Primarily integrated into a quick review of emails by the creative team in SFMC integration. Use it to test one-off designs. Use it for high-level analytics when troubleshooting performance or inbox placement.
  • When there is organizational bandwidth, does give a comprehensive view of real-time inbox visuals. Issue is the organization only proofs within their eco-system. :/ 2) Quick way to adjust and correct code on the fly and to see real-time results. 3) Easy to insert analytics code into emails according to ESPs.
  • Not really Litmus' issue, however adoption is a problem. That's more of an organizational issue, I imagine. However, Creative doesn't like using it. They're not coders and they resist additional steps. 2) Analytics reporting -- 3) Really want to be able to have an accureate report on opens and clicks with all proof of delivery/bot activity removed. No platform seems to be able to deliver this accurately. Not just a Litmus issue.
Touched on this above -- whenever I, as an experienced coder, need to make edits to Creative's designs or uses, I can do so quickly and see the real time impact. That really is where Litmus shines. However, we don't use net-new designs every time. And, getting approval for expenditure in the future will be a tough sell due to enterprise cost ($26k).

Amending existing html templates
  • Nice layout easy proof/comments/sharing feature easy code editing
  • No auto-save - always forget to press save after every edit bugs if open in more than one tab - shows an old version (very confusing) subject line and pre-header aren't correct in proof mode
Great for editing existing templates - can't speak to building from scratch inside of Litmus. Version control would be a great add.

Our ESP doesn't have anyway to account for the inflated opens from ISP privacy policies such as Apple MPP. We use Litmus to help adjust those impacted engagement rates to get a more accurate picture of engagement. The rendering features help make sure that the email renders appropriately no matter what ISP the end user is using.
  • Email renderings - reliable and accurate renderings that are customizable to the platforms your subscribers use most. 2. Adjusted open tracking - Gives a better idea of how many real opens your email(s) have. 3. Proofing - Allowing feedback tracking and comments in one place, completely organized.
  • Put proofing back into all subscription levels of Litmus. Many email teams are small enough already and taking this out for lower level subscriptions just puts more burden and handicaps back on those small teams. Super disappointing when this happened. 2. Name analytics tracking name the same as the email name or at least provide the option to link. It seems like a small thing but when you have to copy and past the name of the email into the name of the analytics for the same email, it's redundant and the time adds up. 3. Email builder is clunky and hard to use for teams who don't have coders employed. This is a huge miss to help teams be more agile and find more value in the platform.
I think pretty much every email team or marketing team that sends email can benefit from Litmus - regardless of size. The only thing it doesn't do it deliverability insights though it does have a spam analyzer. It's not that sophisticated however. If you're a data-driven team, you can even configure to export even more subscriber insights.

We use Litmus mainly to test new emails for marketing campaigns. Main issues we adress is the reputation and the correct rendering of the email in various ESPs and devices.
  • Great variety of ESPs and their versions to render emails Strong preview and QA feature which allows to quickly identify bigger issues Up to date content and plenty of tutorials with everything email Best in class
  • Expensive for the number of previews it includes UI can be confusing Limited templates
ESPs previews is definitely its strongest spot whilst email coding probably its weakest

I used Litmus at my previous company and was excited to use it again. We added Litmus to help address email email layout and design as well as deliverability issues and troubleshooting breaks in code. Litmus helps our email marketing team design, review, test, and analyze emails much more quickly than we were before.
  • The Litmus email preview tool Litmus is crucial as it quickly lets us find out how emails look across all the popular email clients. It's helped us address issues with light and dark mode, as well as spotting broken links and email design flaws.
  • Litmus analytics has given us an additional layer of data to assess how our emails are performing. Insights into engagement like whether emails are being read or skimmed and what devices clients use to open our emails, isn't provided by our email automation provider.
  • The Litmus integration lets us see how emails will look across desktop and mobile email clients without leaving our email automation tool.
  • I'd like to see the analytics tool made more robust and easier to use.
  • Litmus should put out more how-to video content. The newsletter is great and offers tons of helpful tips and tricks, but videos are helpful when needing to follow step-by-step instructions.
Litmus is great for streamlining marketing email builds. Before we were using a number of different resources to code and test emails, now with Litmus preview and design features, we can do everything in one place. This significantly cuts down on the time it takes to get emails out the door.

