Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

depending on the type of business and type of user, Keap can be very easy - if you really want to get full use of the whole product then their can be a learning curve with the advanced features - worth it

I know there is a lot more than I have yet to use completely. It gets a 9 because I haven't attempted to really delve into the full scope of the automation. The simple automation has helped me tremendously already so for my needs as a serious solopreneur, it does the job!

Most of it is easy to use but complex to set up. I wasn't involved with the implementation process at my company, but it clearly wasn't done well. I don't know if it was the company or the Keap team, but as a result, we can't use a lot of the functions I wish we could.

Overall, I'd give Keap (formerly Infusionsoft) a five. It has a pretty large learning curve and it's not designed to be user friendly. The interface looks pretty outdated and the features could use some improvement as well.

You do need to spend some time on-boarding and implementing the software in order to have full functionality. We were lucky - we had colleagues at the university with experience with Keap and then hired an intern familiar with the software to get us set up and ready to use it. We've had some functionality issues with it along the way and that has frustrated myself and the other uses in our department.

I go back to the idea that it's not a tool for solo-entrepreneurs, it's a tool for larger companies or at lease those with enough annual revenue that they can pay a marketing team member to handle the email automations. This software is old and clunky, it has not kept up with it's competitors in terms of usability and visual intuitive design, so it has a steep learning curve and takes a while to learn how to use. You have to be able to pay someone for their time to learn it well. Other software is much more streamlined in terms of ease of use, ability to just intuitively know how to set up an email campaign and add the applicable triggers and tags.

There are some definitely flaws, especially if you'd like a more detailed and/or comprehensive email design. However, it's great for simple and long term email campaigns and the e-commerce platform was a lifesaver. It's not as very easy to learn how to use, so it makes it hard for our whole team to be able to use the tool. But the details in the CRM system are fantastic; you can get creative and in-depth with how you tag contacts.

It is easier to use (and implement) than when we first signed on four years ago; however, there is still a learning curve, particularly for those who are inexperienced with database marketing.

Don't buy into it expecting someone to hold your hand, but they will guide and support you to where you need to go.

I personally have no problem using the software, because I've used it (or versions of it) since 2007. So I know it pretty well inside and out. But I recognize a newcomer may struggle with it in the beginning. But they've made large strides in onboarding new users and getting new companies set up with walkthrough tutorials and wizards.

We really tried to love Infusionsoft... we even were given a much reduced rate after we tried to cancel... $150 vs $500!) But even that didn't keep our attention. We moved on to Salesforce and look forward to real sales in our B2B atmosphere and will add Pardot later on even though it is 2x the price... it is worth it!

Buyer beware. Be prepared to invest many hours if you plan to manage this application yourself. This is true of any automation solution. Can you take classes and go to University again and become a great marketing automation expert yourself? Yes, probably. But should you be investing your highest and most productive use of time building out Infusionsoft. Not likely.

Which means you need to plan on finding someone you can trust and that is the plain truth. There are many qualified consultants who have sufficient sales, marketing, business, content, life and Infusionsoft experience to help you get results. But far too many people decry this as an all in one solution that is easy to use. This will never be the case even though the product development team is constantly working to make it a better product and easier to use.

We don't make our own paper clips for a reason. We outsource all the time. We have to make really informed decisions on the solutions we use and then commit to learning best practices for marketing regardless of the platform.

Do not expect to pay someone less than $150-$250 per hour to really make this application sing. Or pay them for training or internal services and then kick yourself.
