Great resource, but wish I knew more!!
I use it to look up donor information such as recent gifts. Our library staff uses it to keep track of patrons who visit every day. They mark it as an action and then pull a report at the end of the day. I usually use RE database more then NXT but I like to have both open during my work day.
- It is user friendly and the layout of each donor page is helpful when looking for information quickly
- Showing when there are duplicate records
- Pulling quick reports like actions of donors
- Have membership number more visible. A lot of our members ask for the number to sign up for programs and I have to go into RE database to look it up. Our front desk staff only have access to RE NXT so that would be helpful for them to be able to look it up
- Just more record details in general. The database still has more details and I tend to need to go in there as well

Excellent software for fundraising!
It is hard to modify report. For example, if we have same credit card and check donation on same day, it is hard to separate the reports.

Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT...needs sharpening.
Raiser's Edge NXT and database version are utilized by our university to keep track of alumni, friends and donors to the institution. I query data on a regular basis to create thank you letters and scholarship impact reports. When I encounter outdated information I email the data services team to get it updated.
- Making the functionality of NXT so incomparable to the database version we have to use both.
- Requiring the use of a third party (PaperSave) to upload scanned documents.
- Frequent periods of inaccessibility that their engineers rush to fix (assuming they can duplicate your error, which sometimes they can't--even when creating a copy of your data).
- Funds are not easy to access via NXT
- Queries are not accessible via NXT
- Emailing constituents should be easy and attractive through our CRM, but it's not so we use third parties like Constant Contact.

A Great Informational and Organizational Fundraising Tool!
I personally utilize the system to go in and gather all funder information from individual donors to corporations and foundation. We have a specific staff person who runs reports on different groups and creates emails lists that go out for specific individual campaigns. For example we just pulled a roster of all alumni for a camp we are about to re-open and were able to tailor an email to go out just for them. The system for me is a great organization tool and also holds any funding agreements with reporting info. While I am not the most technical user I know staff says nothing but great things and I personally find the platform user friendly for my needs.

I use Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT on a daily basis to record my action working with donors. Planning, researching, and communicating with donors is made easy with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT. Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT's database information feeds right into Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT making my job, as a Development Officer, much easier and more efficient. The convenient web-based product allows me quick access on the go too. I can use my smartphone to get into Edge NXT whenever I need info on the go.

- It's a convenient location to story history, notes, and future or past actions.
- Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT is extremely easy to use and powerful enough to meet all your needs.

- Edge NXT is lacking when it comes to planning tools. Sure, it's easy to add future actions to your calendar, but Edge NXT doesn't offer ideas for future actions.

Efficient Database and Event Management Platform!
We utilize Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT for fundraising management, as well as our credit card transactions, event support and more. The tools are simple to use and improves efficiency for our small office. Being cloud-based assists with being able to access the files anywhere and also having several login options enables our office to allow others access to the information they need. In talking to colleagues at other institutions, I feel we definitely have the best product for our needs!

RE NXT Review
As an Advancement Assistant, I use RE daily for database management and fundraising and for supporting the activities of the Advancement Department. We have been using RENXT for about 1.5 years. We have used Blackbaud's Raisers Edge since 2010. I currently use RENXT primarily for managing online donations, receipting, and tracking actions. I currently continue to use RE database view for most of my research, reporting and exporting as well as database management tasks.

- Creating and tracking actions
- Creating duplicate constituents when approving online gift batches - for every gift record you merge into an active constituent record, RE NXT creates an inactive record for the merged record. It would be more efficient to be able to delete the inactive record at that time, rather than having to do so later on the DBV admin side.
- Search options - on some search options, you have to press the enter key to start the search and others it starts the search without pressing the enter key so if you press the enter key, it retrieves the last record you searched for rather than the one you currently want to see.
- When setting up online donation forms, there is no option for our donor to set up an end date for a recurring gift. As such, this requires additional follow-up and monitoring to make sure the gift is stopped when they want it stopped.
- I have not looked at this yet for the current year, but this past year when I created year-end giving statements, it included commitments(pledges) as well as actual donations received and there was no way to change that making these unusable for giving statements for tax purposes, I hope that has been resolved so I can use this functionality this year, but it caused extra work last year.
Our organization uses RE NXT primarily as a tool for fundraisers (development team) to manage their portfolio of donors, prospects, and others involved in our organization. It solves the problem of fundraisers not having a central place to manage their portfolio or having to rely on our database manager for information related to their portfolio and fundraising efforts.
- Provide easy ways to track actions (past, present and future) with constituents in order to capture the different stages of a donor or prospect’s lifecycle at the organization – from cultivation to solicitation to stewardship.
- Capture detailed information on constituents and easily change or update the information
- Enable fundraisers to see detailed gift information without having to ask database manager
- The capabilities of lists are too limited and often do not provide enough information that fundraisers need, which makes them reliant on our database manger to pull information.
- Merging records in RE NXT requires users to also merge in RE database
- The capabilities of receipt/acknowledgment letter are too limited which result in users having to find other tools outside of Blackbaud
- Support for issues is not consistent - some are highly knowledgeable, others not so much. When there is a widespread issue, not everyone is aware of the issue or how to fix it.

Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT helps me be efficient at my job!
I use Blackbaud Rasier's Edge NXT to research constituents, create and manage events, and for everyday marketing emails. It helps to create a one stop shop for all my needs. I am able to pull mailing lists easily as well as look at constituent data to see potential donors. I use NXT every day in my job.

