of businesses where employees interactions are needed. sales and marketing business is incomplete without Slack. it connects each employee to the management and creat bonding. it is safe and secure as all the conversations got recorded for investigation purposes. so no one can misuse it. it is better than a phone call because you can print it as well

Slack is our de facto messaging/postboard for IronNet staff all round and it's the focus point of all internal messaging and tracking of events, work et al. Without logging into Slack, is like not going to work. It is the key to all communications outside of email. Problems are solved in Slack, Questions are raised in Slack, monitoring of other cloud-based apps alerts are in Slack. Slack is indispensable.
  • Messaging - Much better than Teams in terms of UX for chats!
  • DM groups - Easy to create and add members
  • Integration with other apps. This helps so much so much for alerts, notifications!
  • Multi-device usage. A boon for Slacking on desk, on the road and more!
  • Searching can be improved - right now it's ungrouped. Have to do a more detailed search, which will then narrow the results.. Grouping allow look ahead to see if the results are relevant. e.g. by DMs, channels.
  • Notifications dont work in sync at times for mobile and desktop. Also not working in sync when switching over to mobile once away from desktop. Not consistent there.
For direct messaging and the fact it is accessible over so many platforms without much fuss is the best thing about Slack. Huddles are new and a quick way to create a groupchat on the fly for a specific topic. Integration is great for a whole host of cloudapps. So it's another plus there.

The only odd use is Slack call. Unlike Zoom/Meet/Teams, Slack lean towards more of a quick call than arranging a concall with team mates. The mobile call function discovery needs to be more obvious. Don't use it much because it's not so integrated towards Google Calendar. Getting events from Google Calendar works great. Creating a Slack call. Need to find out.

Slack is used primarily for communication within and outside the team. We have almost moved away from emails once we started using Slack. Communication, sharing documents, and collaborating have improved with Slack. Creating bots has been really helpful and a ton of existing bots help in most cases. The new huddle feature is unique and helps talk to all team members at their convenience.

Slack is used by the entire organization. It provides a way to conveniently communicate between team members and integrate with various other software to streamline work.
  • Easily communicate between individuals and teams
  • React to messages with customizable emojis and gifs
  • Integrate with other apps like Google Calendar to provide a single place for notifications
  • Emoji reactions don't result in a notification, so you may not know someone saw/responded to your message
  • There's no indication like Teams has to show that someone has looked at your message
  • Some channels may be informational and not need to be reviewed as new messages come in, but they can't be suppressed from showing in the bold font when new messages come in. This can be distracting from more important channels/conversations.
Slack is well suited for an all-in-one instant communication/notification hub.

Slack is used across the whole organization and its main focus, business-wise, is to keep connected not only all the teams by a formal and simple chat, but also to help us communicate with external providers/stakeholders via its integrations and multi workspace capabilities. Another business problem that it addresses is keeping track of everything and it does it by allowing to integrate with third-party platforms such as g-suite, InVision, Lucidchart among others, and centralizing every update/alarm from those sites, giving the chance to keep track of everything really easily
  • Connect with third party apps/sites such as InVision,g-suite, lucid chart among others
  • give the possibility to communicate within the organization safely
  • managing updates and alarms from third party providers
  • communicate with external stakeholders while keeping a secure channel
  • improve notifications on Android, sometimes it just doesn't happen
  • allow to share screen on mobile devices
  • Include a feature to send message as an schedule email
The way it allows users to keep track of everything and it does it by allowing them to integrate with third-party platforms such as g-suite, InVision, lucid chart among others, and centralizing every update/alarm from those sites, giving the chance to keep track of everything really easily. that is one of its greatest strengths. another one is the multiple offers of communication channels such as chat, call, video call and all of them in a secure and really easy way of use

Used throughout the organization. Provides communication, more important than email. It allows for quick communication and instant notifications. Thanks to Slack, communication is arranged inappropriate channels and significantly reduces the number of e-mails.
  • Quick contact and notifications
  • Integrations with other platforms (monday.com, zapier, etc.)
  • Mobile app is really good and fast
  • Group calling (and video)
  • Calendar integration
  • Easy way to share large files
Great for communication to internal groups within the organization. Each project can have its own channel so the work is organized. Good and efficient search. Great for small and large organizations.

Slack is used in our whole organization to manage tasks and communicate with employees and employees can communicate with one another using this platform. It's a great idea to keep your chats saved for the future and you can also share your document over this platform and it's providing free space for data usage and sharing and for huge storage services you can buy a subscription as well. There you can build one on chat and you can create #threads with multiple employees.
  • One on one communication
  • #thread building
  • Group communication
  • Mention specific person
  • send message to all using same slack
  • Specific storage
  • storage is for both chat and document with free subscription
  • Buy subscription to get more storage and features
Slack is a complete communication platform over users can communicate among themselves as well create groups on their individual accounts.

