Promapp is far better for the average user. They can write their own processes and not rely on a BA to do the job. We did have resistance from BAs; however, I wonder if that was because they were the process gatekeepers and now people could be the Expert or Owner of the process without the BA

Nintex Process Platform is specific to Intelligence Process Automation supporting heavily on finance, field service, marketing, and deployment while Alteryx has more of Analytics, Automation, Visualization, and Transformation. Both are very good, and Nintex Process Platform can take into consideration different data architecture (hybrid, cloud), and some unique node blocks which Alteryx does not have all the same options.

When I started at the Garland Fire Department, Nintex was a platform they had just purchased, and no one really knew what it could do. Once we saw the power of the forms and workflows we haven't slowed down. Nintex is now our Go-To application for most anything we need to do. Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365), Microsoft Power Automate (formerly microsoft flow) and PowerApps

Once you have O365, the obvious choice of tools would be the ones that are part of the platform and are included in your subscription, like PowerApps and Flow. Still, we often choose Nintex Process Platform instead.

Regarding forms, Nintex Process Platform provides a more intuitive design interface which is also more low-code. PowerApps requires more of an IT background or otherwise a steeper learning curve.

We concluded that Flow is not able to manage the most complex workflows in our business, but Nintex Process Platform workflow is well-equipped to tackle even a 20+ step global process.

Overall, Nintex Process Platform is more intuitive and at the same time is able to solve more complex problems.

I used SharePoint Designer and Microsoft Visual Studio. We are testing also Microsoft Office 365 Power Automate and Power Apps which are in a competition to the Nintex Workflow Cloud. K2 was not tested but in the focus, at the end the pricing was to expensive for small/mid size companies.

Nintex is still ahead of the curve on many of its competitors for a number of actions they offer. We do frequently evaluate other tools as many other offerings are rapidly closing the gap. Microsoft Flow has come a long way in the past year and I foresee them giving Nintex a real run for their money.

Nintex is without a doubt much more complete, with more resources and many more possibilities. When comparing Google Forms with Nintex Forms, it is undoubtedly a tool show, allowing us to put intelligence on the form, allowing us to put calculations and integrations, things that Google Forms does not do.