Girl that does what others can't (or don't have too...)
My work in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT is mostly in the backside of Raiser's Edge (RE), processing gifts, updating data, query searches and list pulling. I wish we could do an update via NXT and have it show in RE is cases where a duplicate profile is found and needs to be merged. Some of the information that was put in via NXT will not move with the merge in RE. I do however list the event lists in NXT are easier reading and understanding than in RE.
- Being able to pull an attendee list from NXT and be able to understand it.
- The ease of finding a profile.
- As I stated earlier, making all updates put in through NXT be able to be kept in Raiser's Edge.
- Since I am just really using NXT more, I still find that I do go back to RE to find somethings as they are not as user friendly in NXT

Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT has been very useful to our major gift officers as they research, cultivate and solicit prospective donors. We have also used it to upgrade our financial reports.

Front line user review
I'm a front line fundraiser, I use it daily to help me track and work my moves management. Using reports, capturing contact information and proposals. Seeing organization goals, individual goals and actions on our constituents across campus. Tracking event and meeting attendees. Giving and wealth information resources are key to our prospect management as well.

Blackbaud NXT is utilized as our main donor database as well as system that captures our online donations. This space helps us capture information and make donor cultivation decisions. NXT solved many of our problems in capturing donor information, forecasting giving trends and donor communications. We could successfully see how we were doing on our fundraising goals.

Raisers Edge NXT is an effective donor management tool
Donor management of over 4,000 donor records which contain giving history, event participation, all contact information, and a record of all donor contacts. We are able to view wealth ratings and donor giving capacity, keep journal notes, actions for each individual donor, and relationships with other donors. We are also able to soft credit gifts to funds, donor-advised funds, and employers.

Good Resource for Small Offices
We use Blackbaud for all gift processing, pledges, planned gifts and gift tracking. We also use Blackbaud for our alumni database and higher education fundraising. Blackbaud is our main communication with our donor and alumni.

Things to Consider When Needing a Report with Multiple Criteria
We use Blackbaud Raiser' Edge NXT to keep constituent contact info current and up to date. We use the notes and action features to maintain info related to constituent stewardship and cultivation. We also use the gifts section to enter gifts, generate receipts, and keep copies of receipts and thank you letters for each constituent's giving record.
- Updating addresses through NCOA
- Info on email opens, bounces, and unsubscribes
- Ease of use to add or remove constituent codes, update name or address info, etc.
- There is a lack of user-friendly features to use NXT to run anything other than very basic reports. For reports that need multiple criteria, I always end up having to go back into the database.
- When syncing to a parent system, the parent system overrides any info in NXT, even if it is info that is not recent on the parent side, resulting in the system "divorcing" spouses and overriding contact info.
- I often feel like I need a degree in IT in order to run reports. Running a query, to then run an export, to than export the export to Excel takes a lot of time. It seems like there should be a more user-friendly way to generate reports.
- Using the chat function to get help from RE, can often mean an hour plus out of your day. Even after telling the tech the problem and what you've done through troubleshooting, they still make you go through the steps again, ending in the same result, before you can actually get the help that you need to solve the issue. Sometimes they don't know the answer and have to research and respond back by email.

NXT promising but still needs to grow and improve!
We are a medium-large organization and we have a lot of customization for gift and donor coding, we bring all our transactions and new donors through ImportOmatic due to the volume. Most of our end user prefer to work in database view because offers more flexibility than NXT. Everybody in my organization feels like NXT is a half baked product because of limitations, for example we use gift codes for donor segmentation and reporting, that field is not available in any module of NXT or Insight designer.

- Email and Social are simply to use
- Insight Designer should mirror fields available in database view
- Workflow designer is vertical, and transactional, doesn't offer other options to generate workflows such as actions for prospect management
- Reporting in work center doesn't allow to filter by gift typo or subtype

NXT is the perfect partner for Major Gift Officers
We use Blackbaud everyday. Especially NXT. We are a non profit radio station that uses the BB suite. NXT is just one application of the BB suite we use. It is perfect for Major Gift Officers to use to track moves management, as well as Prospecting etc. We also use NXT to create lists for our needs. That could be donor list to a list of people that went to a certain event. There are endless possibilities that you can use NXT. The greatest thing about NXT is the ease of use and being able to be anywhere at anytime and get donor information when you need it.

If someone offers you NXT, say NEXT!!!!
1. To Access database view since we cannot process credit cards on NXT as well as other functions. 2. To access security 3. Email our newsletter. I would say the product was a waste if not for the latter.

- When searching for a donor, it seems more feasible to type in the name and press enter. However, if you press enter, the last record you opened will open.
- Cannot process recurring credit cards.
- Cannot create batches of donations.
- Reports are confusing and not user friendly.
- Cant restrict by constituency code because if you do, someone may add a duplicate because they don't see the record in NXT. in RE; even if a person is restricted by constituency code, they can see the record exists and ask permission to access it.

NXT is good but pricey.
We track all contacts with our donors, all gifts, mailings, prospective donors, ratings on donors, biographical data, etc. We track all the appeals and campaigns that we fundraise under. Anything that has to do with fundraising is housed in NXT. It keeps the data on our donors organized and easily retrieved and reported on.

- More fields than what you can use.
- A variety of ways to accomplish similar tasks.
- NXT and database view are vastly different.
- NXT is "flashier" but lacks the functionality of database view.
- NXT and database view use different terms for the same items - Very confusing.
