Overall Satisfaction with Procore

Nothing is more important to establishing a great product than implementing the product. Even the best app in the world is challenged by correct and robust implementation. I recommend establishing a team of preople with differing gifts and Departments to head up the implementation for your company.
There are many tools that cover a wide swath of company functions. It’s not easy getting complete usability from all departments.
We use Procore everyday with a high level of satisfaction. Our current processes have changed from old, tired processes that relied one single individuals and information stored in people's heads. Collaboration and information is the name of the game. We use the product in all departments, across the company, utilizing all the areas from bidding to cost management.
  • Submittals are streamlined and availability is huge.
  • RFI process and workflow.
  • Daily logs and job site information.
  • Documents, plans, and specs.
  • Cost management with a stronger link to accounting.
  • Billings.
  • Change management still needs work.
Being able to work together from field to office and GC to subs has greatly enhanced quality control.
  • Process improvements are hard to measure but it has allowed for greater information and accountability in all departments.
  • Sage
We used to use Timberline but struggled to get information to the field and especially in remote areas with little or no connection.
Works great for public works projects that are document heavy.

We are having difficulty getting buy in from financial dept and double entry costs because we have had issues linking to sage.

Evaluating Procore and Competitors

Yes - Sage Timberline PJ module. Although we liked Sage it was not collaborative.
  • Product Usability
We had to get collaborative information to and from the field.
There are always other ways to skin a cat. I would like to say I would change evaluation criteria by examining the current knowns against the unknowns.

Procore Implementation

Change management was a big part of the implementation and was well-handled - Everyone needs to get on board with process changes or this won’t work well
  • Implementation control
  • Dept buy in
  • Financial information issues