Slack is a great communication tool to keep in touch with coworkers. We're a remote company (pre-covid) and switched from Skype to Slack about two years ago. I love being able to categorize messages by channel, and pinning documents to channels makes them easily accessible. Searching for messages is also very easy (i.e. you get what you're looking for). Slack makes communication within the company much clearer and easily accessible to everyone.
  • Company wide updates
  • Team communication
  • Search function is robust
  • I don't know if this is on Slack or my company's responsibility, but people don't always stick to threads which makes following a conversation more difficult. Maybe through AI Slack could offer a comment/reminder saying something like, "would you like this to be in a thread?" Y/N and then add it to a thread accordingly.
Slack is useful in businesses that have 40+ employees. I think below that number email/groups could suffice. However, in order to have better communication within teams and individuals and general company-wide policies and updates, Slack is a fantastic way to stay in touch with coworkers, especially when the company has multiple locations or a remote, distributed workforce.

Slack has been implemented throughout the organization to facilitate communication and team collaboration across all departments. Collaboration is made much easier and more efficient by its integration with third-party apps such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Google Drive. It also improves communication with Clients using features such as Slack Connect for faster communication.
  • The user interface - Slack has one of the best user interfaces I've seen on a messaging app. It's small, lightweight, and well-organized.
  • Integration with Other Apps - Slack allows you to integrate with other apps like Google Calendar, Drive, and Zoom. I never have to miss a meeting now :-)
  • Slack has a mobile application that works just as well as the desktop version.
  • File sharing - With Slack, file sharing and attachments have never been easier.
  • Huddle - That's right, it has a calling feature built right into the app ( for both audio and video )
  • Notification system - It has a well-designed notification system. Never overlook a message or a mention. You can also choose what kind of notification you want to receive. You can even use DND mode to disable notifications.
  • You can create drafts to send out later.
  • Slack can be RAM and battery hungry, and it can slow down when used heavily.
  • The audio and video call capabilities could be improved to provide greater clarity.
  • It's quite expensive. Old messages are deleted after a certain period of time in the free versions.
Slack is suitable for both large and small-scale communications. It significantly reduces the number of emails sent by utilizing useful channels such as Announcements. The only disadvantage of Slack is a large number of notifications, which can be overwhelming at times. A good example of how slack can be useful is when you need to get into a quick meeting with someone. Rather than having to go through the hassle of scheduling a meeting, you can start an audio call (huddle) right from the conversation.

Will Bank uses Slack across the whole organization. We use it a lot, on daily basis not only to chat with colleagues but mainly to get informed through all the departments' channels that are available for us to enter. It makes it super easy to work remotely as it's possible to share everything with your team in a very organized way.
  • Channels are easy to access and follow the posts
  • Great apps to install and centralize your activities
  • With the tool "circle" it's possible to simulate the face to face interactions of the office
  • Sometimes the program just frozen, probably when it is overloaded but it is annoying
  • Once in a while, it automatically disconnects from the google calendar app, without any action from the user.
Slack is well suited in the daily interactions for a remote team. It's easy to use, really intuitive and you can use almost all your other tools directly on Slack because they have many apps like google calendar, drive, Jira, confluence, Figma, etc. A less appropriate use would be to organize all your tasks or information in the channels because it will probably get lost after some weeks as it is a feed format.

We are a company based in Australia and Indonesia. We use Slack as the main communication tool for the Indonesia team. We created many channels to support task management, team management, and even non-working topics such as hobbies. We created some automation to make things faster and more efficient. We were using Skype but Slack offers us a threaded chat, which is good to keep the chat focus. Slack looks more flexible and fun because it has a better reaction, reminders, and bots. Although it might sound less professional for seniors, we have a lot of young guys and we feel happier using this software with all the benefits it has.
  • Threads
  • Reminders
  • Bots
  • Advanced shortcuts
  • Automation
  • Customized reactions
  • The left panel looks too crowded; I think the starred channel should be the first one
  • Ability to send short audio messages without a third-party app; built features should be faster considering that Slack has phone/call feature
  • Search results are sometimes confusing; too much information, perhaps Slack team can improve the UI
If you have many team members who love to work productively in a fun way, Slack is a good chat tool. It allows you to create multiple channels for any purpose. You can create a serious channel and a "chit-chat" channel. It has a reaction for a quick confirmation, it has a thread function for replying to each sentence, and it has a call option like other chat software. If you find things are missing from Slack, you can visit their third-party apps. You can also build your own automation using their bots as well. I really recommend Slack if your team works remotely often.