We use Litmus as a testing tool to make sure an email is rendering across all platforms correctly as well as part of our QA process using the Proof feature which allows our editorial team to view and suggest edits. I am also an avid reader of the Litmus newsletter and they are the first place I check when I need advice on all things email. Previously, at another company we used Litmus as a repository as well as a way to build emails with their builder tool.
  • One-stop review
  • Providing helpful and interesting content
  • Design Library
  • WYSIWYG feature
Currently we are using it as a proofing tool where our editorial team can view the email and make comments directly in it. This is helpful because review can happen in one place and we as the builders can also view the different platforms to make sure it is rendering correctly. I would like to be using Litmus more at my current company there are a lot of features I am excited to try like personalize, which I think will be a perfect way to gain insight from our audience based on polls. I would also like to use the Email guardian since we have a lot of lifecycle emails that i think can often be forgotten about. Currently the design and build feature is not utilized for my organization since we are moving over to an ESP with a WYSIWYG editor.

My company uses Litmus primarily for rendering testing and QA to ensure we deliver emails that display well and are accessible to all of our customers. In addition to the email client previews, we rely heavily on the accessibility testing, image blocking features, link checking, alt tag preview and loading speed tests.

As a developer, I find the real time builder previews and email version control invaluable.
  • Rendering tests
  • Accessibility testing
  • Version tracking
  • How-to articles
  • Email developer community
  • Retain previous renders rather than charging each time I want to load the same code to view it again
  • Provide code from "how-to" developer sessions at Litmus Live. For example, Progress Bar That Tracks
Litmus simply can't be beat for email rendering testing and QA. The robust arsenal of tools offered is invaluable for creating content that displays well and is accessible for all of our customers, and it only continues to get better. The new accessibility testing features such as color blindness previews and the screen reader option have saved us countess hours and have been instrumental in our updating our emails to reach impaired customers.

Within our CRM Team, we use Litmus on a daily basis to check how our emails will look on several email clients.<br>It is a must-have for our team as we want to ensure our @ base receives the best-looking and functioning emails, without any broken images or design.<br>It allows us to check for the most used email clients but also for more tricky or rarer devices.<br>I would recommend litmus to any CRM Team that want to be better at their job!
  • Easy to use
  • Exhaustive email client list
  • Great recommendations
  • Really good and practical article about HTML email
  • Remove preview limits!
  • Do more bootcamp
  • Make review group for several email client
Litmus is a very useful day-to-day tool for any CRM team wishing to ensure that its email is rendered on the different email clients and devices used by its customers. If you use a CRM tool such as Salesforce or Hubspot to send your emails, Litmus becomes a little less useful, since your CRM will already take care of everything for you.

The main problem that Litmus addresses is cutting down significantly on QA time for all our Email Content.
  • Litmus provides a full remit of email service providers to show you exactly how your email is going to render on all of them, across mobile, desktop and web applications. Litmus also provides an area to build and test your own code and assess the feasibility of it should you wish to build your emails from scratch. Litmus also provides you with an easy to set-up tracking pixel to analyse your emails to see how your subscribers are reading your email, as well as assessing things like dark vs light mode comparison of your subscribers.
  • Litmus could do a better job at onboarding users to their platform. I feel a lot of the features are unusable to me as a first-time user. I feel I would probably use a lot of the features if I was onboarded on how to use them. I also feel that Litmus expects users to be coding emails from scratch, whereas a lot of the time companies use Engineering Team or IT Personnel to code emails on behalf of email designers/email marketers/marketers in general and as a result I feel we should be provided with places to upskill, or provided some forum to troubleshoot your way through.
I think QA-ing big campaigns like Cyber Weekend is probably the best example that most businesses can relate to. Sending a multitude of Emails over a short period ‚ Litmus is able to assist in the QA of all of them, ensuring that all links work correctly, they are rendered correctly, and you are not hitting spam folders.

We use Litmus mostly for the email previews. We send a lot of emails and it's critical to us that they render as we intended.
  • Litmus does a great job at very quick email previews of many combinations of ESPs 2. Litmus is great at helping us gain insight into the email devices that our users open the emails with 3. Litmus helped us use their premade templates to create our own and break them into modules.
  • Litmus could offer cheaper plans for folks who just want to render test. 2. Litmus could offer more hands-on practical coding advice with Litmus Live 3. Litmus template are is a little clunky in how it saves.
Since we just launched our email programs this past year, Litmus helped us from the beginning to make sure our emails look good as we design our module library.

