We used EveryAction to build supporter engagement actions - drafting petitions for supporters to sign and automated emails to send to legislators and companies. We used the database to design better and more engaging campaigns. We needed something simple that all campaigners could use (not digital experts) to take autonomy over their campaigns.

We use EveryAction as our mass digital marketing CRM and are in the process of migrating our high-touch fundraising and direct mail programs over as well (from Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge NXT). Primary uses case currently are donation processing, outbound email and SMS, non-public events, and lead generation. We are integrating EveryAction with Shopify (eCommerce), Eventbrite (public events), and a learning management system.

In our experience, EveryAction is appropriate for small to mid-sized non-profit organizations that engage in a wide variety of fundraising operations. It is geared primarily towards political fundraising, and some of the vernacular and features are clearly oriented to campaign or issue-based fundraising, which makes the tool particularly apt for those organizations. That orientation has not proved to be a hindrance for our non-political fundraising, fortunately. However, I imagine some development time will be 'wasted' (from our perspective) in building out those features.

I've used NGP for 20 years and VAN for 18 years both are services that are remarkably helpful in campaign fundraising, compliance, and voter management. As the work of campaigns has shifted in the past 20 years so have the products of NGG/VAN/EveryAction. The software continues to advance and align with the best practices in the field and I look forward to using the tools for years to come.

We use EveryAction to receive donations and membership dues, send targeted email blasts, process letters to officials on action priorities, and track supporters' interests.

EveryAction oversold [itself] to us in terms of its capabilities to meet clearly defined needs in early discussions and during implementation. While we still feel we need to move to a singular, comprehensive CRM (we were using separate donor tracking and email marketing tools) and EveryAction will eventually get them, they are not ready for prime time for our unique needs of offering "member-only" content to members and organizations subscribers. We've had to implement several workarounds that hamper some of our marketing efforts to organizations (versus people) and cannot effectively generate tax letters with accurate amounts. These were explicit needs defined by us which they assured us they could meet. Not so.

We use EveryAction as our Database solution. We track our contacts and use [them] to send out emails as needed to our network. We currently have a database manager who is in charge of maintaining all of our records in EveryAction NGP and she works with me and others on best practices.

I think if you are using it solely as an email client for sending out messages to large networks of people it has a good purpose. However, it lacks many features that a more established CRM would have. I think it can be part of the overall solution for a non-profit organization but not the entire one.

EveryAction manages the contact acquisition and actions we take for federal lobbying efforts. It supplants our current CRM to keep contacts completely siloed within our multiple tax entities. We are currently using EA for email marketing, digital ads, online forms, and voter contact. We have built out permission roles, CSS form templates, and web sign-up online actions.

We use EveryAction to implement digital fundraising, advocacy, and organizing campaigns for a variety of enterprise-level nonprofit organizations. EveryAction's integrated digital engagement and constituent data management tools allow for easy reporting and complex marketing automation. These use cases are more challenging to implement in other, more siloed digital communications platforms that require sophisticated data syncs and manual work to get working as one platform.

EveryAction is well suited for large organizations that need or desire an integrated database for their fundraising and constituent engagement. Large organizations that desire a high level of customization, and don't mind the work and resources that go into it, may also find that EveryAction doesn't best suit their needs.

I have been using other pieces of software and other competitors and I love this piece of software over all of the others. The interface is easy to use, very quick to respond, and means that we're able to get more done in less time. I would definitely recommend this over other software. Give it a try with your company. The integrations, automation, and other aspects are incredibly useful.

It is used primarily by the development (fundraising) department (including communication and marketing), and secondarily by the finance department (only by about 20 out of 400+ employees at this company). It was selected in 2018 to address the problems of donation data and donor records being kept in several different databases, online CC processing not connected to donor database with an API, some databases kept on on-site servers.

EveryAction is our main CRM platform. We use it primarily to send marketing emails to our list of about 400k people. This allows us to fundraise off of our contacts and activate them in political activity. Additionally, our development department uses EveryAction to track and manage gifts, and our organizing department uses it to create advocacy forms and manage advocate activity. EveryAction addresses the need for a contact management system that goes organization-wide.

EveryAction is the optimal platform for non-profits that have email lists and are seeking to elevate the way they manage contacts. If you have a need to track activity, acquire new users, send emails, and convert users to donors, advocates, or loyalists, EveryAction offers a great experience. EveryAction allows you to transfer data from previous CRMs, but if you don't believe you'll use all the features of the software, it may not be useful to transition until your data is clean and you're ready to elevate your strategies.

EveryAction is used by Indivisible to send out weekly calls to action to activists across the state, also to generate lists of voters by congressional district to target emails and other communication tools. It is an integral method of keeping in touch with our members. It takes some training to know all the features but is then relatively easy to use.

Sending targeted emails is a great use of EveryAction. By creating lists, you can send specific emails based on the criteria you set. The ability to create templates makes the process go smoothly and quickly. The emails look professional and I love that you can see the analytics to determine the effectiveness of your outreach.