All of us are remote. This was a helpful tool to work across departments and maintain some camaraderie with my peers. I would have never thought our company would run so smoothly with zero face-to-face interaction but Slack was critical to staying connected and efficient. There are also additional plugs with the Google platform and Electric which is our IT solutions partner.
  • Collaboration
  • Call features
  • App integration
  • No issues
Great tool to collaborate between departments. There are also plenty of app integrations. The ones we use often are Spoke (tickets), Google (calendar), Electric (IT solutions), and Salesforce.

I have not had any issues with the platform or the apps. The only competitor platform I’ve used was Microsoft Teams and I prefer Slack.

Slack is used by our whole organization, it is basically our virtual office, where channels act as departments. It addresses the problem of being organized in a company's chat application.
  • Separating channels.
  • Other app integrations.
  • Notification customization.
  • Support for custom bots.
  • Edit text timings.
  • Network usage.
Slack is well suited for enterprises and least suited for communities.

Efficiency of any organization is much dependent on the amount and quality of the communication between its members. This applies especially now in COVID-19 times. We are using Slack as the minute-to-minute tool on keeping our team members in touch, in sync and living the same pulse. Slack is being used by most parts of our organization, but some parts are still resisting and willing to stay in the old solutions, including mass amounts of emails.
  • User interface options (web, mobile, application on PC) and overall look and feel with the color schemes are great
  • 2FA with Google Authenticator is reliable and works flawlessy
  • During screenshares, possibility to highlight items (or draw) in real time is awesome
  • Video conferencing could be better for quality, audio-video synchronization
  • Slack could do a better job implementing security in the product in ways that would make it acceptable by enterprise ITs more easily
  • Slackbot is sometimes highlighting users annoyingly
I don't know a better remote collaboration platform, and I've tried many. Slack works perfect for giving the feeling that you and your co-workers or teammates are in the same time and space, unlike some de facto office applications in my opinion. This for example is shown in how much better the response times are on Slack with our team than any other application. The main problem is that for some users, starting to use Slack seems to be too challenging and difficult.

Our organization is hybrid, with both teams that work onsite and teams that work remotely. Our entire company utilizes Slack for real time communication. Several of us also have Slack tied into our Google calendars which we then use to set up meetings on days/times that are convenient for everyone.
  • Easy to use
  • Easy to create private channels
  • Easy to delete users
  • Great for emojis!
  • It can be difficult to catch up on messages when you're out
Slack is very well suited for quick communication. I would still utilize email for more detailed information or for any kind of information that you want people to be held accountable for knowing and understanding. I especially like the fact that it integrates with Google Calendar for ease of scheduling meetings with multiple people.

Slack is used accross my whole company and basically is where we comunicate everything we need. The day-to-day communication is all centralized on Slack, not only direct conversations between team member but also conversations of specific departments and announcements relevante to the whole company, even when they are also sent via email.
  • Quick messaging
  • Clear visualization of priorities
  • Tools to organize conversations
  • Hiding not so relevant channels
  • Make more clear the way threads work
  • Improve integrations with third-party platforms
Slack is a great choice for any organization that is looking for a messaging solution that is realiable, organized and well designed. Probably it is a best fit for companies with larger teams, say more than 10 employees, but smaller teams could also benefit from using it as it makes easy to search for old messages and keep important information easily accessible.

Slack sometimes feels like the foundation of our business. It's how we do probably 30-50% of all the communication within our company. We use it for quick communication, file sharing, updates, bug reports, and countless of integrations with all of the other softwares we use to run our business. If slack was gone tomorrow we'd be in serious trouble.
  • 1:1 communication
  • Group communication
  • Backlog of important information
  • Search functionality can always be improved (although its already so much better)
  • It's too much work to leave a channel with the new update. Way too many clicks
  • Warn me before I join or leave a channel if there will be a notice posted
Slack is helpful for any business from size 1 to at least 100,000. It's a terrific way to communicate with coworkers in a way that is not as serious or cumbersome as email. There are very few business cases I can think about where it would NOT make sense to have slack. If your business is not on slack you should get on it, I'm confident it's better than any alternative.

