It's very basic but met our needs. We needed something more complicated than the free version. I really like that they stand behind their product and you can try before you buy. I would have loved to be able to customize a little bit more (especially in the reporting) but I'm pretty happy with it.

Overall, I would say that we have hired about 50% of the SmartRecruiter applicants. Our non-hires have been because of interview no shows, lack of applicants following up with us after our initial contact, and not matching their needs for a job due to hours, shift availability, etc. despite the job description being posted with those details.

SR has enabled us to achieve a candidate satisfaction rating of 89% since launching. We do not have comparative data but this score would have been significantly lower with our previous partner based on anecdotal feedback and the amount of support calls we received.

Several candidates have had trouble uploading the documents we requested, or seem to miss it outright. We never had issues with internal testing of the tool but it's frequently come up. They also often email to confirm we have received it because they were not sure it had published correctly.

The candidate experience is more my doing than SmartRecruiters. It's easy to reject an applicant and not send them a notification as to why. That is understandably frustrating for an applicant.
SmartRecruiters makes it easy for me as the hiring authority but it's often up to me to provide value for the candidate. I wouldn’t say SmartRecruiters does anything different for candidates vs other ATS systems, other than prompting for rejection/response.

The candidate experience has been great since smartrecruiters has a good way of tracking candidates' statuses so we know where the candidate is in the process and get them ready for orientation. No more using spreadsheets and a white board, smartrecruiters' tracking function makes recruiters' life easy.

Prior to SmartRecruiters, the HR department was using Google Sheets. This program, while effective in its own way, was not fulfilling our department's needs.Candidates were forgotten, accidentally deleted, etc., and our recruiting numbers definitely suffered. With SmartRecruiters, we were better able to track candidates in whatever stage of the recruiting process they were in. As recruiters, we were much more organized, able to call and communicate with candidates much quicker, without anyone feeling forgotten.

SmartRecruiters keeps your candidate up to date as you move them through the process. This is highly valuable to the candidate and the recruiter, especially when the recruiter receives hundreds of resumes for each open position. As the recruiter moves the candidate from application status to in review it alerts the candidate so that they are in constant contact on where they stand and the recruiter can continue to move forward with other candidates.

I think in general our experience has been pretty good, especially in comparison to previous tools, in that most of the interaction can be automated, or at least drastically simplified from within the tools versus a lot of manual work that we had to do with the previous tool. Candidates seem to appreciate our process and having everything tracked and standardized (via templates) makes it a lot easier for us.

I am sure the candidate experience side is very easy, candidates do not have to supply a resume- they can use their LinkedIn profile. If the candidate uses their LinkedIn profile, it is harder to view on the recruiting side.

I am personally very frustrated with SmartRecruiters and have not had the best customer success rep in the last few months. I have waited over a month now for some very basic reporting.

Based on feedback we do in a new hire survey, our candidates are very pleased with our interview process. I am not sure we have specific feedback on SmartRecruiter, but I gather their overall positive review has to do with the process from beginning to end.

I was part of the team that selected SmartRecruiters. Before them, we weren't using any system at all. Hiring was difficult to impossible. We weren't hiring any people outside of the circle of employees friends. Compared to having no system, SmartRecruiters was great. Not having a system to manage applicants was really really hard. We would lose track of applications, forget to contact people, and were inefficient.

The candidate experience helps assure those that apply that not only did the company receive their application, but that someone is reviewing it. Email templates help candidates know where they are in the process and is quick and easy for recruiters to schedule out next steps. Teams are able to go into a candidates profile and view which positions they have previously applied for and notes on their application.

From the manual paper system we had is is night and day for our candidates. The fact they can use SmartRecruiters via mobile makes it even better. We can always improve but our candidates now feel they are applying at an up to date professional company.
