For non accounting user, it's mostly easy to use. The gui is simple and we can understand what the menu or submenu is for. But when it come to reporting, to register payment and the so not working automated rule when linked with the bank account it's becoming more difficult to use.
With non accounting knowledge and experience, the basic stuff is good, but should have been more interactive guide and an accountant was needed to check and validate our data entry.

I gave a rating of 8/10 because if you are a small business whith limited transactions and volume, this is a great tool!
QuickBooks Online is best for:
- Basic accounting
- Monthly reconcilations
- AR and AP

QuickBooks Online is worst for:
- Detailed or Ad-hoc reporting
- Customization
- Complex accounting

QuickBooks is fine for a small business with very repititious sales/AR, as well as low employee count with few changes to employee personnel. It allows those without an accounting degree to do full cycle accounting to an extent. It is not great at this because the non accountant user has full free reign to do whatever they can figure out on their own within the system with few if any checks and balances in place to make sure there is proper usage.

Quickbooks and Me

When I first began using QBO, I did not know what to expect as I had no bookkeeping experience for a general business rather than medical which was my previous job. However, there were many similarities. The reports feature is really super with the ability to customize. Paying bills is a multi step breeze. When a check is cashed, QBO matches it with the bill which generated it and everything falls into place. For expenses, I can add a copy of a register receipt directly. QBO keeps track of vendors and makes sure that vendors with similar spelling are noted when using. Also. each vendor profile has ability to note Tax ID and 1099 tracking.

Overall, QuickBooks Online handles the most important tasks in my business. Being able to send invoices to customers with a click of a button is extremely useful. I also get to see if they have opened the invoice. The payments feature is also really nice. Once a payment is received from a customer, it takes 1-2 days to see that payment in my bank account. Overall, QuickBooks Online has been a great experience!

I highly recommend Quickbooks Online because I love the ease of entering our clients and our spending accounts. We can send an invoice to a client for payment and have the money in our accounts within minutes. It's also great for someone who has never used accounting software before. Overall, I would recommend QuickBooks Online -- you'll love the simplicity and ease of generating reports that are helpful.

While some things are very intuitive and the user interface is nice, it still takes quite a bit of training and the help feature isn't that helpful. For someone who is also running the business, it's a huge time commitment. If you really want to get it set up right it's best to pay someone, but that increases the cost then significantly.

QuickBooks Online was an awesome platform several years ago, but they constantly keep adding new features and over-complicating the layout. I really wish there was a way to disable many of the features I don't use so they don't clutter up the interface. Overall it's still not bad and I haven't found anything better, but it frustrates me to continue seeing more advertisements for other affiliate services when I'm simply trying to run my business.

I used quickbooks for many years I was happy to do so until I had to sort out a problem, the phone number to call has a human on the other end that can not assist in solving a problem.
you are directed to your account and website than directed to fill in a survey and hope that somone will call or look at the problem.
dont hold you breath because the call will not happen in a timely Mannor.
Quick books system has put a hold on a customer payment $2650.00 nothing that i have done can get it released I have spent three hours on the phone today and I have been attempting to sort this out for 5 days, my customer paid in good faith and the payment is on hold for auditing purposes.

The product performs in the areas of basic bookkeeping and accounting, but to fully use the product for a small business with a few "quirks" additional upgrades will be needed (from QBO Basic to QBO Plus), payroll, and add-ons will be to have all the bells and whistles needed to perform some basic functions offered in other products.

It is pretty easy to use but can be difficult for new users as with most software. You have to get used to where everything is but once you know how to do things, it is relatively easy. There are a lot of tutorials available to review and check if you get stuck on something.

QuickBooks Online is one of those tools you truly need to get to know and understand. I hadn't used an accounting tool before so it was definitely something I had to spend some time learning and getting used to it. I now feel very comfortable and frequently use the same features on a weekly basis. The part I love most is the easy process of getting my self-assessment files and reports ready with the click of a few buttons.

Quickbooks is a more than adequate solution that solves many complex problems. Is it the easiest tool to use? - No. Is it totally learnable to anyone who is accustom to performing these responsibilities either manually or with other competitor tools? - Absolutely.

The ability for us and clients to both be in the system, see the entries each of us have made and also direct a client to certain reports and views is very helpful as compared to getting an accountant's copy or getting a date in time copy that then needs to be uploaded by the client after we make adjustments. Still, the in ability to prevent someone from deleting an entry without knowing who or what was deleted is frustrating.

It's Easy enough to learn the basic for a new user; though if you are required to go more in depth in recording assets or liability accounts it could get somewhat confusing for the every day user who doesn't know double-entry accounting. It's great for a business that just wants profit and loss information available at their fingertips.

It's easy to download, install and login for access. This is especially true for people who work in various places such as a home office, client's site and on a business trip. The data is stored online which sounds like a more safe environment as compared to a hardware which may break down, got lost or stolen.
