I feel like this is a very robust solution that I would recommend to anyone who relies heavily on remote support. Most of the colleagues I work with already use SolarWinds products to one extent or the other. I feel the price for the solution is very fair and a good value for the product.

I would definitely recommend TeamViewer to my colleagues as it's a kind of tool that I have been using for decades and it always does the job well. The added options are a cherry on top. Group voice and screen sharing and control is not supported. So definitely it doesn't work in this case.

  • It would be nice if the installed agent would be able to check in with the server so that I can connect to laptops, etc that have the agent pre-installed for when they are off network.
  • DameWare could do better with the mobile app. I cannot connect in from the outside with the mobile app to provide quick support if needed. This kind of defeats the purpose of a mobile app. If I am on the network, I probably have access to my workstation.

  • TeamViewer is very difficult to set up initially when trying to set up a permanent remote connection. It requires several steps that have to be done just right, or else it won't work, and doesn't give any indication of why it won't work.
  • TeamViewer is slow to make the initial connection.
  • Compared to other remote support products we use, TeamViewer lacks several features, such as the ability to see detailed information about a given computer without logging into the computer.

This application is one of my most used tools when it comes to supporting end users and the network as well. I don't have to run all over the place to get things done when I can access multiple computers on the network at the same time to accomplish multiple tasks in a minimal amount of time.

TeamViewer is everything we're looking for in a support tool, the cost for the tool is negligible with the value we receive from the tool. TeamViewer has saved us many times and continues to provide functionality and support for our devices like we haven't seen before in other tools. The ability to use TeamViewer quick connect provides efficient and non-technical ways for our non-tech-savvy end-users to get the assistance that they need while IT has the visibility and control over all of its' computer assets.

Because it has enhanced my ability to trouble shoot more issues during the day. Instead of having to go to each machine and spend time at the machine, I can remote in from my desktop and assist the person 90 per cent of the time. I also use it from home to remote in which saves me the time from having to return back to the workplace.

Although the program is simple to operate on its own, determining how simple it is to use TeamViewer is extremely subjective and dependent on the particular use case. The transfer of files is also supported, and the company boasts that its transfer rate is far faster than that of any of its rivals. On-the-fly compression, which was a feature exclusive to TeamViewer, was responsible for this accomplishment.

I use a Samsung mobile device; DameWare Mobile was working and then after an Android update it started crashing. I reported the issue to DameWare and worked with the technicians and developers to gather data for them to correct the issue. They quickly published a beta release for me to test (which corrected the crashes) and then published an update to the Google Play Store.

I was able to talk to sales about our problem (of being charged for an additional year subscription when we had asked to cancel), and Sales and I had a nice conversation. But when I contacted TeamViewer Support by email to request that our subscription be canceled, they very "nicely" told me by email that I should have read the "fine print". And that they can "Automatically Renew" a subscription for a year if they do not receive a cancellation request a month before the expiration of the current subscription. (When I called Support, I was put on hold; and I held, and held, and held, etc.) Admittedly, part of the problem was mine. I sent in my cancellation request after the deadline that TeamViewer outlines in their "fine print". But, I still feel that TeamViewer could have or should have a policy of refunding at least a large percentage of the "Automatic Renewal" charge, especially if the customer is not utilizing the subscription.

I have watched a few informational videos that were helpful when learning how to do a specific procedure within TeamViewer and get the most out of the software by utilizing one of the many features that are available with the software. It helps greatly if you know someone already using DameWare Remote Support. I was fortunate as my tech support guys were using it at their hospital and assisted me through the purchase, download and implementation of remote support. As well as, knowing how many licenses to purchase at the time. You have to make sure that anyone assisting in IT can have access to the program with their own license.

We previously utilized LogMeIn. They increased the pricing of their solution which made us reconsider it. I inherited LogMeIn. I am not a big fan of hosted solutions for some vital IT processes. There was convenience in LogMeIn, but there were also risks about the solution that I was never completely comfortable with. I had utilized DameWare at a previous company, so I knew what I was getting with it. It was an easy decision for me to make. DameWare is an exceptional product.

TeamViewer is a great tool with a well-respected name and a foundation of trust with advanced and intermediate users. We used to have BeyondTrust (Bomgar) in our office and it provided equivalent feature sets but had a dated appearance. Performance with both products is exceptional, and we could only ask for TeamViewer to have a mandatory recording feature.

Return on Investment

  • DameWare has allowed us to maintain our non-traditional approach to IT support. It allows our administrators to work from anywhere and has extended their reach to clients domestic and abroad.
  • Return on investment was realized as soon as we purchased the licenses. We don't have to maintain a large office space or overhead costs due to the flexibility it allows our administrators.
  • First call resolution has increased drastically since implementing DameWare company-wide. The user no longer has to wait to reproduce an error. We can screen share and view it as it happens and mitigate the issues.

  • Since I started using TeamViewer, the number of times I have to visit clients to update our programs on the PC has been visibly reduced, which is very helpful.
  • TeamViewer not only improves work efficiency and productivity, but also contributes to work-life balance and, above all, to fast customer service.
  • It is also recommended for system administrators who cover several offices with a small number.