Communication is the key to the success of any project/product. We are using Slack throughout the organization to overcome the communication gap between different departments and to collaborate on different projects. We are using different integrations to facilitate our deployment of the codebase and to get the notifications of upcoming meetings, etc.
  • Create the public/private channels
  • Add reminders about different tasks
  • Integrations of different bots
  • Sometimes file sharing takes a lot of time to upload
  • Video stream looks slow to me
To collaborate on projects when different teams are working from different locations is very easy with Slack. It's the sender's call to either notify the recipient at night time or just message the recipient, and (s)he will be notified within the time range the user has provided in settings.

Slack was used worldwide by our small but growing team. We had users in China, Europe, India, the UK, the US, and South America using Slack for our daily stand-up (agile) meetings, file coordination and sharing, and messaging. We also invited vendors for products and services we were considering to join Slack as guest users to have interactive sales presentations too. We also kept all investors up to date with Slack meetings.
  • Threading on messages
  • Integration with other apps
  • File sharing and search
  • Better video support (was often glitchy, unlike Zoom)
  • Better rule for enterprise version, where no private conversations are actually private
  • Too easy to create many private rooms and have to search for which one was active
Slack is great for any company of any size that needs to collaborate. When building products, discussions around usability, user input, investor expectations, change requests, integrations with other applications, and the ability to keep a light communication footprint that's far less formal than email or file sharing etc.

It could be better about versioning--we defaulted back to SharePoint/OneDrive for that and in a couple of instances found that employees were working off an older file and that caused confusion. Especially with remote workers of any company, Slack is an awesome comms tool.

Slack is a great platform to expand communication and interaction with the different workgroups and labor sectors that currently exist in my company. We are a company in the real estate sector and for us, Slack has meant a lot, since it has been a platform that has helped us to interact, share ideas, generate solutions, work as a team, and above all, be able to have a better planning of all work activities. The communication that Slack offers us is incomparable, it is a very stable platform that offers us very complete communication channels, where we can send images, documents, and files of any size. I am very grateful for the potential that Slack has provided since it was implemented in my company, it has proven to be a very powerful software capable of helping us to interact without having to carry out a complex process, in addition, its system is completely accessible, it gives me the possibility to interact from my mobile device.
  • The communication channels have an excellent notification system. Notifications in Slack are one of the things that make it a very beneficial software, because I can be attentive to any movement of the chat channels, also, I can know when I am being mentioned in any of the channels.
  • The transfer of images is completely effective, it does not diminish the quality of the images that are transferred through the chat channels.
  • The application for mobile devices is very complete, I have general access to all the chats that exist within my company, in addition, I also have the ability to reply to messages from this application.
  • The communication channels can be accessed by any employee of any sector, this facilitates the communication of the various sectors and achieves that all sectors can share information between them.
  • The main problem we have had with using Slack is in relation to its word search system. This platform offers us a search system since on many occasions, some messages are lost during long conversations, however, this search system is not as effective since it only shows the most recent words of the search and does not show all of the results. It is important to note that a deeper and more exact search would help us find messages faster.
Slack is the appropriate software for small, medium, or large companies, this software is capable of adapting to any work area and allows all sectors to maintain wide communication that helps them have a better sharing of information and data of great importance. Its chat channels are very stable, it has a perfect interface that is very easy to use and quite comfortable. The chat channels are very complete, allowing you to transfer all kinds of files and share any image with the members of the chat channels. It does not matter if Slack is in the project sector, or in the Sales sector, it will also bring remarkable results in performance, planning, and work communication.

Slack is used for inter-departmental communication. We have channels for teams, projects, initiatives, and more. We can find every employee in the company on the app and most use it on a daily basis. We're a remote company (most of us) and it really helps facilitate communication as if we were all in the same office.
  • It expedites internal customer service among busy departments, aiding us to give our candidates the best experience.
  • The channel feature is awesome because we have so many little projects and to have a channel where you can communicate solely with the necessary parties is just great.
  • I like the variety of emoticons as well because they can be so expressive where words might be too strong.
  • There are a lot of applications that work in tandem with Slack and I've found them a little hard to maneuver. I wish they were easier to use or there was a little more guidance.
  • The status feature is almost lost amongst everything else that goes on in Slack. There are times when you are really busy and won't be able to respond immediately or times when you are on a trip, etc. Having the desktop and mobile features active sometimes confuse the audience and I wish it was easier or if there was a more dynamic status function and maybe there is and I've just yet to discover it.
  • I had an issue recently where I couldn't change the name of a channel, but I had to delete it and create a new one. Too much work.
Well suited
  • It's great to make up for the in-person communication if you work remotely.
  • It's perfect when we have specific groups that don't require the whole team.
  • It's also perfect for managing interdepartmental communication between busy departments.

Less Appropriate
  • I've also used Slack in non-business settings for a professional group and found it wasn't as useful.