We use EveryAction for multiple reasons in that we are a social justice organization that [has] multiple issue campaigns in motion at the same time, such as to monitor sign up for engagement, to follow up with those who attended meetings as well as those who [were] a no-show, to see where people are from, by specific interest, and to create a base of donors and their patterns for retention as well as to move them from donors to volunteers, etc.

EveryAction is utilized across our whole organization. We use it to maintain our donor directory, communicate with our community, create online actions for our webpage, and maintain our organization's database overall. Mostly, it helps us remain engaged with our donors and eliminates the need for paper sign-up sheets at events.

  • Correcting information or links in a targeted email. You almost have to be a code writer to understand the mistake and how to fix it.
EveryAction is great for donor management and engagement. You can create easy-to-use forms quickly and post them anywhere, be it your webpage, social media, or even in an email. All you need is the link! If you know how to write code, that would be a bonus, but not necessary. I've only been using it for about a year and it has decreased my office work significantly; it does the hard work for you. I highly recommend this platform if you have several people you would like to manage and keep in contact with on a regular basis.

We use EveryAction, Online Actions, and Targeted Email. We use the tool for data analytics, email coding for advocacy, GOTV, fundraising, etc., digital campaign setup, email automation, and beyond. We use it primarily in our data and digital departments. We rely on EveryAction primarily to deploy any and all of our digital campaigns. EveryAction's report manager tool is very helpful to us as well.

  • Getting help from the ticketing help system--it can take a long time to get a response.

  • The log-out times for EveryAction can be frustrating, especially when you get logged out in the middle of building a campaign and you lose information.
EveryAction is great for progressive political organizations that wish to deploy digital campaigns to their audience, grow their audience reach, and keep the audience engaged. The tool is very intuitive to use and I've seen updates to the platform that has made the tool even easier for someone without a technical background to build campaigns. Anything in the realm of email, form submission, reporting, and automation is very well done.

We use EveryAction every day, and it is critical to us because it allows us to organize all of our data and lists. From researching voters to sending targeted emails, EveryAction makes our lives much easier. Additionally, their integration and tracking systems make it very easy for us to link our accounts with other websites and platforms, such as ActBlue.

Our entire organization uses EveryAction. It is a great CRM that meets all of our fundraising, advocacy, and communication needs.
  • Online Action Pages: we are able to build out online actions (petitions, emails, tweets) to target policy and decision-makers and EveryAction’s interface makes it easy for our members to take action.
  • Fundraising: EveryAction’s fundraising functions allow us to easily pull segmented lists of our donors and to target communication to them.
  • Engagement points: EA has a system for tracking volunteers and moving them up a ladder of engagement that is easy for our organizers to use and track progress.

It’s best suited for organizations that have issues with departments being siloed. It allows you to house all of your data in one place and to compare data across departments. It makes internal collaboration much easier.

We use EA for a few of our clients that we consult for. This is typically as a 'CRM' and the main point of contact for the organization's digital outreach. We typically have an external website, but EA contains all of the donor data and information (for mailings, analytics, etc.) as well as the main area from which correspondence (email) and revenue (donation pages and engagement activities such as petitions and surveys) is generated.
  • Easy to Use - EA has really robust documentation as well for complicated features but also has a pretty streamlined mechanism to build anything. Very little requires technical knowledge to accomplish.
  • Consistent feature updates - EA does a great job of updating and adding new features to the platform.
  • Robust Data - for each email, you can see splits on opens, clicks, revenue and unsubs and for donation pages, you can see a ton of data to understand the impact of each page or email you're creating.
  • Deep customization of pages can require a fair amount of technical knowledge. If you really need to change things, a solid knowledge of JS, HTML and CSS is required.
  • Some nice to have features are missing - you often can't update multiple forms at the same time - each requires you to go in and make a change manually to each page.
  • Some features don't provide great results. As an example, the plain-text builder for EA isn't very good and requires us to regularly build our own or use a 3rd party generator - it seems like an odd thing to be bad, but it is.
I think EA has a very particular audience that it focuses on very well - if you're a non-profit and you need an out-of-the-box solution for donor management and to send emails and build webpages, EA is phenomenal for that. It's easy to use and is quick to spin up. There's also a ton of features to build upon the basis after a while as well. I'm not sure EA is good for really small operations though - EA's tools are powerful and can be fairly overwhelming for smaller non-profits.

Our donor services, resource development, and communications departments use EveryAction for various functions within each department. Donor Services uses it to record contributions and pledges for each donor. Resource Development uses it to produce reports based on DS entries to report to other stakeholders. Communications uses it to help drive our online fundraising. While there are some limitations on reports, the product generally works well for all of us involved.

EA works well for entering gifts into donors accounts. Works very well when we need to replicate a gift in the donor's account. The clone feature is terrific. There are times when we apply gifts to a pledge and the pledge is already completed or near complete but the system allows the payment to be made that's higher than the pledge balance. This creates additional work for us to fix.
