Overall Satisfaction with Wrike

We are using Wrike to quickly turn notes into activities and build on the current methods to do a continuous improvement of the processes that were in place before the PMO mindset settled in. Wrike has allowed us to collaborate with ease and to be able to communicate expectations quickly not only internally but also to external contributors. The multidimensional aspect of the folders comes in very handy when your projects are long and transversal on scope and resources. It is very convenient and being allowed to interact directly from the Gannt is a big win.
  • Building the Gannt
  • Following and unfollowing as well as adding followers
  • User management and permissions at task or folder level
  • Document versioning
  • Price
  • Allowing to participate in multiple Wrike sessions at once
  • Portfolio management
  • Email updates on tasks and projects
  • KPI reports
  • Communications management and internal wiki capabilities
  • Better knowledge transfer between teams
  • Faster times to implementation
  • Less email!
Asana is more like a very configurable super fast and easy to use spreadsheet. Wrike has more features, more options but is more for big teams. Asana is for more mature teams that do not communicate externally that much. Jira is just a software lifecycle development tool and too cumbersome for users.

Did Wrike live up to sales and marketing promises?

Would you buy Wrike again?

Yes

What is the maturity level of the company? From simple to complex environments.
Are many tasks repetitive or rescheduled? No problem with this, Blueprints for repetitive stuff is of great help.
Are there external contributors? That´s cool, collaborators are free.
Is there need to have it hosted for security reasons? Not sure if you can do this, but they have a SEC1 and 2 certifications.
Wrike can help with simple unstructured projects.

Using Wrike

200 - Project Managers, Program Directors, Collaborators and external users like customers, all make use of the tool as it serves as a communications management platform and it´s not only a tool for tracking time and accomplishments, it´s a wonderful way of sharing a cocreating work. In our case, we used it to communicate project status across all areas and served automated reports and exports to our customers and external stakeholders.
20 - We had the PMO leader and a PMO analyst, to coach and instruct PMs and other users, and they also became the administrators of the collaborative platform. Skills needed are not technical, on the contrary, we hired for people skills and became a supportive PMO that helped everyone in the company achieve a hollistic view on our projects and their complexity so that real collaboration was possible.
  • Project Status Reporting
  • Collaborative communicaiton and co-creation
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Change process management
  • The forms to facilitate project creation
  • The BI extract capabiliity for enhancing corporate reporting
  • The resource management tool was a great discovery
  • A fully capable API for integrating with other products
  • The two way sync with Jira for Continuous deployment lifecycle
No doubt about it. It is the one tool that I know I will always need. I would not like to loose it, and if necessary, I know I can export and download all of the information I have on it. But I am still anxious to keep improving my work routines with this tool.

Evaluating Wrike and Competitors

  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
  • Prior Experience with the Product
We had a manager that had tried it at a different org and liked it. But the features were the defining attribute. We liked what the product offered, and the price was considered very affordable considering the possibilities it offered.
I would list wrike´s features and build a bench mark for it because a lot of it is not present on other plaforms, and when it is, it requires extensive setup,

Wrike Implementation

We received all the support we needed from Wrike during and after the implementation.
Change management was a small part of the implementation and was well-handled - We did not have much trouble because we started with a supporting organization, and when the time came to adopt SEC regulations, we had the right tool for the purpose. So wrike gave us the chance of growing quickly while leaving it all properly documented.
  • Estimation of user licenses has to be done with time
  • Creation of groups was an issue until an improvement took care

Wrike Support

I have always gotten what I needed from them, even saw them go the extra mile for it.
