Zoom is very user friendly on the mobile but it’s not ideal for use with conference rooms. Plus Zoom never felt as secure as BlueJeans. We’ve been on BlueJeans for over a year now.

Cisco Webex is too corporate-level and great for a company's in-room video conferencing but not the best mobile solution.

BlueJeans is the best of both worlds. It’s very secure, it’s very easy to use, and has apps/interface for all types of hardware.

I find BlueJeans easy to use. Any single user finds it easy to configure and as a multiplatform solution, they are able to connect to any meeting using their resources available at any time. An admin can help his users to connect and monitor their meetings with no effort. And the system provides as much information as you could need.

We chose BlueJeans because it was more secure and had a better user interface than most of these platforms. It was a straightforward service and a plan with no extra frills. Since it was purchased by Verizon, I have noticed the addition of these extra items and I don't find them adding value to the platform, which was just a secure and efficient online meeting hosting.

My organization selected BlueJeans because the project co-lead was already used to holding meetings on it before, and wanted to continue using it for the new project they were part of. I would say BlueJeans is more 'old school' than the other options, not as widely used as WebEx and Zoom, less intuitive/user-friendly than Zoom, but more intuitive than WebEx. Our organization has now acquired a license for WebEx, so we are transitioning to it in order to meet the organization's criteria.

Well I selected BlueJeans because we are a sports organisation, and in the International Olympic Committee this is the platform that they used. I normally use to work with Fuze personally, because of their security, but then we got to know BlueJeans and stayed there. After that Zoom became popular, but we have been always against it because of their lack of security.

Zoom is better with break outs and was better for the teaching I did last semester.
Teams is being rolled out with Canadian Fed government so it's protected B and trusted. Many departments block BlueJeans, Google, and Zoom invites.
We do not like Google Hangouts so Zoom is much better quality.

Zoom did not respond to questions when I was purchasing back in March and BlueJeans responded well and quickly so I went with BlueJeans. As it gets better I would love to see it surpass Zoom in Canada for its use. There is a new product called Circles we are also exploring. Would be great if it could be an app within BlueJeans in the future.

As mentioned earlier, as compared to Webex and Teams, BlueJeans does not have the option of toggling between presentation vs video screens whereby in Webex and Teams once presentations are shared the video screens of participants are compromised into small windows and showing to a limited number of participants. BlueJeans used to only show up to 9 pax which we were often unable to see the faces of out-of-9 team members but now it has improved which is a great pleasant surprise for the team and we are currently loving it as it is working almost the same as we used to with Zoom.

BlueJeans outperformed the other platforms in our estimation in the following areas:
  • Privacy and security.
  • Clarity of audio and video.
  • Ease of use.
  • Recording capability.
The other products also had some of these features or even all of them. When putting the entire package together, however, BlueJeans proved superior to our users.

BlueJeans is amazing because it's simple, it's reliable, it does the job it is intended for without extra bells and whistles.

Staff has the confidence that they don't have to fiddle with overly complicated software to to make a presentation or share their point of view during a meeting.

It eliminates the need for dedicated IT/Admin support just to conduct meetings.

We used GoToMeeting for a long time. Had a multiplicity of issues through the use of the software, in addition to the cost, which was triple the cost of implementing BlueJeans.
We currently have a ZOOM account as well, as some clients specifically asked to communicate via Zoom, as they are used to the interface and the tools it offers.

BlueJeans was the preferred option over Skype for the reasons mentioned throughout the review, far more intuitive, easy guest access, improved video and audio quality, substantially better on tools (breakout rooms, whiteboard etc).

  • Zoom
Based on comments I have received from different users, the sound and video quality are much better with BlueJeans than with Zoom. Other than that, it seems like our users find the two products very similar to each other. One nice recent addition to BlueJeans is the ability to choose from different virtual backgrounds. Not everybody feels comfortable showing the interior of their homes.

BlueJeans is much more modern than Webex or GoToMeeting. It's also a ton cheaper. We used Fuze before (not fantastic), but that's been deprecated by new ownership. Microsoft Teams has really grown up and is a real contender however. It's just stupid easy to start and schedule meetings in Teams, sometimes with better quality than BlueJeans. At the moment, Teams can't replace the conference call line functionality or the conference room features that BlueJeans gives us now.

PROS:
  1. Has the best layout controls amongst all competing platforms
  2. All options to connect are easy
  3. With a plethora of options in the current times, people are wary of installing yet another app on their PCs; connecting to a BlueJeans meeting with browser just as easily as from the app, without being compelled to download an app, is a boon
CONS:
  1. Lack of integrated polling is a downer
  2. BlueJeans has not been the one to introduce new features for a while now. Could do with being first off the blocks rather than playing slow catchup.

Where BlueJeans scores over others:
  • Layout controls. The moderator can define the layout for all participants.
  • Scheduling. This could be a personal opinion, but scheduling on BlueJeans just works and FEELS better than most other platforms, though all other platforms can do the same things just as easily.
  • Bandwidth requirement; it was true that BlueJeans seemed to use less bandwidth and consequently used less data than other platforms did (the gap has narrowed in favour of some other platforms), but it is still easier to have a good quality call more often on BlueJeans as compared to most other platforms.
  • Connecting to hardware based video conference rooms is more seamless, easy. Only Lifesize can compare.
  • Moderator controls are more EFFECTIVE in BlueJeans, giving the moderator more control in managing individual users.

In BlueJeans you can have a unlimited cloud storage for recording meetings, Zoom the storage is limited.
BlueJeans can have multiple meeting running at the same time with one single user account. Zoom you can have only one meeting at the same time per user.
BlueJeans user interface is a lot more friendly than Webex or Microsoft Teams.
Google Meet is good but you cannot directly stream to Facebook Live.

In this case, the use of BlueJeans over Microsoft Teams has made us aware of notable differences, for example with BlueJeans you can program several videoconference sessions with the same license, which with Teams you cannot, in general several functions are similar but now BlueJeans exceeds the number of simultaneous screens that Teams has, in addition to the connectivity with videoconferencing equipment that BlueJeans has directly and that Teams does not have that option unless it is used by third parties such as BlueJeans itself.
