Putting calls on park so they can be accessed anywhere in the offices. The system is so easy to learn for everyone involved. The customer service has been very good as well - someone does respond quickly when asked for help. I also like the fact that if I cannot understand the voicemail someone left, I can check my computer and hear it better.

    Microsoft

Our entire company has been able to communicate via Microsoft Teams for large company meetings and use video to connect with each other. We've held large team meetings as well where everyone joins in with video to be able to see each others' faces from time to time since we're all now 100% remote. Microsoft Teams is an excellent communication tool between myself and my employees. The one thing I'd say that is a drawback is that my team member and I had a personal conversation and an IT person was able to view and even share our conversation with other bosses. I thought this was inappropriate and I wish there would be a way to be "alerted" when someone is spying in on your conversations!

    Pros

    Broadvoice

    • Broadvoice is excellent for customizing/tailoring to a business's specific needs.
    • Tech Support is easy to reach, and provides consistent help.
    • Onboarding new customers is very thorough and supportive. Changing phone systems is overwhelming and time-consuming. Broadvoice makes it as easy as possible with clear expectations and fantastic training.

    • Video calls are great with Microsoft Teams. They've made big improvements over the last year and I rarely have issue with getting on. It's nice when things just work.
    • The most used functionality is, of course, the chat feature. It does what it's supposed to do and you can create chat groups from whoever you'd like. We use it a lot when there is a special project and a team from various groups get together for a short period of time to get things done.
    • An overlooked function is the ability to search anything within Microsoft Teams. Any photo, document, or chat can be searched and found pretty easily. I can't tell you how many times this has saved me from having to rewrite something or start over.

    Cons

    Broadvoice

    • Process for provisioning a new telephone can be time consuming
    • Auto attendant text-to-voice options are limited and sound more robotic than some I've used
    • Bits of information about telephone extensions/people are stored in multiple locations. Often I miss updating one piece and have to dig around for it a 2nd time. Not always found in intuitive places. (maybe provide links to related info? )

    Microsoft

    • Found a bug where Microsoft Teams suddenly drops during an ongoing call even if there is no network issue from either end
    • Screen sharing is also buggy. When we share our desktop screen on MS Teams the taskbar disappears and it's difficult to navigate through apps.
    • There is a limit to PIN 15 chats a favourites. This count should be increased.

Broadvoice is an ideal value. It's not the best possible IP based phone system but it's easily one of the best options if cost is a factor. We got a capable and easy to use product while lowering our costs, a total win-win.

Microsoft Teams is included with our Office 365 subscription and we have no intention of migrating off of Office 365 and Microsoft products. Since Microsoft Teams is included for free with our Office 365 subscription, and since we enjoy all the features, benefits, and functionality, there is no question that our team will continue to use the product

    Usability

    Broadvoice

At first, it seemed "daunting" to use but that is very much the same with a lot of things that are new. Broadvoice supplies great Quick Sheets to main topics, such as Feature Codes, Flow Charts, User Guides, which are easy to read and follow. Once it is used often, it is easy to understand, follow, and make changes to fit your company

Laura H. our Service Coordinator was exceptionally helpful when the inevitable hiccups occurred along the way. She calmly sought out solutions that kept the project moving so that we could meet our move-out/move-in deadlines. Also, their 24/7 Business Support line is staffed with knowledgeable people that answer my questions quickly and accurately.

I think Microsoft Team is overall good application for communication, track Project work inter the teams and also intra teams. I have 7 out of 10 because it needs improvements in certain features like video sharing call, call drop, audio quality and connecting problems even after having good internet connection.

It was straightforward to set up. The phone was delivered prior to installation. The script and routing of calls were established prior to installation as well. The on-site technician installed each phone and offered training to anyone who asked. The main setup for hours, calls, and extensions was already set up via online meeting, making the phone install on-site a seamless experience.

    Alternatives Considered

    Broadvoice

Other companies have used other systems, and there has always seemed to be a disconnect. The communication system can end up being a nightmare and truly ruin the day/week/month when issues arise. We have had the benefit of Broadvoice, so that has not been the case for us

I enjoy Teams better than Lync/Skype for Business, but I enjoy Slack the most for inter-company communication and UI/UX convenience. The learning curve for Slack is very small and it has a casual atmosphere that would engage the employees in a more fun and welcoming manner than a stark and professional background of Teams.

Honestly, this tool is worth every penny. Yes, it's not free and you pay for the quality of services and the license. But the ROI and the benefits are all there. Also, the renewal, negotiation, and contract terms are all very well explained by our Microsoft account manager, and she's a charm.

    • I think it has allowed us to leverage our Office365 more effectivly since all of the apps are synced together.
    • It has really allowed us transition away from more formal webex meetings and have a more free flow conversation.
    • It also gives us a more direct line to our manager if we need there input they can easily join our team chat.