Our marketing team uses Litmus to test html email rendering, make code adjustments, and optimize how are emails are coded, to be responsive and render across different devices and service providers. I have used the testing and building functions to test how emails are working, as well as the collaboration function to share feedback with other coders and designers. Our team uses the service across a number of our regular email campaigns prior to a campaign launch. We find it very reliable and works very well and quickly prior to our live campaigns sending out.
  • It allows you to see email previews and rendering across devices on one screen
  • It easily integrates with email automations tools that we use, which makes the email testing process run smoother and quicker
  • It provides a good amount of detail when any technical issues arise in html codes and provides recommendations for fixes
  • The folder structure and being able to locate email tests that I've worked on before can be a tedious process
  • Being able to customize what devices you would like to preview an email off of for each individual test can be time consuming
  • Some of the analytics tools available like Avg. Open Rate can not always be reflecting accurately depending on the UI set up
Litmus works great for large or smaller marketing and design teams to test, code, review and deliver HTML email content. It is a great tool to accompany a current marketing tech stack. It works well for any type of business to business or business to consumer email marketing message. The tool integrates very well and seamlessly with several other email automation tools.

Currently we use Litmus to check how our emails are displayed on different devices. We also use it with specific campaigns where we have HTML emails and we need to create several versions. Last, we use it to QA emails in different locales. We create previews so our stakeholders can preview and comment the emails.
  • Litmus is solid in terms of email in general. Their tools make it very easy to design and preview emails. I find beneficial the possibility to share and comment on the emails with the stakeholders as this speeds up our processes.

Litmus addresses the quirkiness of email coding. As a developer, I am able to make certain designs work in code and test them through Litmus to ensure the end product is great for the final user.
  • -Email preview testing (I wouldn't feel comfortable without being able to test my emails in one spot in multiple email clients)
  • -Excited to try out the new personalization options as well as countdown timers (I'm really looking forward to these new features. They seem very intuitive and simple to implement into our current emails)
  • -Tracking data from specific emails (The information Litmus has provided as far as dark mode and email client usage is really going to help focus our marketing efforts in a specific direction to reach the greatest number of users.)
  • -Litmus Live is fantastic!
  • -The builder function is great as it allows me to test new lines of code in real-time, but there seem to be a few bugs with The builder. When my team has used it in The past, we have become more frustrated with it.
  • -I wonder if it would be possible to adjust The tracking to be specific but also general. At this point, I have had to create individual tracking codes per each individual Email I want to send. When we are sending out a large number each week, this can be cumbersome. So, I wonder if there would be a way to have a generic tracking code that could go in each Email but be specific once we upload The file into Litmus.
  • -On tracking, can we get averages for a group of emails instead of just all the emails?
Litmus is great at testing emails in different clients, tracking opens, clicks, and dark mode usage, and helping us make changes to our emails from the builder. It would be nice to be able to see .gifs or timers work in the email previews.

We use litmus to QA an email visually across multiple email clients. We also use the litmus builder to collaborate on emails.
  • QA across multiple email clients.
  • Send proofs to gather comments.
  • Accept emails sent to it.
  • The visual builder is glitchy and doesnt save changes sometimes.
  • The code editor has low contrast and is uncomfortable to code in
  • The control+f sucks and half of the time the result is underneath the control+f overlay
Well suited in a corporate account where you can get as many previews as you want. Not well suited for individuals.

I use Litmus to QA any of my messaging going out to my user segments. It is a great tool to get varying perspectives on what my campaigns look like in different browsers or even to those with color-blindness. The link preview tool is an easy way to make sure your content is sending to the right place; or if it lets you know a link is broken. Litmus makes it very simple to get one last check on any outgoing messaging I have.
  • Message previews
  • Accessibility ratings
  • Recommendations
  • Sharing a public preview isn't intuitive
  • UI is complex
  • Link checks aren't always accurate
Litmus is perfect for any team that needs a second set of virtual eyes through Litmus's email QA features. It's what I use for my final check before a campaign is made live. It allows me to make sure no links are obviously broken, accessibility standards are met, Spam requirements are met and much more.

We find the Collaboration and Analyze tools the most helpful. Before Litmus, we would have to copy/paste our emails in a Word document to circulate across internal departments. The Collaboration feature in Litmus helps us streamline the email review process and has improved workflow. The Analytics feature helps us understand how long people are reading, glancing, or skimming our emails. With iOS privacy update, we don't look at Open Rates anymore. The Analytics feature in Litmus helps us understand if people are finding our content helpful.
  • UX
  • Innovation
  • Expand the reporting features
  • If something isn't rendering correctly in one of the ESPs, recommending a solution to what needs to be fixed.
Litmus is helpful to see how an email renders differently on various ESPs, collaborating with other departments, and using the analytics feature. We don't use the Build feature as we use Marketing Cloud/Dreamweaver to build our emails, so we don't find that functionality helpful.
