What is Adobe Workfront?

Workfront is a web-based project-management tool acquired and now supported by Adobe since late 2020. It was designed for both IT and marketing teams, but can be implemented for any kind of project. Workfront offers all the features standard to project management platforms. Editing and updating issues from the project view is styled to work somewhat similarly to a social networking site, bringing team members together in one central location. From the project view screen, issues, documents, and other elements of the project are placed along a tab bar so that they may be addressed with one click directly from the hub.

The platform's Capacity Planner allows a manager to move resources to where they are needed, and has some automation features (e.g. the Set Best Fit option, which attempts to allocate resources optimally within given constraints). Agile project management is supported with features like Gantt charts, an easily viewable and manipulable backlog, and storyboarding. Team members can be managed with the aid of quantitative metrics that show where work would be best allocated.

A free trial is available, after which Workfront comes in four pricing options. The lowest tier is Collaboration for small groups, followed by Work which adds mobile accessibility and time sheets, then Plan which adds additional analytic, planning, and reporting features. Finally, Enterprise Plus offers the highest configurability as well as support and data security.

AtTask is a powerful tool. that makes a lot of sense in any Agile environment. It is loaded with a ton of features. By using technology it can help achieve the same purpose as meetings while spending less time talking and more time getting things done.

It does everything we want it to do and it does it well. We were able to have visibility into upcoming projects and plan appropriately. This allowed us to finish projects as quickly as possible, which meant we had happy customers, we got paid faster and often resulted in recurring business.

Unfortunately, I am yet to find a better alternative, but once found I would definitely switch. Once we are stuck with AtTask it becomes difficult to leave, because we need to convince everyone at our company, and concern ourselves with implementation.

We've mapped our information technology path, and have created our processes to support the usage of AtTask; that time invested is equivalent to money. We don't like spending money foolishly, and feel this program will grow into exactly what we need in a short amount of time. The cost is a bit more than we expected, but we would have spent triple that amount had we lost sight of projects, and status.

With the company's commitment to the tool and ensuring that it, ultimately, is used company-wide will ensure that the tool continues to be used. Which leads to the tool being renewed. With the amount of support behind it from both sides of the fence, the success of the tool will only increase. Committing to the tool was the first step in that process to ensure the change would be successful.

At this point, I don't see another tool that would meet our needs as well. Also, it would require extensive work to start from scratch in another product and to export our data and processes to it.

Most companies have their PM's using MS Project in silos. It's often used at the beginning of projects to help establish PMLC and SDLC Phase milestone dates but can quickly become cumbersome to update as the project starts moving. The collaboration capabilities give the ability of key stakeholders or team members to provide input in an online, Facebook or Salesforce-like manner. But the PM still has ultimate control over the plan. Status'ing and executive reporting becomes very easy and real-time.

Once people learn how to use AtTask they like it. The constant improvements and additions to the system make it continually useful. As do the provided integrations with various cloud services.

They have the best fixed price for any organization that needs there software and there customer service is excellent . They provide a more organized way to support your projects and keeps you ontime when each task is complete and shows if your are off course and able to assign dates to specific tasks to be completed.

I would give it a higher rating, but one of my problems is that our licensing restricts us from being able to use it for all the users within our organization. This is a frustration. As a PM, this tool is only as valuable as it's applicability to being able to be used across the board by all resources. Luckily, the emailing option that adds a comment in AtTask even for users that aren't licensed, is a great improvement, but I would like to see our company more globally commit to it.

Unfortunately, I am not the decision maker of my new company. AtTask was purchased by my last office and was mandatory to use network wide. We do not have anything in place at my new role.

My company has several business management applications that do not integrate directly. AtTask's API has allowed us to bridge the gap between these applications, and given control over to the users.

There is still room for improvements, specifically with ensuring that certain functionalities that are very useful to the team do not "break" per-say when software updates occur. This can be very frustrating for team members and makes it tricky to keep morale high about the product, which is necessary to have all of our employees at our company be excited about using the tool. In addition, there could be simple functionality improvements pushed forward, that may be more useful to improving efficiency that could be implemented, prior to making the tool appear more "fun". This particularly comes to mind when I think of the "Like" feature that was offered, prior to making sure that updates to the document tab (such as downloading more than one document at a time) that could really enhance operational efficiency are addressed. However, I still give it a high rating because it is a very useful and customizable tool.

AtTask provides us with the best mix of Usability, Functionality, and Customizability in a work management solution. Although there are some opportunities for improvement in each of those areas, AtTask is our preferred solution.
